I don't think you should lose or disguise if you lose health or get shot. It be pretty cool to be disguised as a guy then an enemy shoots you, you lose health but do nothing, then proceed to BS everyone.

Friendly fire should be punishable by instant death or loss of XP.

You do know accidents happen right? I like H0RSE's idea of the vote to boot.

i think i saw a trailer where sustained friendly fire was punished by a 1xp lost per bullethit.

I think I see what might be a - sign. Hard to tell, that was all pre-slpha gameplay. This things are subject to change.

i don't see why they would change that...
to me it seems like the best way to discourage shooting friendlies

This may be an excellent way to spy check, shoot a teammate negative XP. Shoot a disguised operative gain XP.

well, i myself wouldn't shoot every teammate i see to check if he's real or not...
anyone know a way to ask the devs how they would allow/disable spy checking?

Well there is the option to turn friendly fire on/off.

Having it off makes it too easy to spy check.

Check the compendium. Unlike some games you can turn off certain things before gaming.

People will have to pay attention to their surroundings. Just like playing attention for mines or turrets.

Thats completely different depending on how the impliment the Operative disguise. I say this because turrets and mines are easy to spot (again depending on if mines are visible as well) and if operatives have a perfect disguise and there are no indicators besides watching them for behavior its like comparing apples and oranges because turrets and mines take little effort to spot where having continually pay attention to everyone on your teams behavior to make sure they doing what there class and weight should be doing takes alot longer and since this game is going to be fast paced close quarters combat you dont have alot of time to be sitting there watching your teamates for 1-2minutes to see if they do something they shouldnt be able to do.

As you said the game is fast paced and in your face. You would notice something far before 1-2 had elasped.

Don't be so quick to say that the operative would be hard to spot. There's only very fatal flaw in the operative's disguise, and happens to be the person they are disguised as. Customization of characters is a very heavy part of Brink. You should spent quite a bit of time getting your right look and feel. Now think about how close combat was intended to be. If its close combat, two of the same look would be very easy to spot if one of your allies is anywhere near the operative. But as I was saying, if you do heavily customize as you really should, you would recognize your own character if you see them. The disguised operative should have a plan to not get caught, and it ought to be good.

I'm interested to see how the Operative will gain Experience Points. All other classes get them by healing or giving them more ammo and buffing.

Yeah, but surely you have to get something from interrogating and stealing info from downed enemies.

I thought one was stealing the enemies look, the other just getting some info. Wasn't sure how that would work.

I'm just thinking how they are going to count the XP. 50 XP for each interrogation or does it keep counting when you're wearing it?

interroggation=retrieving intel(unit positions) from a downed enemy.

what you are thinking about is putting on their outfit, wich is an ability, not sure if that will give experience
