That neon lighting is gonna be so incredibly [censored] annoying.
Think I'm gonna change my setting on the TV so it's black and white when I play it.

Actually I think Rage, although not related to Fallout other than Bethesda being the publisher might have more of an affect on Fallout than you believe.

It is my opinion, that the New Vegas DLC has been delayed because of Rage. They want to keep this game relevant long enough for Rage and Skyrim to be released. Which is why they are purposely delaying OWB and LR. That's right I said PURPOSELY. Brink was a flop, so the only game that is really carrying Bethesda at this time is New Vegas. Rage is the next big Bethesda title coming out soon, they want players to have something to play up until Rage is launched. Do you not see the correlation? Do you not find it strange that Rage was set to come out in August, but has been pushed back until October. At the same time the last Fallout DLC was set to come out in July a mere month or less before Rage's original date, but has now been delayed until August, possibly September? They have to keep this game relevant until their next big title is released in October. They are purposely delaying this DLC under the guise that they are fixing massive amounts of bugs, which has probably already been done but they just want to drag it out. So yes if Rage is delayed again, even if by a month I can see the final two, or the final Fallout DLC being delayed yet again, in the interest of keep this game relevant long enough for the next big title's release. Simply put it's marketing.

This kind of conspiracy theory is awesome.

Please continue to our 10 year plan of delaying games with the ultimate goal of complete world domination through water fluoridation.

Ah, but you see, the fact that you want it is precisely why you won't get it. It's all part of their conspiracy theory to...ah, screw this. My heart isn't in it.

Also, props to Jason for reminding me about the water fluoridation conspiracies from back when. Now I have something else to amuse myself with while I'm supposed to be crunching numbers.

I'd rather wait another month to get the DLC and be able to actually play it without any game-breaking bugs messing it up for me.

Honestly I'm more upset that while the DLC is ~4 weeks away, they have the gall to tell us the trailer will be released "in the coming weeks." No [censored], Sherlock? I'm sorry, don't mean that to come off as offensive, but yeah, that's a pretty useless announcement. See, in my opinion, THESE are the kind of setups where you attempt to give an estimate, no matter how unsure you are. It's one of those things where after hearing "soon" for ages, they finally decide the DLC is coming "not so soon," and just when you're about to say "oh well that's ok, I'm sure we'll be getting some details to hold us over til then," they respond with "Absolutely. You'll be getting more details on OWB. Soon."

If there's anything to be insulted about, it's that. It's clear people are upset with the lack of info, and whether or not their reactions are civil or reasonable is irrelevant. Responding to complaints with the same exact attitude that fueled half the complaints is pretty messed up. I mean, is there anything wrong with delaying the DLC? No, why should there be? People will always be upset with delays just like people will always hate taxes, but these guys are the developers and it's their job to decide if the game needs a delay or not. There's no motive for them to pointlessly delay the DLC unless they see good reason to. Respect their authority in that respect instead of blindly accusing them of this and that and who knows what. On the flip side, I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't be as frustrated as they are if they didn't wait until AFTER it was clear there was a problem and everyone was running about in panic to announce the delay. Even simple updates like "looks like trouble in development, expect delays" would help calm people. Still, give them credit for being responsive to questions and posts on the forums; something most game developers don't do. Beth/sidian is very responsive to the community here, something we should be thankful for. They're plenty capable of posting "yeah I think that bugs been fixed" or "I agree this needs balancing," it's just the release date questions that are generally left unanswered until a week before the release/after the delay.

Personally I'm not upset. I just wrote this cause I both think the people complaining should calm down and yet I can see why people are annoyed.

You all seem to be forgetting that Fallout 3 had similar delays. The 5 DLC's were not released within any specific time frame - in fact, some of the were released two months apart. Operation:Anchorage was released in late January, The Pitt was released in late March, Broken Steel in early May, Point Lookout in June, and Mothership Zeta in August!

Stop whining about the release dates - the DLC will come out when it comes out. If you don't want to wait - don't buy them.

Very disappointed with this new info. I hadn't even touched New Vegas since April and was looking to regain my interest in the coming few days. I'll be going to India for July and some of August and when I return, I'll have probably lost all interest in New Vegas. I guess this is officially goodbye to the game and this forum...

The release date being 4 weeks away is lame. And I was upset about it at first, I think understandably, but now I'm pretty chill about it. Overall, I think Fallout 3 was handled a bit more professionally with it's DLC. The time span of release was far more regimented. Approx 2 months between each DLC, plus an extra month between Broken Steel and Point lookout if I remember correctly.

With New Vegas it's been:
Release date of game
-1 month later = Dead Money 360
-Another 2 months later = Ps3, Pc Dead money No word on Honest Hearts
-2 More months = Honest Hearts
-Another month = Old world Blues(CRAP NO!)
-Another month =Old world Blues for real this time
-Same Month = Lonesome road?
-5 Months later = Dead Money for Sega Dreamcast.

As long as they fix bugs on the current version of New Vegas, first, then release a patch with OWB, I'll be tempted to reinstall the game on my PS3. Other than that, I may pass on this DLC until the final one and download both at the same time.
