I have something to ask. What's with the cinematic deaths when not even using V.A.T.S.? Is that something that will be possible to toggle on or off?

They are adiing a killcam that shows a cinematic death of the last enemy in a firefight. Why wouldn't you want that?

It's not that I don't want it. It's that it can intrude with real-time combat when that pops up as I would like to be 100% on track when I move to the next target.

Wait, do you mean that the kill camera is only for the last enemy in the general area?

Yes, so it wont pop up randomly during real time combat.

Ok, I wouldn't mind that at all. I was getting worried that I may get shot up during the character's pause while the cinematic death was happening.

Why?

Because in Fallout 3, if you were under sustained fire your health reservoir was basically unlimited unless your supply of Stimpacks ran out. Thanks to the delayed healing in Extreme mode, the use of Stimpacks in battle is now significantly limited in effect. The only surefire way to stay alive longer in combat is to simply get more health. And only Endurance can do that.

If you're evil, and he shot you in the head, then he's good.

Or (if you're good) think about it like this: if he donated 1000 bottles of water to water beggars and then shot you in the head, he's still a freaking saint. Now, we don't know his exact Karma value, but if we did, we could tell how many bottles of water he donated. That's kind of unnecessary though, since we can just assume that he donated "enough".

Well even better, don't think in Good Guy/Bad Guy terms.

Think of it as "who you're allied with". Every charachter has its own agenda, and you decide which one suits your own needs.

Good info. Nothing staggeringly new, but good nonetheless. Shame the clips were, again, all about combat.

what else can they show, dude? combat is the only thing about a game like this that doesn't potentially spoil the experience for people, since it's all the same stuff. like 80% of the people playing this game will spend 80% of their time shooting things - they're showing off the improved animations, which is the thing everybody complains about, whether or not they liked FO3.

if they showed more areas than they've shown already then that's spoiling exploration for people. also, not only is dialogue a horribly boring thing to show for gameplay footage - it would almost definitely spoil something quest-wise, unless it's vague, in which case it's pretty much just showing "hey this game has a dialogue system that's functionally identical to its predecessor!"

Unless my latin is off, " Vulpes Inculta" loosely translates as desert fox. So we're gonna be working for Rommel?

The ambient music sounds good, hopefully all will be good as that sample sounded.

Also that carbine.....me want.

And always good to hear about choosing factions, and even go it your own action confirmed.

Great Interview thx.

Well done.....really glad i saw that video :)
Best vid i've seen so far...
I like the iron sights
New animations
LOVE the look of the small geckos :)
Also if i remember right ....i'm sure he said we have alot of stuff to tinker with, & not just harcore mode to make the game harder.
I like what they have done in the time frame they've had, especially how there is no set bad guy ( it's all down to your views of them ) great news...more play throughs :)
It also sounds like stats, perks & traits really effect your character way more than in fallout 3.
Cant bloody wait for this game :)

They did'nt look brilliant, but they look ok to me....it makes them look old, used & worn etc...adds to the feel of the game better in my view.
It's better than having them look like brand new guns that have just been made, would'nt have the same feel to me...i like that dirty used look ,fits fallout well.
Just my view :)
