I still play on Xbox for the most part, dabbled a bit on PC at a friends.
I don't really care for mods but I did love how the load times were a thousand times better.
Takes you 35 seconds to transition into an area on xbox and takes 5 on PC. What the hell?

The load & save times are very quick for me because I use a solid state drive as my boot drive, which is where the game saves are stored. The game loads too fast for me to read the quotations.

I wouldn't be able to play it on console I think. Skyrim is a perfect base. But it's only a base. Like a lot of people are saying, this game has been stripped of a lot of possibilities, a lot of options. The real skyrim for me is modded.
A simple mod to make the dragon challenging and interesting to fight completely change the game. It transforms a half boring combat gameplay in an amazing one. And that's only the fight part, there's so much more to it... And no it doesn't cost that much. A gaming pc over 6 years is more expensive than a console. But it's faaar from 2500€ like I read here. And games are cheaper. In the end, a gaming pc over 6 years is not so expensive compared to a console + a weap pc + more expensive games. Especially if you play a lot of different games.

That is one of the main reasons why i think consoles are good babysitters nothing more

Just about every game is better on pc , plus add the fact. That skyrim pc version is so mod friendly it just makes the game so much more replayable

Nothing personal to console players but in my opinion playing games on a console is a waste of time and money mostly because there are no console games out there that will inspire me to play it for longer than 10 minutes

Quite happy with my console version. If I am ever rich I will have all the consoles AND a gaming PC. The only thing my PC is going to be beefed up for is civ. :D

As much as I am a PC player, I am still crying about red dead redemption. The only ps3/Xbox exclu I ever wanted (well, dark soul but we'll have it)

I'm on the PC at the moment. Already sold my 360, will still get the new xbox when it comes out in a couple years though. For me it would have been an easy decision if I still had the xbox though, certain games are better on consoles and certain games are better on the PC. TES series is one that is better on PC, so I would go for that.

When first released though, what a nightmare, I actually told my mate to buy the xbox version and not the PC version due to all the bugs, now a few months down the line with all the performance fixes and the mods floating about I feel like I really screwed him over.

I doubt i'd be playing anymore if i wasn't on PC. My mod list is ever exapanding :hehe:

Race mods allows me to have a character with features NPCs don't have (tattoos and such). Equipment mods gives more variation to the game. Various texture and lighting mods make the gameworld look more vivid. Increasing perks per level helps to make every character feel different very early on. Gameplay mechanics altering mods makes it more agreeable with me. SkyUI and Categorised favorites menu make the gameplay a lot more fluid by reducing the downtime spent on menus significantly. Improved map makes navigation easier, and removing everything but N,W,E,S from compass make me need to use it ^_^

So no, i'll never buy a Bethesda game for console if i have a choice. Because my console is a PS3 :hehe:

I do appreciate the "turn on the power and play" funtionality of the consoles, especially since my PC has had mysterious display driver related problems lately, but i feel that Bethesda's games are meant to be customised ^_^

The real positive side about consoles for me is the opportunity to have some "exclusives"..otherwise i've never bought one

I've been thinking about getting a new more powerful PC for a while now, and I have been looking at getting one that will be capable of running Skyrim well, mainly for the mods of course, problem I have is I'm not entirely sure what type of performance I'll need to or how much money to spend. If I do get one eventually I will be switching to the PC version.

If anyone is able to point me in the direction for a good PC capable of running Skyrim well I would be thankful.

I basically use my consoles to play console exclusive games. I played Halo 1 a lot on PC. Then I had to get an Xbox 360 to play Halo 2 and 3. Then I had to get a PS3 to play Wipeout and other PS3 exclusives.

Of course the choice of the hardware will be on the basis of your budget and your needs. You've to stay at least on the Recommended Requirements to have a great gaming experience with Skyrim - but i suggest to goin' with a better hardware for other modern games - and even for the future.

However, there is a dedicated section here on the forum where you can ask

I play on XBOX and i have no intention of ever getting the PC version. I dont need mods, i play the game the way it was intended and still enjoy it. Id have to flay my own scalp if i ever became a PC Elitist
I am more of a PC gamer as it seems, but I used to despise PC gaming because of the way PC gamers on sites with many console gamers presented themselves. They'd always act like PC gaming was some foreign religion that was based around being a bigger jerk than the next jerk. This site's whole "teh casuauuuuls!" thing is just a sit-com compared to the advlt Swim type of lack of any idea of the word polite and respect PC gamers display on sites that have had more console gamers longer.

Seeing as I am a snob towards porting a console game to the PC and vice verse, I can't say much. I also have forgotten all the insanity of the elitism for the better.

I could play Skyrim without mods, as well. I couldn't do that with Morrowind after a few days of playing it just because I had my fill of the un-modded game and was going to use mods anyways. Though, patches that fix things official patches overlook are always awesome. So is the horror mod for Morrowind(it's some of the best horror in a video game since Silent Hill 3 from my experience. It messes with the mind and simply hits the right notes. And doesn't have that annoying run from the red light thing that Silent Hill 3 does.).
