Hell, this trailer was so awfully bad that it makes TOR look good!

<_<

TOR DOES look good.

The more I look and read about it the more I feel unsure about it....they're removing my shamans buff totems? All utility now...I don't know..I just don't. I want to still like this game.

Honestly, MoC is growing on me. That doesn't mean I'll play it though.

It's just that when this was first announced, I laughed out loud. Then I was like..."meh". Now i'm slightly interested. The review panel is actually doing it justice. Some of the changes are catching my attention, and things I've complained about in the past (sitting in Org all day, no world bosses) are being added.

But I'm 99% sure that i won't resub.

I've been done with the game for a year now, and this expansion is most definitely not going to get me to play again.

This expansion is Blizzard's last gag, I hope, before they release TITAN(or whatever they are calling it now).

According to the leaked release schedule, which has been right so far, there should be one more expansion for WoW after this one in the works.

I am excited and nobody is [censored] change that. I like some of the changes and meh on the others. Hell there is 17 other animal type races(most of them unplayable) in the game. Just because it a panda people are not taking seriously.

Not even Pandas can save a dying game. WoW got less fun with Wrath, and even less fun with Cata. I don't see the trend changing.

Which is sad, because I really wanted that BC feeling again. Just won't happen. It's over.

Here's the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyeZ8khSEC0, btw. For the new xpac.

I played WoW for about 6 months after a friend got me the starter game + burning crusades while I bought WLTK and Cataclysm myself. Have to say after playing it I can say wholeheartedly the game is really just a bunch of hype. The only thing I even found remotely fun was the large scenario PvP battles and assaulting city heroes but after that it just degraded. If you aren't into the lore of the game like myself then it just burns you out and it's WAY to easy to reach the max level. In those 6 months I was able to get 3 characters to 85 from 0, and advance like 5 others to level 30 something.

Truthfully i'm not impressed by the game and feel that EverQuest 2 was way better before they started going down hill trying to imitate WoW. Sadly nothing will get me to go back to EQ2 after feeling burned by the content, players, etc... . Hoping that SWTOR when it comes out will satisfy my desire for an MMO and not burn me 2 to 3 years down the road.

I'm a bit confused - does this actually have something to do with pandas? Or does the name just sound like "panda," resulting in a lot of fan art featuring panda bears?

Is the following a real image from the game? http://www.blogcdn.com/wow.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/pandaran-stance-580.jpg

Cataclysm was the combat upgrade, and this will be the new game experience (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/issues/issue_101/560-Blowing-Up-Galaxies). It's obvious everyone involved with WoW has no idea what they're doing at this point. I've really become entirely uninterested with Blizzard- oh sorry, Blizzard-Activison, since their merger. Having Kotick as a CEO just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. That guy can kill any franchise, hell any company it seems like, just by looking at it. I quit in Wraith, and I was convinced to play again for Cataclysm, but I only lasted as long as the game card someone else bought for me (thats all it took, free game time!), I leveled a new character from 1-85 and saw all the destruction they did to the game. Seriously, I've never seen a game so dead and lifeless, yet supposedly sporting the most active players of any MMO. The game is boring, grindy, queue infested junk. I wish WoW and Blizzard a quick death, and Activison and Kotick the slowest one any gaming company has ever experience.

I have 0 interest in WoW, I don't even want to watch the video, but I guess I'm not missing much. It's sad to see my favorite game company reduced to nothing more than another cash cow pawn for some evil corporation to milk.

I'm done with WoW. I was one of the few that loved Wrath I guess but Cataclysm was not fun. The quests were different but something about the expansion felt off. This new expansion sounds like I made a good decision leaving.

I was intentionally waiting until after Blizzcon to see if I wanted to resub, and now I'm really glad I did wait. I watched the trailer, it almost seems like the while expansion is supposed to be tongue-in-cheek, but I don't think anybody sees it that way.

Well, The Old Republic just got a whole lot more popular. I'll be in that group.

Same here, except I'm waiting on Guild Wars 2.

You know the hilarious part? Four years ago, this expansion would probably have been an April Fools joke, but now they're really doing this.

Sheesh only me and the OP , are excited maybe it is because I started in feburary. I also, some of the people that played since beginning that talk about quiting and they complain so much well I think they need to realize that have playing this game for that long , a game which has changed drastically through the years. It seems like every WoW players wants the game made specifically for them.

I am not sure how much influence Activision has on WoW and how much dedication Blizzard has so it is kinda hard to say "ACTIVISION F0RCED TIS ON DEM WANT$$$ MONIE$$$" or that Blizzard seriously wanted this. Please other WoW players that are not having fun quit, it may because you might need a break or even that you want to quit forever. I mean people are expecting a game that changes throughout it's life cycle to meet the mean millions of players wants , the publisher's wants and the developers wants. You can't get everyone on the same page, people need to realize they are not going to get everything they want.

Personally I think most people are mad because it is a panda as a class, you mind Tauren which are like cows(many other odd animal races as well). Sure I can see some people's points on how the panderian were a joke but aren't gnomes and goblins meant for humorous purposes as well ....wait yes they are the developers have stated that. I just hope some people overlook the panda's and hope blizzard does some good in this expansion.

I think many people who saw what was being added and when they saw panderian race they flipped and stop reading. You guys are like acting that is the whole damn expac. They are remaking the talents in a way which I find nice still skeptical about. Better ways for faction rep, no flying in panderia till max level, the pve challenge thing , world bosses, dungeon challenges and some other things.

Just many of you guys are wearing the tinted colored nostalgia goggles a bit too much in my opinion. Oh well , but I think I am going to have
Spoiler
FUN

I don't think that, it's just the WoW style of MMO is getting old and dying out on its own. You can only force your players to do the same thing over and over again before they get bored with it.

You just said you've only been playing since February, so I guess you don't know the feeling, but I'd been playing WoW for close to six years before I finally quit this summer. I simply have zero interest in WoW or WoW-style MMOs anymore. I was actually holding onto some hope for something new to be brought to the table this expansion and it doesn't look like I'll be getting that.

Cancelled my subscription in July and I have no desire to play a "Panda". The game has gone from the sublime to the ridiculous since BC. Thank goodness there are a ton of good single player RPGs out there to keep me busy.

Not to me it doesn't, but at least it doesn't seem to be nearly as bad as this piece of garbage.

Dear Blizzard,
People are getting tired of WoW and if you keep on releasing these(from what I've heard) sub-par expansions then people will lose interest in this franchise and the Warcraft world will die. Stop concentrating on crappy WoW expansions, make Warcraft 4 and go back to the roots of what got your company noticed.
Sincerely,
A life long Blizzard fan who has never and will never play World of Warcraft

Well of course it is going to get old and people are going to grow out of it , it just human nature. We have seen many attempts to try to breath new life into MMO's but it ain't easy. TOR looks like a WoW clone , Guild Wars 2 I have not been looking at APB took it to an odd way on which I don't it has been done before( There was some pro and cons with it though, I think the players of it could easily point them out).People don't seems to understand it is hard to completely change the system of a game's gameplay without possibly making many of the players mad. Let's say Blizzard puts in a COMPLETELY new combat system and it changes the game drastically in technical wise for the engine and gameplay. It is very hard do that with a MMO, you expect the same type of battle system for the whole damn life of the MMO.

Putting is such drastic changes might as warrant a new game, it is kinda hard to keep people who have been doing the same thing for years and some players don't seem to understand this. They still think it is easy to make the core game really fun for them when it is hard to change major core game elements like a combat system. Personally for these people go on and on and on how the game is ruined well maybe you have been playing so long that things that were once fun or the ideals which you dislike at the moment would of been great when you first played the game.

In short the players for day one should be kinda sick of their game and I they shouldn't be surprised they are sick of that game.

Wow. Lots of WoW haters here. I think I'll be joining them. This new expansion looks major fail. Because of this expansion, I'm planning on buying Skyrim again. I have lost my faith in Blizzard once more. WoW isn't fun anymore.

The only reason I even got sick of WoW was because of the major revamps in Cataclysm, it wasn't needed at all.

Whenever I got bored of keeping my main character up to date with 2200+ gear (talking arena here) I just farmed some good old pre-TBC instances for its rare collector items/mounts, it was great.
I also had a couple of lvl 60 "twinks" if you will, with which I did the same, plus PvPing against other twinks in the level 60-69 battleground was a blast.

Then Cataclysm came and it obliterated all I had to fall back on for when I got a bit tired of my main, so I played in S9 only. Got 2400, Duelist and all that jazz, but there wasn't alot to do anymore. They revamped all the instances I once loved and nerfed them even more, removing fun items such as the D1 sets.
And now they introduce a race that was introduced in Warcraft 3 as a joke, there was literally 1 Pandaren in that game. That's going overboard.

For me it's very simple to see that I got tired of WoW not because I've played it for 5+ years, but because of the decisions Blizzard made. I happily did my weekly Zul'Gurub/Zul'Aman/Blackwing Lair/Sunwell Plateau runs, for items of my own or simply to be friendly and boost some lvl 60/70s or get others their achievements. I did the best quest I have ever done; the Ahn'Qiraj opening chain quest, it was simply epic, even though I completed it at lvl 80. I needed loads of gold, spent loads of time, needed loads of favours. Got a raidgroup of 40 people who were interested and had never seen it before to help me with my fairly unique quest (Like 20 people on my realm have done it), it was great. I'd have gladly done it with 10 more characters as it was an amazing experience.
Then with Cataclysm they changed it all. They removed all my beloved quests including the AQ one, ravaged all the zones, such as my beloved Barrens. Gone was Zul'Gurub, the magical place where I did a few hundred runs for my amazing mounts. I wouldn't have said no to a small revamp, but Cataclysm completely removed what I once associated as my virtual home for so many years. Good ol' Flintstones Orgrimmar made way for some crappy metalic one.
It's the worst thing they've ever done to the game. Many people disliked WotLK, but there was still enough to do in the actual world when you looked for it. After Cataclysm release no one was there, except for the few archaeologists who hadn't given up hope entirely.

And now they announce a new expansion when Cataclysm isn't even a year old yet, it features a joke race overwhelmed with clichés.

This expansion itself isn't even that terrible (besides that you can't really take it serious), it's just that it feels like a punch in the ribs after you've just been ran over by a bulldozer, after such a dramatic expansion like Cataclysm.

Holy [censored], look at the rating on that video: 6,342 likes, 4,570 dislikes

I've seen horribly offensive, poorly done videos with a better like/dislike ratio.

This is just.... sad. I mean... weren't Pandarens introduced as an April fool's joke? I seriously thought this thread was going to be some sort of joke/troll.

At least now I know I have no reason to ever go back to WoW

I know what you mean. The final straw for me when I was playing EQ was when they began to revamp more and more old world zones; especially Freeport(I honestly couldn't tell you how much time I wasted in Freeport and the Eastern Commonlands).

OH [censored]

I was checking out MMO-Champion and realized that they're going to try revamping the talent trees again.

Considering what an amazing job they did when they revamped it for Cataclysm, I'm confident this can only be good news. [/heavySarcasm]

It was pretty much a joke, not April's fool's related though. There was 1 Pandaren appearance in total in Warcraft III.
Samwise Didier, Blizzard's art director pretty much came up with them and they didn't really have anything to do with Warcraft. They did have some lore around them though, but nothing serious or major. Didier's nickname is Panda so that's where it comes from...

Pretty pathetic for an expansion if you ask me.

Edit: Hah, new talent trees again? The Cataclysm ones ruined my class (Warrior) and made them revolve around 1 [censored] ability. Great idea that was.

Could someone please explain to me the lore behind bringing Panda's into the mix? I dont like the new race and how you pick a faction in the starting zone. Also anytime they introduce a new class it causes a lot of balancing problems for the next few months, looking like this will be the case again.

I spent most of my level cap time at 80 during WotLK and thats where I found a guild and a lot of friends who I am still in touch with. It seems like they had a better focus for that and that it was a much more expansive expansion than Cataclysm has turned out to be. They are sort of rushing through it, Cata hasn't even been out a year. I know WotLK was out for much longer before the next xpac was even talked about. It sort of feels like Cataclysm was unfinished and they didn't really have much direction for it and was primarily used as a buisness strategy to hold over current players and draw in new players while they focused on the next thing.

Someone use the term cash-cow and I think this is entirely accurate. The game is progressively getting dumber( and this is from a player who raided in LK and didn't even PvP until Cata). Removal of talent trees seems like a less than optimal choice and this Pokemon esque battle system they are offering up as a distraction seems pretty lame. I'll play until the next xpac but if I don't like the pre-xpac patch then I will drop it.

Edit: As a positive note the new class system does bring about the ability to have hybrid classes again but if its at the cost of playability and specialization then I do not want it.
