if it is shot enough it will be disabled for a short period of time. if it is shot even more it will be completely destroyed
His point was that EMP grenades made it so you didn't have to shoot it or manually disable them - When they exploded, electronics were disabled instantly for like a minute (turrets, vehicles, etc) even if they had full health, and you had to wait the full minute - you couldn't bypass it.

Better than getting your hack box knocked off.

I just read the Ops will have the ability to make their grenades sticky. Put one in a walkway and the next enemy that walks over will get blown up.

Is it an engineer then has to go and repair it or is there a period of time before it starts shooting again?

We'll have to repair it manually, we Engineers will.

Not sure on the turret part (I'll ask), but the you're pretty much spot on on the wireless hack.

Anyone word on that Mr. Gstaff?

If it isn't straight up destroyed.

I recall reading that the Operatives will have the ability to "Track" an enemy. Should make those medics easier to find.

Oh yeah, the homing beacon thing! I think that's going to be a specialisation. I forgot all about that!

Kinda makes me think of the tracer gun from BFBC. Except it works on people and doesn't turn them into a Christmas tree. So what do you reckon Chant, an arrow points towards them, see them through walls.

I hope its not a simple thing like you bring up your Iphone and magically can track them down. If you do mark them it should last the entire match and you should be able to have multiple ones.

I actually am having trouble thinking of how it would be useful to know where someone is if you've already spotted them; I don't think the beacon would persist through respawn. I assumed it would just highlight them on your (and teammates'?) minimap until they die. If you're in position to plant the homing beacon, why not just kill them outright?

True it would be easier to kill them. Idk maybe as part of the interrogation. I really like the concept but how it works, well I am sure SD knows. For example if I beconed the enemy operative I would know where he was at all times.

Also should it just be the operative who can track him or the whole team. I was of the opinion that it was only the operative. We can still Comm hack to show the whole team the enemies position.

it would be easier to follow them to the main objectives and see where his teammates are hiding when he interacts with them. you could also watch where he places key deployables if its an engie

I assume that since it's an Operative skill that it could be used to silently tell your teammates where all of their enemies are. Let's say you're on some tall building looking down at some baddies. You could shoot at them, in which case you'd probably die, or you could mark them, letting your team know exactly where they are. Who says Operatives can't use teamwork?

That is exactly what a light operative should do :)

On that note, i think all this light op anger/bug ninja hype has died down, which is good. I have high hopes for this game.

I love using smoke grenades in every game I play.

They are very useful when you are trying to help out your team.

Because the Operative isn't Rambo or Superman, he's a human like every other class. His job is to sabotage, perform reconnaissance and pick off stragglers. Now put yourself in this situation, 2 or 3 baddies are behind a wall waiting to ambush your team, you see all of them because you are in a flanking position, you could try and kill them, likely resulting in your death, or you could place a homing beacon on all 3 and notify your team of their presence. resulting likely, in assist XP for you, and a further push towards a main objective. (if you see any person alone, that isn't a heavy, all I see is a free interrogation, especially since i'm going to be one of two operatives on a team working together.)

yeah, that is what the operative SHOULD do, but many people are going to think its like a ninja, and sneak around enemy lines and try and attack them all by himself. So, most likely, the operative class will produce many lone wolves

Getting XP for beacon assist is a grand idea.

Also from new Rahdo interview:

Operatives get several unique death-dealing weapons, they learn how to hack into enemy communication channels to keep track of their location, and can even firewall Command Posts to protect them from the enemy.

Several unique death dealing weapons stop teasing us=> sadly this re-enforces the uber ninja lonewolf stereotype.
Hack communication maybe there will be comm towers
Firewalling I have mentioned before

Could be like BC2. If you "spot" someone, you can get some points, and if that person is killed you get more points for an assist
