Operative Discussion

I think a good ability for operatives would be a stealth kill, when behind an enemy it would be cool if operatives could silently kill them with a knife and then pull the body into the shadows leaving no trace of a kill or that the operative was even there.

though this would be "kinda" cool... it wouldnt be right to do it. Let alone how would you do it... simple, you wouldnt...

I see operatives eliminating stragglers alot, since theyre already detachable from the main group, and most likely will be, it would be kinda cool to use this then, cover you tracks n all... but for gameplay purposes i dont see this coming in.

There has only been one and I think it was taken off the internet. We havent see much gameplay showing the actual abilities.

I just had a thought.

When one thinks "Operative," I'm pretty sure "Light" is the next thing to your mind. Heavy Operatives could disguise themselves and pass themselves off soooo much more easily. Especially if the operatives detecting ability is anything short of a blatant aura thingy. I mean, if you have to put your crosshairs on a disguised enemy before red warning signs come up, it's that much more likely that a Heavy can pass it off for longer.

But yeah. Heavy Operatives will have their merits, I'd say....

While most people think Light Operative is the way to go, all sizes will be effective. I don't understand how a heavy is easier to disguise, if anything its more limiting. When you disguise you take the body type as well as the class. So if you were a Heavy Operative and disguised as a light character it would be rather obvious if you never did any parkour moves.

We still don't know exactly how the detecting ability works.

Although Light seems to be the popular choice among Operative players, I don't think all the Operatives abilities are going to be "Light friendly." That and the Universal skills, makes Operative (and any class) doable by any body type.

It wouldn't make sense for all Operative abilities to be light friendly, because they want variety in the game and it just seems highly unlikely. The Operative of course would also be very heavy friendly, who would simply be able to stand his ground and hack things or complete objectives before going into a disguised form. Being a Heavy Operative would offer much more survivability, because if your caught, well... your a heavy.

Yes. it seems a lot of people think that an Operative *HAS* to be sneaky. This simply is not true. The way I see it, a Light Operative would be better for causing chaos for the enemy team (disguising, sabotaging, etc) And a Heavy Op would be good for getting the objective done and interrogating his victims.

I fall into the stealthier of the two camps. The earlier one. Although are Medium bodyweights being forgotten. Every topic i see something of Light vs Heavy, but nothing of the Medium. Anyone want to lead on from this.

because lights and heavies are the exact opposites so itll be interesting to see who would win. mediums are just a mixture of the two

Something Operatives will need to be careful of is friendly fire when disguised, I haven't seen this mentioned yet but I think it could be a big killer of operatives, especially those without mics.

i think it will be like in tf2 when your team can tell that your diguised. you should be worried about spy checkers with friendly fire on

I hope it is like that. I actually like the fact that most games will have friendly fire as to encourage nonconvential of operative checking.

if friendly fires on it should be. or at least they lose it after taking a certain amount of damage. otherwise spy-checking would mean betraying your teamates

that is why you need to look for abnormal behavior, like not shooting at the enemy.

Well no one said it was supposed to be easy.

Friendly fire should be punishable by instant death or loss of XP.
