The fact of the matter is...Beth could have communicated with us better. I dont care what kind of contract they had with MS, they could have issued a statement with more information than what we got. Communication is the key to a successful business.....no matter what business you are running. Communication/feedback to your customers is equally as important. I run a business myself. You do EVERYTHING in your power to keep the customer happy....thats it. No one held a gun to their heads and forced them to release the DLC.......we are not even asking for dates....its UPdates we are looking for. Silence creates chaos...communication creates satisfaction.

People are just assuming the 30 day exclusive is up. It might not have even have started until Dawnguard was released for the FIGS. For all we know Microsoft are completely within their rights to do that.

They said it'd be weeks until we see patch 1.7, and under the assumption that 1.7 is preparation for Dawnguard, that means it'll be weeks for Dawnguard.

Yep.

Expect a mid-late August release date. Hell maybe even September.
Purely an estimate, but given that they said "weeks," then yeah I think that's a reasonable estimate.

funny thing both companies are alienating one platform that has made them both rich in the past... the pc runs on windows so MS is discouraging gamers from using their OS..

The whole communication problem is why I signed up here in the first place- my first thread was asking about why on Oblivion Bethesda is so secretive about all of the things we've been asking them about. It managed to get Gstaff's attention, but it appears that my suggestion for them to communicate more actively had no effect. It figures.

I find it pretty amusing that almost every thread on the first page is locked, and they're all Dawnguard threads.

You done goofed Bethesda.

That's because most people own a PC to begin with; no need to promote it.
An Xbox though? Many people are strictly PC gamers, and they need convincing to buy a console.

Microsoft get about $150-$200 dollars for each copy of windows sold so discouraging gamers from using windows is just bad for their wallet

and there is linux which is free and from some reading I have done may be getting more support from valve.

Do you honestly think a mahoosive company confronted with two ways of making money would honestly choose the one with the lowest yield?

Ahhh....Suddenly this all makes sense now. Hmm, so this is all because of M$ battle against Steam's market. Think about it. What are the primary facilitators of Steam?

PC and PS3.

Who are the guys getting shafted in this scenario?

PC and PS3.

M$ knows that cultivating the PC market isn't worth it anymore, because Steam is slowly, but surely, cornering it with their superior business ethic. So they're basically bribing Beth for these exclusivity rights so they can get their capital first, which means Steam/Sony's capital will suffer from second hand sales. I think it's M$'s aim to have these exclusivity rights hurt the sales of PC/PS3, and for Beth it's not really a bad thing either since they get the extra cash from M$.

Very clever, and I think its working well in M$ favor. Unfortunately, the gamers lose.

Very displeased to hear that because I had bought this for ps3 i was unknowingly buying a game that was already at a disadvantage, and then them , not even giving us any information on the new DLC. Although I'm glad i recently bought this on steams summer sale so I'm lucky that i have mods at my disposal now. For all you ps3 fans out there though i feel your pain on feeling like we have been left in the dark on this whole project. and not even getting 1.6? really?
