OH GOD!!!
HIT WITH A BRICK OF KNOWLEDGE, THANK YOU ANONYMOUS LEEKER!
"the source was said to have stated that the Courier has a "relationship" with Ulysses and that the nature of the relationship would surprise players. He also said that a future DLC would add an area to the game that players "likely thought they would never see", as well as "a personality [from] Fallout 3".
HO-HO-HO-HOLY [censored]!
*has just realized that James is dead and now feels like a complete idiot*
:ahhh: :ahhh: :ahhh: :ahhh: :ahhh:
It's going to be a good year...
Sorry to say but that source has said quite a lot of stuff that has already proven untrue, like eight DLC's. While this was already an unlikely amount of DLC, Obsidian has now confirmed the existence of four DLC. That doesn't rule out four more, but it's highly unlikely if you ask me. I don't give to much credit to his other claims.

I do think they should work on getting some kind of random encounter and functionable leveled enemies into the game but the DLC's will be made anyway.
I think my movie vs DLC money:entertainment ratio example works pretty well.

some people will buy the dlcs, but i won't spend 10 more dollars on any dlc unless they work on the base game map first...put in some random events, regular patrols of different factions and enemies, i bought dead money was wasn't too happy, and the base map, lets face it, its hard to play new vegas over and over cause the map world itself is too static and its gets really repentitive cruising around the map, the quests are fine, its the map world, so i just don't see spending 1 more dollar on a dlc unless the map world livens up a lot.

Unfortunately they'll probably all be games within a game.
But I do hope they add stuff to the main game as bonus content with the other DLC's.
If not, then yeah I'm going to be extremely pissed off.

Yeah that would be awesome :P but would need to keep the New Vegas art style unlike how much of contrast Shivering Isles was from the vanilla oblivion's style.
Although, a new region in an add-on isn't very comparable to another dimension. :disguise:

I dont care if it's done in the vanilla mojave, I just want an epic questline. Shivering isles is the best DLC ever made for any game, nothing has even come close to its epicness level. Obsidian is making a few DLC's they need to stop and think "Do the players want more arcade minigames that block you from returning to the DLC area after completing the quest, or somethng huge and amazing that'll keep them playing for weeks?"

Yeah, they need to not make a bunch of small DLCs and make a huge expansion. A big area to see whats east of the Colorado anyone?

a source "close to Bethesda Softworks" (wiki)

That could be anybody, or nobody!

Maybe Obsidian could produce that many DLCs, although Bethesda said that five were enough for Fallout 3.

Personally, I'd love it to be true - provided there are no more 'stealth' missions like Dead Money ...

WHOA WHOA WHOA! I am on a PS# so I wont know much about Dead Money until the 22nd but if it is a "Stealth Mission" then it will be AMAZING!!!! Remember that ANY stealth mission can be played as a straight gun fight but NO planned, straight, gun fight can be played as a stealth mission. By creating more of the sneaky, stealthy, type DLCs they actually provide content for everyone. If they just made everything a run-n-gun then the game would be a run of the mill FPS...and not a very good one.
