No point to Dragon Armor

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 9:55 pm

I prefer the Heavy Dragon Helmet, the Deadric Boots and Gloves, and the Light Dragon Armor. Have fun with your bad self Mr. Dragonborn... Maybe just have fun throwing the dragon armor on the ground in a highly populated town and watch all the NPCs come up and ask you for the armor. OR go to a dungeon with bandits, go in to sneak mode then throw some armor at a group of bandits... Have fun!

Why is everyone getting so bent out of shape because Dragon Armor has slightly less rating than Daedric Armor? If you like Daedric armor better than use it, if you like Dragon Armor better then use it...problem solved.

Logic?

Better cut that out, these are forums where people come to flex thier anol sphincters at one another to see which one dilates more.

The whole point of the OP was the wasted point he spent on his smithy perk. But we all get lost and start flaming one another because thats what sits on these forums all day... flamers.

The thing about all of the armors is that you don't HAVE to wear any of them.

If wearing the gear you like causes you to lose a fraction of your damage rating; who cares?

Don't people complain about the game being to easy anyways?

So I've done some poking, and it seems NPCs do get perks... lydia and karliah will both perform the sneak roll. Assuming a mace-wielding enemy has the lvl 3 mace perk, it would take ~1900 AR to still hit the 80% dmg cap.

pretty sure ive let mace-wielding enemies hit me and i could have sat there all day tanking it. the only enemies that do damage to me are mages on master. not novice ones either, boss ones that can one shot.

I finally got my smithing to level 100, spent a perk point on dragon armor smithing and now I wish I hadn't. I should have stopped at level 90 smithing, Daedric armor (AND weapons)... Daedric armor has a better armor rating than

dragonplate. And fully upgraded, the Daedric armor rating is multiplied and the stats are even better than Dragonplate.

My character is using heavy armor, so I instinctively thought dragon armour would be better than daedric. With daedric you can get it at level 90 -but dragon is all the way at 100... And dragon armor is useless. Why????? What is the

point of it? why would anyone wear it???

I can understand for light armor users, but for heavy armor you should skip it. Daedric looks better too. dragonplate armor in my opinion is the least visually appealing armor in the entire game. I was happier with my characters

appearance when he was wearing hide armor rather than dragonplate.

And one other thing.... You don't get new weapons to forge with the dragon smithing perk!!! it's just uglier/worse armor.

Can anyone tell me a reason why dragonplate armor isn't completely useless and a waste of time???

well if thats all that matters, you should've stopped in orchish armor really... you can hit the armor cap with 100 smithing and orchish armor so no point taking daedric either.
for looks I love dragon armor tbh, it makes my nord warrior feel more in role with the whole dragon slayer business ;)

IMO less armor makes the game more fun. You actually have to dodge attacks and zigzag archers or get killed. Much more challenging than just taking it in the face and ignoring it.

Who plays rpgs such as this for raw challenge? Nothing is challenging if you can just keep drinking potions. Id move onto a linear action game if i enjoyed dying and constantly reloading

If you're going the light armor route, the dragon armor perk gives you a high level heavy armor that you can craft for your companions, since most of them are skilled in heavy armor rather than light. I also think the dragonscale armor looks better than glass. Also, dragon bones and scales end up being a lot easier to come by than daedra hearts. Would be nice though to have dragon weapons - you'd think the light armor path would meaning trading the best protection for the best damage, but instead you get the worst of both.

There's only one reason dragon armor is the top perk in smithing, and that's because it's endgame gear for BOTH light AND heavy armor wearers.

There are only 10 points separating daedric and dragon because they are so similar. But on the light side, there is a 30 point gap because of the larger difference between dragon and glass armor.

That's it.

play on master without exploits.
you can even carry your weight in pots, the game will still be challenging.

I'm not sure why the OP is complaining about the Dragonplate looking ugly ? I think it looks great c_C lol

To the OP: What system are you running this game on ? Cause this game looks awesome on my system >.> see my Signature. If your running it on a lower end system then ya your going to notice it throughout the game :(.

Really I don't see anything wrong with it ?

Armor Rating: Full DragonPlate

An the Light versions Nice too :o

Daedrics nice but OMG heavy.. I'll keep the weapons though! and so what if its a TAD bit better ? throw some enchantments on an Poof! your good to go.

Armor Rating: Full Daedric

So what is the Armor cap ? Or is there really a cap at all ? lols

80% physical damage mitigation is the cap. This occurs ~567 AR, which you have already passed.

This isn't World of Warcraft, stop gawping at the stats and enjoy the game.

This. This is an open world sandbox game, not a ladder mmo. You don't have to be godlike.

Actually I would like to know why the dragon armor does have lower stats than daedric. Is it because of the fact that you can craft light and heavy dragon armor? is it because it takes enchantments better?

Offers very good protection early on in the game if you smith a lot; the resources are a lot easier to get

The armor cap is under 600 so it doesn't matter what set you have, you can pretty much break the armor cap with ANY type of armor. At 100 smithing/enchant dragon=daedric=orcish=dwarven=ebony, etc.

It is all based on your preferences. And, I'm fairly sure dragonscale is the best light armor.

so if the heavy dragon armor looks so "awesome" as some of you say why not make it more stronger stat wise at least by 5 points? it doesnt make sense really..

Another thing is the armor cap of 567 which has an 80% damage reduction IS TRUE.

You can reach armor cap with hide armor no shield~ which is pretty damn silly

Bet that will make a few people mad about their perks~rightfully so

http://i43.tinypic.com/9vk0gh.jpg people only make one of the two types of dragon armor then complain

Is there a light armor variant? Kinda tired of the Leather armors, so I'm looking for something other than the Dwarven/Elven [whichever is light] armors.

I don't care about it's stats, Daedric is Lore-wise always the best (Rivaled only by Artifacts...well not since Morrowind) However I'm kind of annoyed at how lazy the Dragon Plate armor seems, it looks ridiculous compared to Dragon Scale and I'm not a light armor character.
The light Dragon Armor looks much better sadly.
