I'm confused why people thought Vancouver would have much difficulty would Chicago.
The Hawks wouldn't even be in the playoffs at all if not for Dallas not being able to beat one of the worst teams in the NHL in a clutch game. Losing into the playoffs isn't a very good thing.
I think I was also the only one to predict in the last topic that the Habs would win, just because Boston looks like a typical good "regular season" team, while Montreal has for the last decade been a strong upset team come postseason time. I was hoping Boston would win but I just don't see it happening until people like Lucic and Recchi (two amongst some of my favourite NHL players) stop playing like they don't give a crap.
And note that while I was confident Vancouver would dispatch of Chicago, I'm not sure how well they will do in later rounds versus equally good teams. Like the Sharks of recent years, a good regular season does not denote a good playoff season, so they certainly have a lot of prove.
It isn't the skill, because Vancouver is by far the better, deeper team this year. I chose Chicago based on two things:
Luongo choking again and Chicago winning the first game and destroying Vancouver psychologically. I think if the Hawks had won that first game and Luongo played poorly, this would be a completly different series. But when I saw Luongo up to the task (for once) in game 1, I knew my prediction was going to be wrong.
I still think all the Vancouver band-wagon jumpers can go eat large piles of their own fecal matter though

Fans like that annoy me to great lengths.
