Oghma Infinium Exploit Should Not be Patched

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 6:08 am

Simply because it allows players a taste of the freedom PC players have in being able to quickly make a high level character to role play with. Thoughts?

It doesn't make sense. It takes the fun out of the game in my opinion. Well anyway the exploit was fixed months ago so yeah

I think it's good to have, in case of corrupted data you can start off again with less stress.

Pretty sure it still works. If you don't like it don't do it simple as.

I think it should stay patched. I never used it and never will use it. It's game breaking to the extreme.

No it wasn't and I don't care if it is or it isn't. People who do it, are not affecting my game, so why should I care?

Not really, you don't need to exploit it. You can choose to. In my first playthrough I obviously didn't, however when I have to start all over again I was seriously considering it.

I was really annoyed they altered the smithing skill, now you can't simply craft iron daggers to max out this skill. Now it's going to take me AGES (well longer anyway) to work my character back up to max smithing. As well as all the perks I had and have now lost.

This.

I've never seen anything quite so mind boggling as people whining about other people using exploits in a single player game. 0_o

ehhh, I'm not sure how I feel about this. I guess if you really think about it, they never meant for it to happen so they definitely should have fixed it. I also think that it would be cool to have something like that for fun on consoles, since the pc users pretty much get to do whatever they want.

It's a little thing I think console players should be able to partake in if they want. Like dupeing in Oblivion. Kinda evens out not having mods. Well not all actually, but at least it's something. ;(

Or maybe some simple console commands would be simpler, obviously disabling achievements, but that probably won't happen.

But I partly agree with you. After making 5 or more characters the grind to level them up can get slightly annoying. I don't use the Oghma Infinium glitch, but do use the Dawnstart Merchant chest for some easy sould gems and gold.

If you don't use it, how can it break your game?

Then don't do it, why do you even care? Its not like you are playing against someone who used it to beat you. They are not affecting anyone's game other then their own.

Never heard of it, so it doesn't bother me. I mean, I'm not forced to do it :P

Not fixed on the 360. And if you feel it ruins the game for you, then don't use it. The option is a good thing for a lot of us who want to make quick high level characters

I don't care if other people use it, but it is a bug, and thus should be fixed just like all other bugs.

I'll probably be lv 81 before I come across this, so it's no big deal to me.

This. Happened to me. Lost my level 53 character with over 300 hours down to BSF.. I really don't look forward to grinding away levels again and playing without the perks I had (such as sell any item to any merchant)...

I don't think Bethesda even plans on patching it. I like using this exploit so that all the skills I don't normally use(depending on the build), will go up.

It has not been fixed intentionally in my opinion. Bethesda knows it doesnt hurt. And what about PC commands? do they break the game too? You are not forced to use it and a lot of people really enjoy it so taking it out would be silly.

Youtube it for exactly how. You glitch out a bookshelf or something. Incidently, shouldn't this be in the spoilers forum?

Nah. Doesn't reveal anything about the story. I just wanted a general idea of how much effort went into it.
