New WoW Expansion Announced

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 9:24 am

Oh [censored] no... Look at MMO-Champ.
They're going to revamp Scarlet Monestary and Scholomance to level 80/90 instances. Screw this game.
Sad that there's no hope left after all the good memories I have from it. (More memories than from TES by far due to multiplayer aspects and all the great 'friends' I have made in the game.)

Wts lvl 85 Tauren Warrior, S9 2.2k weapon/armour. S8 2.3k Tabard, R13 title, Conqueror, ZG Tiger, Raven Lord, Ashes of Al'ar, Karazhan Horsie, MGT Hawkstrider, Brewfest Ram, Thunderfury, Sulfuras, Warglaives, Thori'dal and various Feats of Strength. :(

Edit: Hah, new talent trees again? The Cataclysm ones ruined my class (Warrior) and made them revolve around 1 [censored] ability. Great idea that was.

I know the feeling. I was a Blood DPS DK back in Wrath.... :swear:

Wow, this looks [censored]. Kung fu pandas... Absurd. As if the game was not cartoony enough already.

Now you're a Blood DK healer?! :D
(I'm not really kind to DKs by the way, didn't quite approve of Blizzard putting them in the game. Or moreso making them incredibly OP during S5 and 6 mainly.)

Maybe when I get tired of Skyrim I'll go back for a bit to the one and only good patch 1.12 private server, that one was fun... Till my build broke up. And regular guilds aren't really that accepting of me singing Barbie Girl on ventrillo, or generally talking all day, or making fun of serbians.
Really going to miss WoW and the fun I had playing my Warrior in Battlegrounds throughout the years. :(

WoW does have some substantial power as a social network of sorts in my life. Its one game that keeps my cousin and in touch even while I'm several hours away at school. Also I'm still good friends with people from across the US who I raided with back in LK. In fact before this xpac is out the 8 or 9 of us are looking to take our alts and form up a raiding guild that is family and friend oriented. Gotta be a good member of the guild before you get to raid. That helps remove some of the trash that you encounter when joining random guilds. Should be a good time, don't really have time to play it as much but when I do at least I'll be doing something worthwhile.

Yikes, I figured the Kung Fu Panda comments were just regarding the combination of anthropomorphic pandas and a monk class, but then I watched the trailer out of boredom...just rip the entire setting out of the movie why not. The areas they showed could have easily shared the same concept art. Doesn't help when they put the generic "this sure sounds Chinese" music over it.

To hell with another WoW expansion I want a Warcraft 4.

^This.

Makes me sad to see WoW turning into this pile of dog mess....seriously, the whole game is turned upside down.

But, for the sake of nostalgia: "FOR THE HORDE!"

Also R.I.P. Fromhellz......he was the first character I ever really stuck with, a Forsaken Demo/Destr
Warlock, you will be missed, old friend.

/castlifetap until dead. :cryvaultboy:

Oh well, TIME FOR GUILD WARS 2! :foodndrink: :jammasterjay: :intergalactic: :celebration: :toughninja:

Don't worry, I'm sure there are others who only stopped because of a lack of pandas. Blizzard seems to think it's a large enough portion of the market to warrant an expansion

Well, when I saw the news upon opening the launcher today, I first said.

"Alright, alright, so they saw the little forum post of people speculating and decided to pull a little joke. Kind of early for April Fools, but no problem. Let's see what gags they have put in this one!"

*as my eyes go through the website*

"Oh... oh no... no no no.... they can't be... no, they can't possibly be serious... can they? Oh god no, they can't have possibly decided to make a Expansion based entirely around a race that was MEANT TO BE A JOKE FOR A SUB CAMPAIGN!"

*clicks*

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

*sobs. Notices something in the related videos tab*

"What... what is this... a... a new Old Republic gameplay trailer?"

[[Starwars: The Old Republic]]

(We don't have expansions based around pandas in our video game.)

Coming soon.

Man I am glad I quit WoW.

I just fell out of it after being so thoroughly bored with it. Nothing felt fun after leveling, just boredom and random jerks pestering everyone.

I agree with the comments about the game series running stale. And Pandas? This is why i chose to remember the Warcraft world by Warcraft 3. (Yes I know they were in Warcraft 3, but it was more a joke in that)

I don't care if the concept of kung fu pandas is ridiculous. The actual gameplay additions for this expansion are refreshing and fun. I was tired of the same old raiding focus before even WotLK was out, so it's about time they actually put some new ways to progress in the game, and revamped the talent system in a meaningful way which ought to be interesting for PvP.

Wookiees are all kinds of awesome. Pandas are worse than Ewoks.

Wait wait wait wait, so this means that those Panadas that were an easter egg in Warcraft 3 are actually canon? Wat.

Man I wish Warcraft was never anything other than an RTS.

Just many of you guys are wearing the tinted colored nostalgia goggles a bit too much in my opinion.

This. Having played vanilla through Cataclysm, the core elements of the game have barely changed at all. We don't have to run to dungeons anymore, leveling is faster, smaller raid sizes, and no more outdoor bosses. Those are really the only fundamental differences. Oh, and what class is on top has changed. Not that the game was ever even remotely balanced.

I'm not going to be getting this. Not because TBC was the Holy Grail and the game has been going downhill since but because I'm burned out. Playing WoW will always feel like playing WoW no matter what Blizzard does to it. I need something fresh.

Same. There was a time--around when the game first came out / Burning Crusade was released--when I actually wanted to play WoW. But at the time I didn't have the money for the subscription fee and didn't have stable enough internet, so I never did.

Then sometime thereafter I found out just how much lore, story and characters they'd started tossing merrily under the bus in pursuit of more money and decided it was for the best I'd never picked the game up. :( The WC3 fan in me still gets twitchy about just how much they ruined that game's legacy, but...at this point it's gotten more laughable than anything else.

Anyway. I'll just be off storming Isengard if anybody needs me. :P

It's really funny reading all the rage comments on the forums from people complaining about pandas. They forget they're playing a PEGI 12 game filled with walking talking cows, gnomes with green mohawks, and purple Russian aliens who dance like Tunak Tunak, have tentacles on their faces and legs borrowed from a farmyard animal.
