The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 1:33 pm

Would be ok, but I want some of the main characters to not be related to any of the already established characters from the first series.

Spoiler
My guess is the guy who promotes this move on anti-bending is actually a bender himself

Evil plan: Kill all benders, becomes only bender left, enslave and dominate everyone else. Or something like but it could be a tragic character that lost his fmaily or something to benders as well.

meh

Spoiler
I hope that's not it. Another simple "take over the world" villain would be really disappointing. Yeah, definitely don't buy Amon's backstory. My guess is he's somehow stealing power from the Spirits or he's a physical embodiment of one himself.

http://www.nick.com/videos/clip/legend-of-korra-103-the-revelation-full-episode.html should work if you're in North America. If you're not, well then there's no legal way to do so.

Thank you... so much. You have no idea how much you just made my day. I looked on this site and couldn't find the new episode. It was just a clip from it, and I thought that this is what it would be. Awesome.

Here is my take on what the whole equalist leader is about

Spoiler
The guy is actually the grandson of Zuko. He is a fire bender and is mad that his grandfather was a traitor to the Fire Benders and wants to bring glory and honor back to the fire nation and his family's name. He is hiding the fact that he is a bender to manipulate the masses and get them on his side. His plan is to take all the other benders down leaving the only benders left fire benders to bring back the fire nation's power. Yes I understand that he svcked the power of a fire bender, but that could also be a sacrifice he was willing to make to deepen his deception.

The reason I am saying this is because I know in the past where honor was highly held, treason was not taken lightly. At all. Zuko betrayed the fire nation by switching sides and his grandson still holds on to those ancient beliefs. I think the whole story the equalist leader told is made up just to get the people to sympathize with him.

My biggest question so far for the series, is who got with Toph? I know Aang and Katara got together, and IIRC Sokka and Suki got together later in the series.

I am enjoying the series so far, but I do find it strange that she resorts to firebending so much in combat. You'd think being a waterbender she'd be waterbending more often.

When Korra is being explained by Tenzin how the gates of wind function, I had to think of the quote from the movie Serenity

"I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar.."

Definitely. Couldn't not think about Wash there.

my guess it would be someone not in the Aang saga (Last Airbender series)

Note: Toph was one of my fav characters in the show

with her forceful, fiery personality earth & fire bending may actually be easier for her & water may not always be available. unlike Katara & regular waterbenders I don't think Korra uses a waterbag.

I like the 1930s big city feel that the writers went for with this series :)

Today's episode was excellent. I really, really loved the part when

Spoiler
Korra is knocked out and for a few frames you can see Sokka, Toph, and I believe Tenzin or Aang during advlthood

On another note, earlier last week I watched every episode of the original series from 9 in the morning to 11 at night and then 10 the next morning to 1 at night. Probably my favorite TV shows ever. I didn't really appreciate how good it was when I was a kid, but now it makes me laugh, cry, and smile the whole way through. Anyone else done something similar?

yeah, I realized I got a strong "Metropolis" (not the DC universe one) vibe from the show

@Deryck, yeah that was very nice part

starting in May I have plans to buy each "Book" (read season DVD's) in the original series & buy Korra books if they are released on disc

Spoiler
http://imgur.com/a/eJQpY, and that is Aang (you can also see him in the episode openings, he's the airbender). The new guy might have been the one the councilman mentioned that Aang defeated, Yakon or something. Also, have to say, Mako in that suit and with his hair all tidy looked http://i.imgur.com/fITWAh.jpg smoking http://i.imgur.com/Y37EGh.jpg.

Oh, and totally calling that Sokka is the one that funded Sato. The Satomobile is exactly the kind of thing Sokka'd go nuts over, and it makes sense that they wouldn't have him mentioned by name.

I thought of this too! It just seems fitting that he would be the one to be so kind and fund someone like that.

On another note, has anyone noticed that during the Legend Of Korra, whenever Aang is mentioned in something he did before, it seems he's gotten quite a bit more headstrong and even a more violent? I would have loved to see the evolution of Aang from a scared kid afraid of killing into a man who knows what to do when it is necessary.

yeah, the Sato-mobile seems a fitting legacy for Sokka

Spoiler
I have a suspicion that Aang could end up being Korra's spiritual "advisor" like Roku was to Aang and as such we may get more glimpses into his life after Sozin's comet

Yeah definitely. Perhaps even an episode dedicated to it? That'd be excellent.

So, Sato-mobiles... internal combustion or electric?

I haven't figured it out yet, but I'm leaning towards IC..

just because I heard one of the scooters portrayed going 'put-put, put-put, put-put, put-put, put-put'...

also the bikes and hotrods seem obviously IC..

btw, the bikes and hotrods..

at first I was thinking advanced steam powered at least for the Satomobile

agreed on both counts on the bikes & Hotrods, they are sixeh

there seems to be a good mechanical designer onboard making this show

According to the http://www.nick.com/games/legend-of-korra-welcome-to-republic-city.html, they're IC, run on gasoline.
