Unofficial DLC Discussion [Possible Spoilers] - Thread #5

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 8:33 am

If they add quests and locations that are only available for Xbox, I will absolutely positively not buy any thing else from Bethesda ever again. Not games, not DLC, nothing. The Kinect thing I don't care about. Quests are a different story altogether.

I'm assuming, according to Bethesda's history of strictly timed exclusivity, the XBOX version will include the new locations and all that, along with the Kinect support, while the PC and PS3 versions will only include the new locations, quests, etc.

The only difference between the two content-wise is, obviously, Kinect support.

If they add quests and content that is only available for Xbox, I will absolutely positively not buy any thing else from Bethesda ever again. Not games, not DLC, nothing. The Kinect thing I don't care about. Quests are a different story altogether.

TAKE HEED, BETHESDA!

This is the reason I doubt Beth will ever make any legitimately exclusive content.

It's exclusive to 360 Kicenna. You aren't seeing anything.

The first two DLC packs will be timed exclusives for the 360; they'll be available to the 360 a month before PC/PS3 users. It will be released to them, though. And it just means us 360 players get to pay to be bug testers for Bethesda before the PS3/PC releases.

Finally, Xbox gets the bugs from Bethesda instead of PS3.

I don't mind waiting a month for some good 'ol DLC. If they pump out some goodies that are anything near as fun as Shivering Isles was, then I'm 100% sold.

If the people with the xbox's get it first, I could care less. So long as it becomes available on Steam...Really looking forward to what Bethesda's got up their collective sleeves.

Wait.. lemme get this straight. The DLC will only be temporarily exclusive for the XBOX meaning that PS3 and PC users will receive it a few weeks later. Correct?

Doubt it. It reads like it will be 100% exclusive to 360.

I emailed Bethesda support about any future plans to implement voice commands to PS3 using the Playstation Eye and they replied that they didn't receive news on future updates. [sarcasm]I think they're holding out[/sarcasm]

This would be a first for Bethesda, no?

This DLC announcement better be big. I don't think most people have been waiting almost 6 months for a mere teaser.

Guess you weren't here pre-release. Beth announced a while back that while everyone would get the DLC content, XBOX users would get it one month earlier than the other two platforms

Has anyone else heard of "Dawngaurd?" Apparently, Beth locked the term down recently.

It would make sense if that does have to do with DLC for Skyrim... the word Dawn is referenced a good bit in the lore. You have the Dawn Era, Mythic Dawn, & Dawnstar City in Skryim to name a few.

it says that it will come out a month before pc/ps3 not that its only for 360 and that it won't be coming out for the pc/ ps3. they signed a deal with microsoft that any dlc for skyrim will come out for the 360 first before the other 2.
so 360 then a month later you will be able to play it on the PC/ PS3.

after a few years in dealing with fo3 and fonv type dlcs, I believe that they will be finishable in a matter of 2 to 3 hours if u burn thru and 8 to 10 if u purposely go slow and dont fast travel.
Im really wanting another lengthy dlc like ahimmering isles and not another short honest hearts type. Please dont have it 90% fetch quests.

Relax buddy, if this new DLC is to feature Kinnect support then I am afraid that he may be correct and that it may indeed be exclusive to the Xbox360, however all things considered that may not be such a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_xJqkzngBI

Regardless I doubt Bethesda is going to release real DLC exclusively for Xbox alone, at most you might just miss out of some voice commands and dikey kinnect menu controls.

I don't want to be "that guy who beats a dead horse", but...

please forgive me if I'm late to the party, as I can't really read through 7 threads and 7 pages just to convey an information

I took a look at the 1.5.26 behavior files, and I found interesting stuffs:

- Behavior entries for Crossbows. I can confirm that these entries are entirely new, and -animation wise - they seem to work the way standard bows do
- Behavior entries for the first DLC.Their path explicitly states "DLC01", and one of them is named "SnowElfPrinceAscensionBurning". This heavily implies that the first DLC is about the Snow Elves, and most importantly we will do something about their fate. I assume that we will help the rightful prince of the Snow Elves ascend to heaven (or to his Throne)
