It is confirmed vampires have a reason to block the sun. Its not just to feed, but its about a prophecy that predicts a total destruction of vampires. Harkon wants to stop it. Dawnguard wants to speed the process. Evil is a point of view.

Dude.. I don't know where you got the idea that "Just trying to survive" is in anyway "good" in itself. They're darkening the sun which will lead to Vamps preying, and infecting mortals ALOT more frequently. With little way for the common folk to defend themselves.

They're evil. Just admit it.

it's because generally people's mains are good protagnonists and as such blocking out the sun and becoming a vampire lord isn't really sticking to their rp

Vampires are a plague, and burning corpses is one of the basics of plague control.

There's no difference between the two. Vampires are just corpses who move around a little more.

I'm using one character for both sides. I prefer the Dawnguard and their vampire burninating ways though.

Who is going to buy Dawnguard and only play one of the factions? This does not make sense.

The Volkihar are actually supposed to be one of the very few vampire clans who are fairly civilised. The Order are another civilised clan of Vampires.
You'de barely even know if they were amongst you...
So they're not just walking corpses, they have feelings and emotions. So in my point of view, they should be treated as WE would like to be treated, and we should accept their current state and what it requires to survive in that state.

Also, read my Sig. This is probably one of the greatest things I've heared. It more or less defies everything everyone on this thread has said.

Dawnguard here, I'm definitely not playing a good-doer zealot or a paladin but I'm fed up with vampire stuff and I've never really liked the undead - they're an abomination, I can't wait to crossbow-bolt their twisted rotten bodies back into their coffins where they belong.

My primarey character is a lvl. 61 duel weilding, fireball tossing, ice shouting, Nord werewolf and dang proud of it lol. So as you can see my 1st play through will definetly be as a member of the Dawnguard.

Vampires have to eat, don't they? So I guess they should just sit by and allow their doom to knock at the door and do absolutely nothing? There is no logic in that. There is a reason for them to darken the the sun that exceeds their need to just feed on people.

We clearly thing differently.

It seems there are actually three new kinds of builds people are looking forward to playing in Dawnguard, rather than just two.

Vampire lords, crossbow-wielding vampire hunters and enhanced werewolves. Many of us will probably play all three.

I know I will. Vampire Lords will be dead last though.

Well, I don't know about "Dawn-gaurd" but I do know my main will be with the "Dawnguard". Is this "Dawn-gaurd" a little brother type organizaton to "Dawnguard"?

I assume you still have to chose between vampire or werewolf and would have chosen vampire but I rather like the thought of the new werewolf perk tree.

As my main character has been a vampire for 94 out of the 110 days he has spent in Skyrim....I am going for the vampires. I already know what vanilla vamps weaknesses are so I shall take whatever else comes with being a VL. If I decide to go that way. And who is to say I cant just kill a Dawnguard and take their "cool" armor and crossbow?
