I Need Help Deciding.

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:20 am

I don't care what certain laws and regulations are for certain ages in certain countries, or the differences between human anatomy - that has nothing to do with this game, and is completely irrelevant. 16 and 12 are both children in my eyes, so they are both the same thing.

So the voice pitch and depth and anatomical maturity of a 12 year old is equal to that of a 16 year old yeah?

No.

And what does age have to do with this game anyway?

I'm not talking about anatomically correctness or differences in that sense, I'm talking about in the gameworld, a 16 and 12 year old are the same thing to me - they are both just kids. They have the same mindset and mentality, the same level f maturity, they are the same thing. Now I don't mean EVERY 12 and 16 yr old are the same, but for the most part, speaking in terms of encountering them in games, 16 and 12 are the same - Hell, 30 and 12 can be the same in game terms.

In my mind, making fleeting comments about a certain age group is quite immature. Try to be more specific next time, using phrases such as "Quite a lot of 12 to 16 year olds are the same to me". This should ensure that your posts are actually understood, rather than you saying one thing...

16 and 12 are the same thing in my book.

...and meaning something else...

Now I don't mean EVERY 12 and 16 yr old are the same

I know what you meant, i get rather annoyed with that age group in mw2, you hear them over the mic's with a high pitch voice, "ooh ive got a care package!"

ON topic, i find both sides selfish in their own little ways, but i cant decide which one is best in terms of look, as i like both styles :banghead:

You're 17, What he said was grouping you in with that "age group".

I know what he meant, but stereotypes are never good, and things can be easily misunderstood, pointing it out is the best way to stop it.

And on topic, i also feel that both groups look cool, and as i am looking at them from an aesthetic point of view, rather then what they stand for, it makes it even harder to choose.

Hey, stereotypes have to come from somewhere right? If there weren't so many immature kids out there the term "annoying 12-year-old" would never have come about. And I get what HORSE was saying; most teenagers, even the ones in high school, are as immature as the 12-year-olds we all know and for the most part hate. I'm not saying all teenagers are, but most of the cool, mature people must not have mics, because I haven't noticed all that many in the games I've played. :P

Sooo....after reading 10 pages, this is my conclusion (subject to change at any time)

I started out thinking, cool, resistance looks cool, sounds like they have a pretty good story. Security looks cool, too, but sounds like it could be similar to other games by being part of the gov.
But after reading, turns out Security has a better view, they back up this place for what it was suppose to be. 5,000 ppl, not just people(the resistance) that wants to come there because of certain things(which we dont know yet) outside of this "utopia". They are just protecting wat they needed to protect. The security shouldnt have to serve the resistance people just because they went there. They are the ones that ruined the utopia and went over capacity. If they never came, it could still be perfect. The resistance came on their own, they should provide for themselves because they werent expected there at any time, sooo security is BOMB!!! haha
thats my point of view on this whole thing, let me know what you think about that...im pretty much gonna choose security according to what i have learned in this topic. but if u can tell me otherwise with a reasonable story...we'll see...

cant wait till it comes out!!!

Security: Fight for Peace
Security wants to stay on the Ark. But to do that, all the resources must be rationed. The Founders get larger rations than the Guests. This leaves the Guests feeling that they are treated unfair, and they rebel. Security has no choice but to fight them to protect the Ark. If you think the world is lost, and the Ark is the last hope for Humanity, play Security.
Resistance: Fight for Freedom
Resistance wants to leave the Ark. But to do that, they need transportation. The Founders refuse to fix and/or build ships for the Guests. They believe they is no humans or resources left anywhere but on the Ark, and the ships would waste what few resources are left on the Ark. So the Resistance was born to not only get fair rations for the Guests, but to also fund the building and fixing of ships so they can leave and search for survivors and resources. If they think there are people and/or resources outside the Ark, play Resistance.

Well all of you security folks using your lies and propaganda to persuade the minds of the civilians of the Ark, you say you want equality? why do you get more rations than us? why do you live in the happy-go-lucky rich part of the Ark? while we live in the slums, dividing single rations between our families. Security doesn't have experience, you're all nothing but a bunch of rent-a-cops, the Resistance may be more "savage" however, we use our primal instincts and our undying hunger for equality, to lay you at our feet, and to see you cold and lifeless. Was the IRA trained professionals? no, but they destroyed the British occupation for years, were the Taliban trained professionals? no, but they still managed to fend off American special forces for years. The list goes on, the Resistance are a group of equals, while the Security may outnumber us due to propaganda, but all you have is a bunch of street punks who were never noble enough to join people with a purpose in the first place, and think that "It'll be cool to shoot people!!" sad day when our little, unkempt ragtag army is the only solution for all of humanity.

IRA also kiled children, oh and the resistance are the ones who want "equality" you stupid commie. And the resistance are full of the anger operatives, good luck with them on your team. By the way if HORSE is correct then there is no communication to the outside world, neither is there a way off the ark, your solution is kill people? Remember the security keeps order and fights against murderers. Not only did you first say the security had no experience and were rent a cops, you went on to say that neither did the IRA and talliban, so not only do you have no point but the resistance is doing nothing but helping themselves.

I'm 13, and the only problem i've ever had was with a 12 year old trying to contradict me. lol im not what you would call an "average" teenager though. I dont think average teens stay up till midnight studying "advanced tactics for the 8 man squad". i also dont think many kids my age have read the art of war. 3 times. and have it download on their ipods. just sayin.

^^ There's my fair share of propaganda; ought to convert a few people just before the release date

I personally don't have a preffered faction, archtype or class, so I'll just wait until I can play the game, then I'll see what suits me best. :goodjob:
