i would take it and invest it into every food truck in a 50 mile radius of me and get free food for life.

(i own trucks, but someone else manages them... yeah... also, i know this is a stupid idea. this is the only place i can go to be stupid and not get criticized...)

I'd leave it right where it was found as I would be quite paranoid about taking it.

yes yes yes and yes.

Maybe if I had a cushy job and the economy wasn't [censored] i'd maybe attempt to return it; Although if someone was stupid enough to misplace 50gs then they were probly too rich for their own good anyway. I wouldn't really feel that guilty taking advantage of that stupidity. Teaches them a valuable lesson doesn't it?

Fixed.

OT: No; I'd take it to the cops and hope no one claims it.

I wouldn't take it, touch it, or likewise. After seeing that a dropped sack is full of loads of money, I would not want anything to do with the possibility of it being criminally related. I mean, what if I'd take it into the police and they'd be like "How do we know you didn't steal it and are trying to make yourself look good?" or something?

Take it. I'm not exactly moral when it comes to large sums of money. Spread out between spending, bank accounts, and investment, 50k isn't all that suspicious.

This. I'd refuse to believe that it was just my lucky day and I would be too paranoid thinking its too good to be true and that there must be strings attached. So yeah, I'd likely leave it and later regret it :P

This. Its what I did when I found $500 in a parking lot at the grocery store and I left it there and was called two weeks later to pick it up. I still wonder about who lost it as it was Christmas time. I can't help but wonder if my good fortune was some child's misfortune on Christmas day that year.

That kind of cash in a bag seems quite odd... I'd take it to the cops and if it was sketchy enough, I'd be up 50k. :P

I would take it. I don't have a lot of money and 50k would really help, besides, if someone just left it somewhere they are probably so rich that they wouldn't even know they lost it.

There's no doubt in my mind that the money would be related to something illegal. No one carries around that much money in cash. I think it's safe to assume that someone would most likely claim the money if I were to turn it in to the cops.

So in other words, yes I'd take it.

Finding that could be dangerous for me, it may not be best to keep it. Though really, it depends on how poor I am at the time of finding. Right now, I would probably report it.

Like others have said, normal, law abiding people don't carry around that much cash. It either belongs to a criminal or someone who was so rich that he apparantly isn't searching for a misplaced bag of 50 grand. I'd keep it, but not deposit it or make extravagent purchases. No incurring the wrath of the IRS, and I don't have to worry about small purchases for the rest of my life.

That money was hidden for a reason, so you better damn well put it back and forget ever seeing it. Or I will find you.

Er...not that I have a hidden cache of cash obtained through legally ambiguous means, or anything of that nature. No way, Jose!

The kind of person they would have to be to be carrying around $50,000 in a duffle-bag would make me want to get as far away as I can from interfering with the money as quickly as possible. I don't want drug-dealers beating down my doors because I turned their money in to the cops.

Leave it alone. Wouldnt even tell the cops. That money is obviously linked to criminals. The last thing you want are drug dealers chasing after you.

Now if I could take the money and had citizenship in a country far away... Then take it to cops, then hopefully get it back, then leave the country.

If I found a sack with that much money... I'd think it was some sort of deal between smugglers or something. You know, leave money on a place, take it and put goods there instead. Never to meet each-other. Yeah I know, been watching too much movies and such.

But if I'd be sure there's no-one there and that I only stand in for the dilemma of taking it for myself, leaving it, or taking it to the cops.. this is a hard one. Damn, with such money to begin ones life with.. It's just hard to say no. I could hope for some kind of reward for turning it in and not keeping it for myself, but that's not a guarantee..
