More people choosing Dawn-gaurd over Vampire.

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:59 pm

Kinda stating what everyone already knows: With a vampire no one is sure what the risks may be and although theres alot of excitement with new spells and perks but the risk factor of vampiric weaknesses is too large for many, including myself.

If we were to join the Dawngaurd we are guaranteed better and cooler armor, weapons and maybe even some anti vampiric resistances.

Vote and look at the results of the "Dawn Gaurd vs vampire" vote on the side of this Blog and you'll see the for yourself: http://www.bethblog.com/

62% = Dawngaurd
38% = Vampire
its dispicable is what it is! lol . i love the new vampires and i cant wait to become a vampire lord .... i think there will be new clothing and stuff on the vampire side it just hasnt been shown . i wonder why people are choosing the dawnguard over the vampires , could be personality preferance i suppose , some people like a more heavy handed character over a mystical or un-traditional type of warrior , some guys like maces and axes rather then spells . im more into the untraditional type , spells , claws, abilities , stealth kinda guy . i find charging in roaring with a axe or mace and clobbering everything kinda simple and un-colourfull .
i like vampires because they bring a non-conformatistic power to there personalities and the atmosphere around them . i kinda feel vampires are like underdogs .
or could be some players like to play the hero and save the world type rather then the vengeful type .

Not all vampires are bad. Look at Sybille Stentor, she only feeds on prisoners who are sentenced to death. I'm sure there are other non hostile vamps throughout the Elder Scrolls series.

However the vampires in Dawnguard are likely all evil and so I will have no trouble laying their poor twisted souls to rest.

Do the vampire lords burn in sunlight or is that just normal vampires?

I'm using my Dunmer battlemage, Xolah to join the Volkihar so I can find out what armour they give out and what armour the Dawnguard give out. Eventually I'll delete Xolah, so I can go back to having my hud off, play on master ,trying to roleplay (need to learn more of the lore), and follow dead is dead rules.

I swear every post I read by you sounds like your avatar's voice actor and ends in some Bible verse or "AMEN!" in my head.

On topic, I haven't decided which to do yet. It'll depend how it affects my character's appearance partially.

We are the servants of the Nine, and the messengers of their Justice. We are the instruments of their divine wrath on Nirn. We are called upon to cleanse their kingdom, bringing ash. from the flesh, of thine enemies. Praise to our Lords!

On my first two characters I will side with the Dawnguard, but after that I have a few characters that will be vamp lords.

How are they evil for wanting to survive?

it's kinda obvious that they are evil, just by looking at the trailer.. you know.. destroying the sun and evolving to monsters of pure destruction and so stuff...

1. They do not want to destroy the sun. They want to darken it.

2. It is confirmed vampires have a reason to block the sun. Its not just to feed, but its about a prophecy that predicts a total destruction of vampires. Harkon wants to stop it. Dawnguard wants to speed the process. Evil is a point of view.

Well, I accidentally deleted my favorite character that I slated for Dawnguard... Got a little carried away while clearing out old saves. So I made a new character with the purpose of Dawnguard but got infected with vampirism on accident... So.... Vampire Lord all the way!

Not all vampires are soulless beings, but if they ally themselves with Mr. anti-Sun then they have chosen to stand against me, and I won't show them mercy in battle.

Vampires may have incentives for what they do, but they still eat people who would prefer not to be eaten and turn yet other people into people eating monsters. The very concept of evil is of no use at all if it doesn't apply to vampires.

Pretty much my reasoning as well. Also I have zero interest in being a blood svcking parasitic corpse.

This too.

Indeed

There's a large group of people who don't care for these evil monsters

My current fave character would agree with this sentiment.

Course she has a modded in alteration slowtime, nighteye, forcepush so i guess i wouldnt gain much. (and of course tons of invis casts)

Ready to run some detect dead and hunt them down like animals.

Vamps arent immune to paralysis casts- strikes me as odd- i am sure they were in all previous incarnations.
