@OP
I agree with most of your statements about NV.
The poor character customization is the same.
This is quite true, although at least they made out a good feature for it, selecting the age of your character. Other than that, it's just like Fallout 3.
The graphics are the same.
Of course they are, the engine is the same, although some changes were made, Bethesda can't afford the luxury to update the graphics just because a few people have super computers with wicked sick graphic cards and what-else.
The annoying glitches like getting stuck behind doors and mobs getting so close you can't hit them are the same.
Although this is true, no game is flawless.
Then they added the pointless crafting, pointless gambling and pointless card collecting and the pointless companions...
Sure, crafting ain't essential in the game, but it gives more motivation, more usefulness of misc items and junk items around the wasteland so we can actually craft useful items. About the gambling, i actually find it nice and i can actually spend a good time gambling around in New Vegas, also the caps are good. Now, pointless companions, now that i have to disagree. How are you going to survive the wastes without a friend covering your back? Not talking about the über perks they share with you, but the actual motivation and story that your character and companion can tell. Just RP it.
One thing i can actually dislike would be the factions. Because, in Fallout 3, there's no sides. It's just you, your story, your background, your guns and ammo. While in New Vegas, you gotta choose a side, it's nearly impossible completing the main quest without choosing a faction.
Other than that... the game is fine. Let's just enjoy it while we desperately wait for TES V for years now.
