More wildlife? Have you actually ever been in a real forest? I could say that Skyrim has too much wildlife and all the animals are too close to settlements..

I'm not going to tell my complaints here because many people have probably said them multiple times already.

Regarding wildlife... I'd really like to see a real forest. Not just some trees few and far between. A real dense, dark forest.

Bring back the uniqueness of voice overs. I should be able to separate an imperial from a Nord from a breton through their voice.

Bring back dunmers grumpy voice.
Bring back Nords viking voice.
Bring back Orc's barbaric voice.
Bring back Redguard's black voice.
Bring back Breton's frail english voice.
Bring back Altmer's snobbish english voice.
Bring back bosmer's irritating mischievous voice.
Bring back imperial's american voice. Lol.
How do you have a black voice? And what's an American voice? Most parts of America have different accents.

You know who I really think is more qualified than a team of developers who have created some of the most critically-acclaimed games of the past decade?

Anonymous internet posters with zero experience in game development.

Who do game developers have to cater for? Oh, thats right.... the customers! Also I dont think this topic is DEMANDING that beth must make these changes in future releases, they are more just suggestions of what "customers" (notice that word again?) want from future games.

As a first time TES player, I want;:

More/longer quests
More armor
More weapons
Loot should be more important, more unique weapons and the best ones should be found in dungeons,
Not crafted within a few days. Or at least make crafting Daedric take a LONG time and make it feel really good when you get it.
More focus on Iron and Steel. I hate how these materials become worthless after a few hours, they are awesome but are quickly replaced.
Bigger cities

Few simple ideas I have.

Longer guild questlines with better stories. and repeatable quests don't count.

This. Both the College of Winterhold and Civil War questlines felt too "short".

That being said, there is a TON of content in the game outside the MQ and guilds.

*deep breath*

1) Better magic system
- Reduce cost on all spells drastically
- Get rid of "cost reduction" perks
- More spells and situations to use niche spells
- Regen should be full power in combat -_-
2) Restrict enchanting
- Enchants should only reach full power when applied to specific armor types (example fortify destruction would only work at full power on cloth, and be greatly weakened when applied to armor)
- Get rid of Alchemy and Smithing enchants
- Add more enchants, especially niche enchants(like many of the artifact items)
3) Alchemy
- Needs to skill up faster -_-
- Get rid of Enchanting and Smithing potions
- Bombs! BOMBS!
4) Dragon shouts - should be MAJOR aspect of gameplay not a cute side show.
- Much shorter cooldowns, most should be 10-20s even with 3 words.
- Much more powerful effects. Some shouts are pretty decent(unrelenting force, elemental fury, ice form... others not so good... frost/fire breath). At the very least it should be more productive to use a shout then to swing your weapon or cast a spell.
5) UI
- Make a PC specific UI, there's software out there already you could use.
6) Smithing
- More items to make! Mods have already done this but damn you guys should have this stuff in the base game.
- ore/ingot should both be combinable... doesn't make sense I can use 2 different ores to make steel but not the ingots.
- Base armor/weapon damage should be drastically reduced.
- Smithing improvements should be reduced to compensate for the above.
7) Difficulty
- Difficulty levels that are challenging when pushing your character to their limit. There should be no need to artificially restrict yourself.
- This doesn't mean higher HP and more damage. You should have to find and use weaknesses in opponents.
8) Weapon use
- Stamina cost for power attacks/bash greatly reduced
- Should required a set amount of stamina to power attack or bash(not just 1)
- Stamina regen should be full power in combat.
9) Co-Op
- You are allowed a companion as it is... would be awesome if it was another human being!
- Properly scaled difficulty would be important as 2 human players could potentially break a lot of things.
10) Vampirism/Lycanthropy
- Make it be more than a gimmick.
11) Random dialogue
- Greatly expand dialogue when passing by guards and other people... it should be updated as you progress through quests or are wearing certain items. Guards should probably not complain about getting guard duty while their cousins hunt dragons immediately after killing a dragon.
12) Lockpicking
- Should be literally impossible without a high enough skill.
- Get rid of skeleton key... wtf.
13) Sneak
- Sneak needs to be more effective early on and less effect later.
- Both 6x and 15x sneak attack should be dagger specific.
14) Armor
- More robe options.
- Armor should be made in a way that heavy always provides more protection. Ideal would be fully trained Light ~50% reduction(60% w/ shield) and smithing provide an extra 10% or so. Heavy should be 60%(70% w/ shield) with smithing providing another 10%.
15) Speech
- Perks to invest and improve how much moeny merchants have should come before improved prices... it's nice that this 1500 value item is now 2250 but the merchant only has 1100 gold -_-.
- Should improve sell prices much less through base speech and more through perks.

Agreed!

Crafting would be a simple fix though. Don't give vendors everywhere the high quality ingredients! If they are near a mine, it's ok with me though. Oh and diminishing exp for crafting low level stuff at higher smithing levels. There is just so much you can learn from repeatedly crafting leather armor or iron daggers...

How to make a better product?

Morrowind + Oblivion = Better product

Game with cut out content + console limits + saturday players (noobs etc.) = Skyrim

Dont delete game content on purpose, saying that you want to make this game accessible.
Dont focus on consoles. Interface, controls, lockpicking, combat, all of them got ... up.

I'm beginning to get tired of the lore of this series, which I know will sound blasphemous to most of you, but sometimes it's ok to move away from tradition and try something more unique, you know? Half the time I feel like I'm an archaeologist, always reading about long lost civilisations and exploring defunct dungeons, we're always reading about how awesome things were in previous eras, but the era we're currently playing isn't as grand, it's actually pretty dull, everything amazing has already happened, interesting personalities are long-dead. Yeah I know, we had to deal with oblivion gates and now dragons, but the main quest is so so generic in these games, we all know that we prefer the other quest-lines like Dark Brotherhood, etc.

I guess the fact that each game is set further in the future than the one before it is some kind of encouragement for me, but I just hope this means that we'll see more exciting things happening in the world and more books about current events rather than what happened before. What I like about the Final Fantasy series is that the worlds are really unique with a mixture of technology and lore, I really feel like I'm on an alien planet or alternate future, but with Elder Scrolls it always feels like I'm in an epic Tolkien fanfic. What I hated about Dragon Age is that it did absolutely NOTHING original, it relied completely and utterly on Tolkien, but at least Elder Scrolls has an extreme attention to detail going for it. But right now I'm feeling that that is all it's got going for it now, and I yearn for more originality. I want them to take more risks.

How about the next game is set on that other continent and go for a more Asian atmosphere or something. You can now harvest tofu, and eat noodles! :D

Tolkein did not invent fantasy. He did not create dragons, elves, or dwarves. Every fantasy game is not simply copying The Hobbit. There's a base for fantasy, that most games and books and movies follow.
