Unofficial DLC Discussion [Possible Spoilers] - Thread #5

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 7:10 am

DLC or even updates I would like to see eventually (I would be happy with one) would be along the lines of:

Minor character post-creation customization (war paint, hair style/color, facial hair style/color)
Ability to add tattoos to arms, chest, and back
Thrown weapons, pole-arms, crossbows
Mounted combat from horseback (Player and NPC)
Perks for actions (like bonus damage for killing certain creatures or making better legendary armor and weapons)
House customization/Build a house or business (Buying land as well)
Making a family (Kids, pets, etc.)
Selecting your companions gear (Update)
Farming, not just having a garden or plants re-spawn every few days
Ship ownership (Explorer, Merchant, Pirate)
Customize a "Coat of Arms", Flags or Tabard for your character, houses, businesses, horses, companions
Customization of Armor and Weapons, mods to make them better (Not just improving them in a grind stone or work bench)
Select targeting for attacks (body, limbs, head for extra damage)
Ability to choose a "Profession", not just be an "adventurer" (Like join the city guard, be a miner, lumber jack or cook... etc)
Start and town and become Jarl
Bring back the Arena or something similar but make it longer and tougher than the one in Oblivion

My list goes on and on of what I would like to see but this last one is really going out on a limb but if it can be done, I would like to see a minor MMO feature where you can join a friends world or have them join yours, maybe up to 4 friends at once? Not saying a full open world where anyone can jump in or stuff like that, invite only with friendly dual options/brawl... Just saying it might be cool.

how would it break game "lore" your telling me no one from cyrodiil can ever visit skyrim provence?

There's a 200 year gap between the games, and your old CoC is now Sheogorath

Heres to all you DB and Sithis Haters

Now this is where you guys are wrong if you downloaded the Dark Brotherhood house for Oblivion they give you a shrine of Sithis in your basemant that gave you sneek bonuses and spoke to you not to mention the night mother lives in the void as in her existance conferms his and if you do their quest and somon their DB Ghost he comes from the void and talks(alot) about serving Sithis...so basically he exists....AND BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE!!!

Now as much as I love Sithis, I don't want to meet it.

Sithis isn't some god that demands blood. It is the very abcense of existence. Still exist, but not in a form we can understand.

i know there are alot of "Lore" mongers here who want the "Lore" to be upheld until the end of time... but its only a game.. plus beth+valve made a portal mod remember? that wasnt "Lore" friendly either.

Lore changes, we adept to it. However, how would you explain the 200 year gap? The fact that the CoC is now Sheogorath? And do you even know how hard it would be to program that into the game?

As for Fall of the Space Core? Given some of the things MK has written, the Space core is rather fitting.

Portal mod is still not tamriel "Lore" though... you cant have both ways... being pedantic over transfering a character save from oblivion to skyrim is really silly dude.. as im sure your aware its still only a game.

sorry im not a "Lore" monger/worshiper... CoC?

So you don't mind if a book or film ignores its own plot and backstory?

i've lost count of how many B films that dont follow its own plot / backstory... besides as were diverting from skryim for some odd reason.. alot of stuff written in books is changed for tv/film as im sure your aware of.

DLC that gave me something to spend my vast amount of gold on would be nice, it can get quite boring and pointless looting and dungeon crawling when you have a couple of hundred thousand in gold.

Why not a DLC featuring the island of Stirk ? It's intermediate position between Cyrodiil and the Aldmeri Dominion makes it most probably a place where immense tensions take place between the Empire and the Thalmor, thus making it an ideal place to prepare a confrontation which would deserve a whole game (let's say TES VI?) Moreover, Stirk is close enough to Cyrodiil for the river Dragons of the Nibay to come here and say 'hello', in case they came back to life too.

Also, a DLC featuring either Anequina or Pellitine could maybe be sweet as moon-sugar, although I doubt Beth had the time to model all the seventeen types of Khajiits. I think the Union of those two kingdoms would rather deserve a whole game...

Why not a DLC where the Empire tries to retake the Battlespire?

Something I would really LOVE would be that the player would be afforded more non-lethal ways of playing. For example, why do all the bandits (or any other generic NPCs) attack me on sight, while I could maybe make with them a very lucrative trade, organize cockfights, etc.? Why can't I immobilize my opponent and force him to drop his weapons and cease to fight me? Many quests could be revised, and be additioned new ramifications.

Spoiler
For example, in the quest "The Forsworn Conspiracy" in Markarth I thought to myself "this gets dangerous : I should propose Eltrys to get far from it with him family... Maybe I can propose him and his family to be hosted in my house in Whiterun for a while?" Of course, I couldn't, and some stages afterwards, Eltrys was dead. Further ramifications would have included, if I am a bastard, to tell Nepos exactly where Eltrys and his family are to try to avoid the fight in Nepos's house...

Many quests could be afforded extra ramifications like these ones, which could be included in a DLC...

I kinda want to see them have the Dwarves come back; like they were banished to Oblivion by the Daedras for not approving of the worshipping of them.

I agree. Or even being able to join the bandits as a faction would be nice.

I wanna see the 'Brass City' we heard about in Morrowind. That [censored]'s awesome.
And chances are if they ever made a DLC about that, it'd be sure to come along with some kinda dwarven crossbows, which would be sick.

Things I would like to see in a Skyrim DLC:
1. New weapons with complementary perk trees.(spears/halberds/throwing knives/axes etc)
2. Maybe some way to implement the Moot to elect the new high king/queen of Skyrim.
3. Maybe a Falmer 'uprising', not likely
4. A new landmass/realm whatever would also be a BIG bonus.
5. recognition for being a Thane in every possible hold would be nice as well. or a title of Dragon Slayer after main quest is done... not just someone who still fetches mead when being leader of the companions.
6. guards should NOT know I'm with the DB or the Thief's Guild... seriously.
7. Spell Making/Crafting
8. Build your own settlement like RTS

Thing I'd hate to see in a DLC...
1. More Housing
2. Horse Armour
3. Useless stuff like decorations.... unless it can modify your armours appearance

I love those Idea, especially the Moot, the spellcrafting, the Falmer uprising and the new realm.

Actually, I'd love to see the things you'd hate featured in a DLC, but not being themselves a DLC on their own. Rather, I'd love to have them as small additions implemented through a much wider DLC. I hope the DLC will tell a story, or stories, though, and not simply be a bunch of new features...

Disgusting and horrifying creatures have recently been seen wandering the lands of skyrim. Quest starts after you loot a chunk of rotten meat from its corpus and delivering it to farengar at whiterun. It turns out that these monster are created with the blight and farengar thinks its coming from the local cave. While investigating the cave, you find weird sixth house idols and symbols everywhere, you finally met a few dark elves calling themselves dreamers who attacks you on sight. After killing them, a ash priest appears behind you and tells you the dark god Dagoth Ur has returned and the sixth house shall rise again stronger than ever. He attacks you but with your great dragonborn powers, you defeated him but it was probably your hardest fight so far.

You return to whiterun with the news only to find farengar dead, stabbed in the back by the sixth house spy Irileth but theres a bigger problem right now. Every hold in skyrim are being attacked by blighted dragons, grotesque dragons that could even rival Alduin in power. The jarl of whiterun needs you to find the source of this threat before its too late and he suggest you ask the greybeards for help. Once you arrived, the greybeards are already dead and are resurrected as blighted beards, after defeating them, one of the dying blighted beards tells you the main base of the sixth house is underneath the throat of the world. He teaches you one last shout, the awakening shout and once you used the shout, the gargoyles inside the throat of the world awakens and fights with the sixth house army. With the distraction from the gargoyles, your mission to infiltrate the sixth house base becomes much easier.

Once inside you have to fight legions of sixth house troopers, eventually reaching the chamber of despair and finding Irileth the betrayer. She has gained new powers from Dagoth Ur himself and proves to be too powerful for you, however with one last lucky Fus Ro Dah shout, you send her flying to lava, killing her for good. Farther in the chamber, you reach a 300 foot tall golem called the Zkulnuim, dagoth ur with irileth's body appears infront of you and explains his plans, he plans to kill you and use your body as a vessel for himself and your soul to power zkulnuim since your soul contains enough power from the souls of countless dragons. You must stop him or else the whole world is doomed. Dagoth ur's power is way beyond your league, you have to dodge his godlike magic attacks. It seems dagoth ur has doomed himself and his plan, his attacks has weaken the chamber and it is collapsing. Luck is on side today, you found another new shout, the teleporting shout, with this new shout you teleport out of the throat of the world, saving yourself and the world from the greatest threat of all time

Should we make a new character when the dlc is released? i havnt played a swordsman yet and was wondering if i should start him now or save him for the dlc. What do you guys suggest?

I dont remember if its better to go into dlc with an already leveled character, kind of like your continuing their story, or if its better to make a new character. what are you planning on doing?

After playing a Khahiit and using hand to hand I have to say that needs to be DLC- the "kill animations" are awesome, why would they make them if they didn't intend to make it more usable? I do agree that expecting someone to out punch someone in a suit of armor is silly, umm but so are exploding chickens, that doesn't make them less fun.

They should add some polish for vampires, such as "vampire claws" that have there own kill cams and increase un-armed damage greatly
