[WIP] Project Solstheim

Post » Fri May 25, 2012 1:05 am

Great to hear it! In the meantime, aren't you concerned that maybe Bethesda might be planning to do Solstheim as an expansion?

If they do, we'll make an "addon" for the expansion ;)

I guess it's a win-win situation for you, as you could always use the meshes you've made to make other Dunmer colonies on the Morrowind mainland.

I think we're going to stick with Solstheim for now ;)

Of course. Islands are the way to go, IMO.

All I meant to say was, you've got a backup if you get caught out by a dlc. I doubt it'll happen (they tend not to like repeating themselves) but I guess you never know.

How are you doing with regards to finding out info about Solstheim in TES5?

It will be interesting to follow this mod but in all honesty I think Solstheim is one of two logical official expansions/dlc from Beth. That said I haven't played through the main campaign fully yet so what do I know? :P

As soon as I started playing Skyrim I thought to myself that Solstheim and High Rock mod projects would already have most of the assets they would need. I wish you luck in this project and will be keeping an eye on it.

Argonians are warm-blooded, actually. If they weren't they wouldn't be able to live in Skyrim.

You know, I actually really miss Solstheim... I'd love to see it in Skyrim!
Me too. I am really looking forward to seeing how this project turns out. Sounds great so far... best of luck to all of you! I'm sure it will be an instant download for me and an immediate fixture in my game.

Thanks for all the positive feedback! I'm sorry we haven't updated in a while, were waiting patiently for the CS to be released in January, then we'll start making weekly updates! (in a few cases monthly) :)

Did the merger happen in the end or did the project fall off the face of the Earth? :<

It would be good to know if either of the teams who've put their hand up for Solstheim are still going, as a lot of interest in a 4E 200 Morrowind mod, or group of mods, has been expressed in the Remake Morrowind thread - and Solstheim seems the ideal place to start.

If you are still working on it, please consider joining the forums at http://www.darkcreations.org/forums/forum/120-beyond-skyrim-discussion/.

This seems really interesting and I'm really looking forward to what way this might go. I assume it'll be as lore friendly as possible?

Found this topic accidentally, got my hopes up, only to fall into dismay when seeing this mod's initiators moved their attention rather to West (Hammerfell) and South (Summerset isles)... :(

A shame in dropping an very doable project, probably from worrying too much of Bethesda's potential DLC (?)... As has been said probably 90%+ of the Skyrim assets could've been reused for Solstheim, which would've allowed more focus on quests, NPCs, etc.

Oh well... Let's then only hope the fears of that DLC were not unfounded...

Cheers,
PKR.

Yes, you could make a killing with a Solstheim mod full of Skyrim's improved draugr.

Fortunately, there is a Return to Morrowind mod project that shows promise, and while the project lead has expressed no interest in Solstheim, it's open for claims.
