Old World Blues Release Date and Discussion 3.0

This entire thing is just ridiculous, and I'm talking about the way the users on this forum are acting over this whole delay. Seriously you guys as much as I love Fallout its inexcusable to be acting this way over anything, but especially over a video game. Grow up a little bit for crying out loud.

Or the patch is like a band-aid that slowly peels off. The pre-Honest Hearts patch worked great on PS3 for a while, then the same issues started coming up again.

Devs-----release a shady/broken product and have the consumer beta test it for them after its sold, give the consumer a time frame when product will be out instead of letting the consumer know when they knew it was gonna be pushed back at the beginning of the month...they wait 4 or 5 days before the LAST tuesday in the month to let us know that 1. owb is gonna be released a month later, 2 instead of LR being released in JUly like they said its not getting pushed back to Aug which is a month late its getting pushed back to September. double whammy.

Urself------do any of this at ur job and see if u have a job afterwards, see if people do not flame at u
Yes FNV great game, but after the stuff that we the consumer have put up with, yes put up with, i believe we do deserve after all this time to actually get our flame on. Hell alot of the probs people were having with bugs/crashes etc, the modding community stepped in and actually fixed soem of them.....just wondering why obsidian....screw it rant off

OK...at least we know the release date.

Look at the bright side, delay means they are polishing the product :)

I still have my Dungeon Siege III :P

I was a tad disappointed when I learnt of the delay and stayed off these forums for the inevitable storm, but I have my D.I.D chars to play with so it's not a real problem for me, it's still coming and hopefully alot of annoying bugs being fixed with it.

I'm pretty disappointed but I guess it gives me time to make a whole new character.. What makes me mad is that they're fixing bugs in the vanilla game that should have been fixed before the release of NV. But I guess there's nothing you can do, Fallout 3 &Nv's engine is pretty crappy in those terms. Let's just hope this DLC is better than HH though which I have a feeling it will be. I don't think I can handle another large empty landscape to explore and count rocks.

Actually I think Rage, although not related to Fallout other than Bethesda being the publisher might have more of an affect on Fallout than you believe.

It is my opinion, that the New Vegas DLC has been delayed because of Rage. They want to keep this game relevant long enough for Rage and Skyrim to be released. Which is why they are purposely delaying OWB and LR. That's right I said PURPOSELY. Brink was a flop, so the only game that is really carrying Bethesda at this time is New Vegas. Rage is the next big Bethesda title coming out soon, they want players to have something to play up until Rage is launched. Do you not see the correlation? Do you not find it strange that Rage was set to come out in August, but has been pushed back until October. At the same time the last Fallout DLC was set to come out in July a mere month or less before Rage's original date, but has now been delayed until August, possibly September? They have to keep this game relevant until their next big title is released in October. They are purposely delaying this DLC under the guise that they are fixing massive amounts of bugs, which has probably already been done but they just want to drag it out. So yes if Rage is delayed again, even if by a month I can see the final two, or the final Fallout DLC being delayed yet again, in the interest of keep this game relevant long enough for the next big title's release. Simply put it's marketing.

Your whole argument is based on the assumption that devs want us to always be playing their latest game which is false buy yep its a business wouldn't last long if you didn't buy their games, enjoy them yes otherwise you wouldn't be a repeat customer but theres no need to keep us constantly playing they gain nothing, and really pissing off a huge number of fans is just brilliant marketing, if anything theyd want a little separation between new vegas dlc amd Rage so more people would pick up both instead customers no have less time to build up funds. New vegas isn't relevant there releasing dlc which only fans pay attention to so attempting to create buzz isn't going to work well all we've seen are negative reports, anyone is business should have seen this coming the delay hurt both Bethesda and Obsidian so it wouldn't have been done unless it was necessary.

Quite sad that the DLc hsa been pushed back, was looking forward to continuing my F:NV game with the download, but hey ho, off we go..

Some people need to stand and stare at the mirror and i suggest that they take time out to grow up.. Yes we al lare extremtly disapointed with the delayed deployment, but its by a month, not a year..

psNFS, man seriously. Get some other games. You haven't played Arkham Asylum? Get it now and you can beat it before Arkham City comes out. Which will be even better. If all you play are that handful of games, you're missing so very much of what is awesome out there.

JackKlompus, ditch the tinfoil hat, man. It's not fashionable. Of course bugs come out soon after a patch is released. Because no matter how much testing a dev team does, a few million folks playing and beating on a game for a few weeks will ferret out more bugs. Intentionally delayed release dates? Unlikely. There's nothing one gains by keeping an entirely unrelated game relevant shortly before the release of something else. People who want Rage will still want Rage when they put Fallout NV aside. Probably more than they did before, since they'll have one less game distracting them from the approaching new toy.

And yes, probably a lot of young people on this forum. Now is as good a time as any to figure out the delay of a game is nothing to panic over. Dev teams and production houses have done worse. There are a lot of games I've gotten where the DLC was platform specific. Meaning I didn't get DLC because of platform issues. We get it, across every platform. It's a matter of keeping things in perspective.

Only if you play the game once. A lot of people play it several times. But still, too much fuss I can agree with.

That cant be considered an ultimate perk. It's primarily useful to people who have Meltdown so that they are a little less likely to vaporize themselves. That perk is bugged anyways. It doesnt work for BoS Power Armor or Salvaged Power Armor.
This whole game is totally bugged. Take any F:NV page in vault viki and it's likely thatbugs list 'll be larger than article itself.

I can't understand why people can't understand what all the fuss is about. After buying a fairly expensive product (I personally bought the collector's edition) that was the next installment to a goty title that almost everyone had incredibly high hopes for, the game is released uncompleted. It was just B-R-O-K-E-N plain and simple. Now, eight months later, the game is still broken. If there was any care for the consumer on this one, the game itself should have been pushed back to be a holiday release (2010), or even further if necessary. Delaying the dlc is just adding insult to injury.

Does anyone honestly not see this foreboding news as evidence of future problems?

What future problems? Lonesome Road? I'd imagine it will be pushed back, obviously.

The delay in OWB means nothing, plenty of other games to play and I would buy it if it was a 6 month delay. At least it supplied two days of hilarity in reading these threads. I hope J.Bergman has had a few laughs at the amount of raging going on I know I have. The passion for Fallout knows no bounds!

Ah. We seem to have moved through http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stages_of_grief rather quickly. Excellent.

Well, as I've said...I'm all for giving Obsidian the time they need. Maybe I'm just willing to cut them a break out of nostalgia for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Isle_Studios and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallout_%28computer_game%29, maybe because as a PC gamer I'm all too familiar with waiting for DLC releases (Dead Money, anyone?), or maybe just because I've had to learn a great deal of patience in my life. Either way, I'm still expecting a good release, and still looking forward to it.

(Or maybe it's because one of my mods managed to break Oblivion last night, and I'm still trying to figure out what in the flaming hell I did. That could be it too. Maybe.)

I'd rather Bethesda delay the DLC then release it with bugs. I don't understand the people who whine about a game being buggy, then whine about not getting a DLC released when they think it should be released, and then whine about the DLC being buggy. Really if a game is giving you that many problems, then don't spend money on it. The people who complain all the time are the same people who vow they'll never by another game/dlc from company "X", and then are on the forums two weeks later complaining about how the lastest DLC they just bought, (from the company they just got done vowing they'd never buy from again), is still buggy, crashing, boring, not what they expected, ...whatever.
