Really complain about Neon light????

Why shouldn't I complain?
Why should there be neon lights there in the first place?
On the signs?
Sure.
I get that, it's to draw attention as to what room or part of the complex they're in.
On the doors?
Sure, might be to show that the door is unlocked/locked/malfunctioning.
But the cables and floor makes no sense.

It looks ugly, out of place and makes no sense when thinking about it logically.
A good enough reason to complain about it IMO.

You don't even know the plot, the location or the dialog. For all we know the DLC could start with a dude saying "Bla bla bla we took your brain bla bla by the way you may be wondering about our light up floors, the reason is this: bla bla bla."

Or maybe there isn't an explanation.
Until I get one I'll [censored] about them.

Well have fun then.
Seems pointless to complain about them knowing the DLC release date is July 19th.

I'm not complaining about the lights, or throwing a tantrum about the DLC.

I am saying, it was a wasted opportunity for something better. This is more like a discussion on our environment. I am saying that the environment makes the game look kind of cheesy. I mean, glow in the dark everything is just too blunt. Mothership Zeta really exemplified the sign of a futuristic race. The Big Empty is supposed to be a high tech facility, not a glow in the dark sewer.

Please note that this is all we've seen of the game, and it's just an inference of what we are seeing. It's not a tantrum to blow off steam from the pushed back date. I can wait, I am quite the patient person. For now I am trying to pass the time by discussing the environment of OWB. To me, I see it as a cheesy area so far, others may not agree.

  It looks like TRON. Especially with the TRON suit.

So instead of giving us power armor or a power armor perk, we get a TRON Ninja Suit.

I think you're right OP, aesthetically the location seems like a spent opportunity. I'd have liked to see a composite of http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8J-uc6YF_K0/TZPOgjao90I/AAAAAAAAANc/B4RqDf8fNcU/s1600/2001SpaceOdyssey025.jpg.jpeg, http://imglib.lbl.gov/ImgLib/COLLECTIONS/BERKELEY-LAB/ACCELERATORS/BEVATRON/images/97502207.lowres.jpeg, and http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk260/jct5/pict84.jpg. Just tone down the green in the Necron tomb, so it doesn't look like the Emerald Palace, and add more "space-age," white surfaces. The eggheads can still color coordinate the rooms, based on hokey color and emotion science. The ODYSSEUS, CPU room is green, the color of life and sapience. Blue in the labs, to foster a tranquil workforce. Finally, red in the showboat, sales department, where the military brass and DoD can lounge and talk big figures with the sales rep. Their every need is fulfilled by a staff of skilled courtesans.

By layering the facility this way - the deepest layer being the CPU - the facility becomes like a tomb, like an impossible http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qin_Shi_Huang#Mausoleum_of_the_First_emperor. As levels of the Big Empty are unlocked, the old world veneer peels away, and the Courier stands in the presence of an insane AI.

I think you're nitpicking honestly. I mean, if you look at the sewers of Fallout, they can easily be seen to have the dual purpose of serving as a bunker in case of disaster, why is the Big Empty a bunker? Well, with the fact that high end technology was being developed, AND the fact that illegal testing by public legal standards were being done, it's undoubted they'd keep some of that research hidden far below ground, keeping it safe and hidden from the world. I'm sure the blue floor was supposed to be lit wires and etc, usually lit up electronics in Retro-futurism equaled HIGHLY advanced technology.

Its level aesthetic design isn't impressive, is all. It looks less sci-fi and more like a DC metro tunnel. I'm not knocking the bunker theme, just the template they used. Don't be such a fangirl.

Edit: I haven't seen enough to say I dislike the level design, I mean I think they chose the wrong geck template.

The environment seems ok to me. The whole 'having your brain taken' thing does seem kind of silly though.

The missing brain seems silly to you? Not the talking sink? How about the talking light switch? No, what about talking light switches?

I can't wait to play it. Hopefully the dialogue is to guess in cheeck.

You're all forgetting, but the Devs said that Old World Blues would be the "Zaniest" Add-on. To me, Old World Blues looks like Mothership Zeta, only if Zeta made slightly more sense.

I am not a fangirl as many people who I have debated with on this forum will know. You're just being picky and are upset it is delayed so you guys are deciding to take your anger out on one bit of the level design. How exactly do you guys want it to look? 200 years after a nuclear war? Don't like it then go back to your treasured fallout 1.
