Things you saw in your childhood that you still haven't been

Well, like I usually do when a topic like this crops up, I have to share one story that shook me to the core.

When I was a teenager, I liked to leave my television on in my room all the time. Usually it was because I was - and am - an avid video gamer, and will constantly leave the TV on for hours on end just in case I want to 'go back' and revisit a particularly frustrating level if it had been giving me some trouble. Well, one night as I was returning to my room, the television - which I could see through my open door - suddenly drops the game I had been playing and turned to pure static. At first, this was just an 'Oh Crap, I lost my progress!' sort of thing since I hadn't saved for a while, but then the TV - as I watched - suddenly went pure, blindingly white.

I don't mean in the 'static' way either. Pure, solid white, unbroken. It stayed like that for a few moments, before suddenly turning itself off. Stunned, I stood there and stared into the now pitch-black room in front of me - since the TV was the only light I really needed so I didn't bother turning on the rest of the lights - for a few seconds... Before I heard this laugh. It wasn't that loud, nor did it seem to come from the room in front of me really, but the sheer chill that it sent down my spine made me 100 percent unwilling to enter my room, at all, until the sun rose.

I slept in the living room, on the couch, with the lights on that night. When day broke, I went back into my room, checked it thoroughly, and came up with nothing. On top of that, when I turned my TV back on, the game I had been playing was still running right where I had paused it before... The memory of that still makes me quiver.

- A few months before we moved to our next house, I had a spare TV put in my room (Much to my delight) and was playing a game of Kingdom Hearts one night. I got up to go to the bathroom when my PS2 system shut off and my television went static. For one, my TV's AV channel was just a black screen. If my PS2 turned off, it would not give me static. And two, my TV then turned itself off completely. There was no power outage, since my electronic clock was still on. So there I was staring blankly into darkness freaking the [censored] out, then I get this nasty feeling that something was watching me. So...I got the hell out of there and slept in the living room.

I

When I was little, I once dreamt that I found something I had lost. I woke up the next day, and went to the location in the dream, and I found what I was looking for. It was rather odd.

Sounds like your subconscious working.
