OXM info. so far

Clearly, you have a responsibility to push the series forward, but there's also nothing worse than a misguided attempt to differentiate a folow-up that only ruins what everyone loved about the original. Throw in a new developer - New Vegas is being developed by Obsidian rather than Bethesda's in-house team - and there is no doubt that a fair few Fallout fans will be more than a little concerned that this could be a recipe for nuclear disaster.

I'm not sure if the journalist got the comedyvalue of that statement. But meh, such is the press...

This just goes to show that Bethesda and Obsidian can only do So much with regards to the media - they don't actually control the message, only some of the content that goes out With that message.

I have in general lost all faith in Most reporters in the US these days - even the old skool reporters are embarrassed at how bad it is now. So I'm not terribly surprised that either magazine screwed-up the interviews and/or didn't ask very good questions compared to those of us that know the series. To a laymen the questions are what one would expect from an un-informed reporter, and I'd be willing to bet that some folks at Bethesda and Obsidian were also not too-pleased with some of the interview content.

I fear we will struggle with this for some time to come yet.

Well, think about it. Would most 360(all most people) users like it if the game was like the originals?

I own a 360 and I hope NV is more like 1&2.

Amen, brother. Maybe not so much in gameplay terms, but the atmosphere, characters, dialogue, etc could really benefit from being more like FO 1 & 2.

Nope, mentioned in PSM3 too.

When I say the exact same, I mean the exact same. The scans I saw of both PSM and OXM had the same pictures, both articles were red, and the text was somewhat similar, too.

Argh! Why did I think that so totally?

Same here, I check gamespot, the main FO3 website they do updates on NV at the top, and the fallout.wiki. But it was interesting though that news video was saying that they say NV will have the same dark humor found in FO1/2 and the two magazines I read didnt say anything about that, but unlike those magazines the guy on the news video actually knew about FO1/2 and mentioned them breifly.

Well, April will be one year since the announcement of New Vegas (time flies by so fast!), so I would stay alert around then. If not then, there's always E3 this summer.

you can always check No Mutants Allowed and Duck and Cover, they are old and the best sites about fallout (my opinion). But the info is always the same (i think).

In case this isn't posted anywhere yet.

Couple of tidbits from the OXM podcast with Pete Hines, and from which I think at least one will provoke some speculation and thought:

Inon Zur is composing the soundtrack again
I think I heard Pete say that level cap will be 30, but it is not known yet how much XP it'll take to reach it

Oh, nnnnooo. I guess that means they 're gonna use Bethesda's regular actors for the VO as well. Gotta go climb the fence again.

Hah! I don't want to hear them--period! Especially after playing Dragon Age and Mass Effect this year and hearing some pretty decent voice acting from those games!

I hope this hasnt been already mentioned (theres like 10 pages on this now) but that pic of the A7 guy in the magazine was holding that revolver up. But it didnt look like a .44, it looked like a Colt Patterson, an old Wild West/Civil war looking one. Some of the first revolvers ever. All I can say is: STOKED

I would like to take this opportunity to say that some of the images of the Trenchcoat Guy have been reversed, so that's why the ejection rod sometimes appears on the "wrong" side of the revolver. :coolvaultboy:

It looks more like a single action army to me.
