Archery post 1.5

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:23 pm

The kill cams on miss is actually pretty sweet in my book, watching that arrow just barely missing its target...

Edit: Not talking about any paralysis bug, but otherwise.

Wow literally the worst post i have ever read. Anyway...

Toggle shouldbhave been an option from the get go. I can understand no toggle for some features the developer doesnt feel you should have.but this game has been out for months without these dumb killcams. I get them almost everytoime i kill someome! I haaaate them. Why would archery ever need a killcam? I need to see the target to shoot them in the first place so i can obliously see them die. Also when they happen inside ive had about 5(so far) where the killcam actually obscured my view of the death! Lets not.even talk about how much time it goves enemies to run up on you.

These guys know how to make a huge world but as game desihners bethesda just cant compete eith other big name studios. There are no excuses where the [censored] is the toggle? when i bought this game there were no killcams and i am forced to playbwoth thebworst kill cams for any game ever. They also broke the number 1 rule for kill cams. Kil cams will...and always wil be
.....for VERY VERY VERY LAST bad..not second last THE last bad guy. Removing player control for ecen a.split second is bad game design.

But then again mybfirst playthroufh was on ps3 so.im not stranger tl my xontrol.imputs not happening orbhappeneing late anyway ps sory for the phone typimg

As an aside, I love the "toggle" response to everything.

With a fixed budget, nothing is going to get past the cost-benefit anolysis that would then just be thrown out by the addition of an on/off toggle.
With limited resources, you only include things that you've decided are worth everyone having. The killcams are one of them.

On this forum, many folks clamour for the addition of this or that aspect that is very near and dear to them... and when someone comes along and points out that not everyone would want this, the original requester says "make a toggle to turn it off!".
It makes me think that some folks don't get how a business works, and that although you'd like to have everything under the sun included and toggles galore, that is just not realistic. You have a budget, you have a deadline, and you try to make the best game that the most amount of people will like. To include toggles for stuff is to waste time making the toggles where you could be making other things that in your opinion everyone will enjoy.

The problem with your logic is that it assumes that there are things that "everyone will enjoy." But everyone is different, and there are lots of things that some people (maybe even a majority of people) enjoy and other people (maybe a substantial minority) absolutely hate. Kill cams, GPS compass, sneak crosshair, auto health regen, etc.

Sure, Bethesda is not going to spend a lot of time programming new features that only a few people will use, but making toggles to turn off existing game features doesn't take that much time and it seems like it would make business sense to make some more toggles to make the game have broader appeal by allowing people to turn off things they don't like.

...And as Combobreaker observed, this feature was not in the game I paid for. It was added later.

-Aiming seems to be skewed, in that after 1.5, the target doesnt seem to represent the sweet aiming spot like it used to - i seem to miss one in two shots now, where i never did before, especially when aiming at a moving target.

I'm definitely experiencing this one. It's especially prevalent the closer you are to your target. It's almost as if the arrow hits down and left to where you are aiming.

Is anyone else having issues with archery after 1.5?

Man, I hope its not just me!

I also experienced this after 1.5. Before, I used to be able to nail just about any target in one shot that it was getting boring. After 1.5, although my weapon damage for my Daedric enchanted bows increased significantly, it now takes multiple shots for me to bring down an enemy. I kind of like it better now because it's a little more challenging for me.

Aside from my frustration with the new kill cams i find archery to be the same as pre 1.5. Oh also i think the new water transition looks sweeeet
