Refugee journal game

Oh yeah... I had forgotten that. Good point!

I deliberately made Jesse somewhat of an enemy, while keeping his sister somewhat of an ally. Plot twists are delicious.

As for the other regulars, please correct me if I have assumed too much or too little with these 3 informal rules. They're just some basic things that I have seen working well in all other Refugee journal game posts.
You hit the nail right on the head there. But I'm pretty sure Bloodhound had earlier posts into the story, in fact they did follow the rules in their first post, it kept the story rolling but their newer post has been more bare-bones then most posts. I just have one question... what else did The Mummy do that day? Also we should probably get back to the story, I mean like the post count=day thing.

Day 127

Brittany and me have been arguing on where we can hide from all this over the past month, both factions want me dead to keep me quiet so I don't say anything to the other faction. I've finally healed from my shoulder wound, except for the muscles inside my shoulder are completely messed up, I can't perform parkour for a long time, so my practice with Jack has been shortened. His getting better, and even goes on daily runs to pick up any supplies we can use.

I've built another shelter, much like the one in my container city home, in Brittany's basemant. Its much smaller then the last one but much more reinforced, I even tested it with that rifle I've been carrying around for weeks that the bouncer gave me, actually speaking of the devil, he came by earlier he wanted to know if I've seen any resistance members nearby. I told him I saw a man wearing the bag I left at the prison, he was speaking to himself and had a Caesar on him, it was mine though, his had a pop can, on the barrel of the gun. He must be insane to be using that. But I guess I better get back to explaining the shelter, I tested it by shooting a half clip into the shelter, the bullets only dug through a mm of the steel frame. The shelter is exactly 5 cm worth of steel, scrap metal, and anything that I think would be necessary.

Jack seems impressed in the shelter and seems to be acting alittle more like what he used to be, always questioning Dad about what this does, and what that word means... but hes not exactly himself. He acting more angry... whenever the Jesse comes by to check on everyone, (and to snarl like a wild boar at me) Jack would backtalk him, and always question his motives. The Jesse simply looks at me and says "You've raised great cannon fodder bud", I knew doing anything would probably end badly, so I decided to just keep away from him, me and Jack are now always working on improve the shelter's effectiveness while the Jesse is here.

I can't help but feel I'm missing something here...

Day 128

I urgently need to speak with the Commander. I had to explain to him that my wound was healed, and that I was ready for combat once more.

I started walking down the street to the Commanders quarters, and caught a glance of Jesse speaking to someone. I hurried around the corner, and arrived at the Commanders. A couple guards ran by, yelling, Looking for something... A rustling noise came from the near by trash cans. I slowly walked towards them and started to move one of the cans. A small boy was hiding behind them, clutching a loaf of bread in his arms. He was sobbing, trying to hold it back.

"What's wrong little one?" No answer. We stared at each other, probably thinking the same thing. "Why do you have that bread?"

He mustered up a trembling voice, and answered, taking deep breaths between every few words. "I stole it. The guards were chasing me, and I needed to hurry to my mother. She is very ill. She's been that way for almost two weeks. I don't want to loose her.... She's all I have...." He then began to cry, and I assured him everything would be alright. I offered my hand, and helped him up.

"Where do you live?' He pointed to the red building around the corner, and we started towards it. When we arrived, I opened the door, and quickly glanced towards his mother. She coughed, and rolled on her side, so I didn't bother asking questions. I spoke to the child once more, "If you ever need my help, just look out for me. I'm only a couple of houses down that way...." He nodded, and I walked away, thinking about how I could help his family. I arrived at the commanders place, and right as I was about to knock on the door, it opened. There stood the commander. He had a very grim look on his face, and none of us said a word. I quickly walked inside, and sat down on his couch.

"We have a very serious matter on our hands..." said the Commander.

I didn't understand what he was saying, and simply asked "And what would that be Sir?"

"They've stolen our robot prototype." In that moment, time seemed to slow. I knew if we didn't get that thing back, we'd be in danger....

He's not supposed to be on any side, so it would make sense if he fears them both. He has, after all, seen both sides and how abusive (probably not the right word) one can be to the other.

I guess I'll continue...

Day 129:

For hours, I paced back and fourth in my room. I went into a deep thought about how I was going to get back that prototype. The odds were stacked against me, so I'd have to assemble a squad. I asked several of my closest allies if they'd be interested in helping, and gathered a group of about five people. Just enough for a night raid.

The next day, we gathered in a remote location. We planned, and eventually came up with a passable strategy to get that prototype back. We would execute at night. Luckily there was a very thick fog, because of this, our job was made so much easier.

Night came, and we met, once more, at our previous spot. We got on top of a guard post that separated the the north from the south. This gave us a good vantage point of the area that was ahead. We spotted several resistance around a fire, we couldn't hear them, but they were armed. I sent two groups of two out on recon, and waited, for what seemed like hours.

Finally, the squad returned, the group that went east, found a trace of the prototype, but didn't actually find it. This was progress. We jumped down from the tower, and ran across rooftops until we came to the trail. It was a thick, oil type substance that led down an alley towards a large warehouse. Surprisingly there were no guards in the area. It was near darkness. This was our chance. We climbed to roof. It was torn up badly, there were missing pieces, missing parts of the beams, and each one was an easy entrance. There was no way we could get this thing out now, obviously we were under prepared. We returned home. I felt very accomplished know that I at least knew where the prototype was. My only problem would be getting out....

Hey guys just trying to clear some things up, my last post I said it was day 127, trying to get the post count=day thing back on track, but that didn't last long. Also, I thought he was trying to get away from both sides, why is he suddenly working for the security again? Lastly, since its been month (referring to day 127 post), his shoulder actually has healed. So, just trying to get every plot hole patched up.

Well maybe he does want to get away from both sides, but not show it. IDK I am just saying stuff.

I never said he was with the Security. Plot twists ftw! ;)

What I'm planning on doing is, or maybe someone will continue it this way, is he's trying to create allies within both sides. That way he can have help on both sides if need be.

And I fixed my shiz. I removed the mentioning of the wound, and changed the day.

Mwahahaha, once again I am trying to balance some friggin cool story progressions with my understanding of the plot. I loved the last installment, but was kind of confused as to where he got the allies from. It seems so far that with the exception of Jesse, most Security don't dislike him, but few of them seem to like him either. And as for the Resistance, it seems that pretty much everyone considers him a traitor. Who are these able-bodied people that are working with him (especially considering that he seems to be there leader)?

Also, I was wondering who the "Commander" is. Is this the Bug? I had thought he was a colonel... Did I miss the introduction of a new character?

And finally Blaven, my condolences for the screwy timeline. Should we try and set everything back on track through edits, or should we just say that he was drunk the day that he wrote your entry,,,? :whistling:

Well, we skipped ahead a month. Lots could've happened in that time. Example, making allies.

And as for the Commander, he's just one of those filler characters meant to deliver bad news.

An anology would be a nurse on a soap opera. Useless. Just there to say a line or two, and never be heard of again.

What was your favorite part of my entry? You said you loved it...I would like to know "what" you liked about it!

Am I the only one that has this in a tab 24/7?

Frankly I'm having difficulty keeping up with what in the world is going on in this story anymore. I wanted to write more parts for it but its taking such odd turns I cant even think of anything to write anymore. It seems like the main character has become far more important than he should be but..Yea I don't know maybe I missed that point somewhere.

Well, I explained in an earlier post why the robot is important. And I fixed my entry. It now explains why he was headed towards the commanders house.

Well, it's not so much a story. It's a journal. By that I mean it can change, or take a right turn at any given time.

Ok, the robot is important because if he returns it successfully, he will make some allies in the Security.

I thought this was the defusal robot? When I made my posts concerning a robot, that was what I intended the robot to be. I hoped someone would pick that up.

"Defusal robot prototype". So I'm guessing the real thing would have a Gatling turret or something :P
