We Need A Marriage DLC!

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 1:42 pm

The marriage system in its current state should have been left out of the game.

I concur.

Your flag is essentially contains a swastika.

Altmer/Thalmor = Nazis

We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in Skyrim, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in man, we shall defend our homeland, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills. We shall never surrender!

.

Did Tiber Septim not do the same as what is happening now? He was little more than a dictator. Does being a man change if it is right or wrong?

Does Tamriel not deserve a chance to set things right? To recover from the failures of a dying empire led and founded by dictators, who are isolated from those that they rule? You fight against progress.

Good question...OH I know...

Spoiler
Ulfric is one of your assets

That doesn't mean that we started it.

Perhaps, the Empire is corrupt.

I fight against the change from an overbearing race who's thought process will lead towards oppression, misery and eventual slavery. Tiber Septim united.... the Thalmor only seeks to subjugate and dominate.

And if you think that's not in the elves intention, look at the last time when the elves ruled over man. The Ayelids were once cruel and wicked, and man eventually prevailed.

I'd rather die then allow the elves to enslave me, my fellow man and all descendants that follow.

I believe you have it wrong.

Tiber Septim stood up, and united all of Tamriel under the Empire, conquering quickly, or allying peacefully. He did not commit mass genocide upon every other race besides his own for the sole purpose of becoming a god. He was gifted godhood because he was a hero that formed the greatest Empire in Nirn's history for the sole purpose of uniting all the races under a single banner so they were stronger as one, and would no longer slaughter each other.

He is a Divine, because he was the greatest hero that ever walked Nirn. There is no end of proof that he is a Divine, but the Thalmor are too blind to see what stands in front of them.

Harvest Moon: Skyrim anyone?
I'd play it, and by god I'd enjoy it too. Then again I've been hooked on Harvest Moon since the 64 version...

Nah, not DLC or expansion for marriage, it aint worth the time and resource to the company unless they include six, then it will be a huge seller, but mods will certainly add a lot to marriage!

OP:
Howard couldn't yet share plans for DLC, but he says it will be focused on "ways to make the game better, not just have more, because the game is so big. So we're going through ideas right now, and processing everything people are doing in the game, and trying to think of ways that we can improve it." There will be multiple releases (as with Bethesda's past games), but Howard says they "don't have a timetable. They won't be quick, and they'll have a lot of meat on them."

If we're lucky, Bethesda will take note of all the people saying stuff like, "Just pretend you're making a difference," and similar such stuff, and do something about it.

I like the idea, especially the idea for many more new weddable NPCs, quests for each, and the Honorhall Orphanage adoptions. However,

This should be DLC I agree. Everyone saying no and that the next DLC should be Thalmor related should be aware that DLCs, while expansions are included in this category, are small additions to the game, usually involving only a medium length questline, perhaps armor and weapons and homes. Expansions are large DLCs with a main quest comparable in length to the original MQ and side quests and whatnot. THAT is what the Thalmor Invasion or Thalmor related DLC should be -- an expansion.

The OP's marriage idea should be a small DLC

Most of the NPCs are weddable. They just need to be activated. You could use the console, or the NPC editor. http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4554

Lets hope they stick to this because I want a substantial amount of content in the expansions, I am sick of DLCs.

I beleive your information is wrong.

Alinor has not unlawfully murdered any races, groups, or factions. We merely re-educated them.

We stabilized them and made them unite. Now, Tamriel is stronger under our flag.

Is that wrong? To unite the world without shedding as much blood as Man once did?

To quote my Dovakiin, Harold Thornsburg,

"I'd rather serve Sheogorath in Dementia for the rest of my days than bow my head to the Aldmeri Dominion. You can be sure of that."

I then proceeded to execute the Thalmor who were guarding the prisoner and set him free... like a Dovahboss.

- A unique personal questline for each wife.
I think this should have been in the game in the first place. Or at least some dialogue to get her/him to know better.
I was pretty disappointed by the whole marriage system in Skyrim :(
Just equip an amulet and talk to some random guy you've just met and you both are suddenly in love and happily married
I'd rather preferred to have less marriage options but all nicely designed with lots of dialogues like for example the romances in Dragon Age 1. Alistair was a great guy, the one my character married in Skyrim, I don't even remember his name...

I agree, when a follower dies the only thing I feel is frustrated(stupid AI!), the marriage potentials and the followers lack any kind of depth, you don't get to know them on an intimate level(NOT talking about six!), when Willow was created by LlamaRCA for falloutNV I kept wondering why Beth always fails in this department, I think it's because they feel awkwardly uncomfortable with the whole intimate thing.
