I hope it propels them a few feet. I would have fun shooting people over a cliff or a rail or something.

For that you will need the "Bagzooka!" A bazooka that fires beanbags :P. I am happy to hear that there will be none lethal ammo. Ways to get around killing people, always good in my books.

They actually list the number of shot and how much damage each pellet does. That's pretty useful. They already have around 5 shotguns confirmed, so we're probably only going to see one or two more that aren't on the list. Check it out at The Vault. I'm hoping for something full auto.

Looks like my shotgun thread has fallen behind. Anyone else going to add on or is it just going to die?

Also I am still hoping they add the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winchester_Model_1897.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breaching_round They could be used as an alternative way around some locked doors. :D Could be Rare ammo found in police stations. Using them will not make the people on the otherside of the door happy.

hmm i think i have a good idea for a fictional one

Imagine a tommy gun, (mafia style not thompson style) make the barrel bigger (by a huge amount, like fist sized for HUGE fictional shells) put the clip on TOP, flip it upside down, and the forward grip now 'pumps' the shotgun. So you would wield it similar to a machine gun. If i described this enough youll see the pure kick@$$ed-ness of this.

This would be a good alternative for those who didn't invest many points in lockpicking.

It would be nice to have an alternative way to open doors, Like in FO 2 you could simply kick some doors open, or set an explosive etc. as opposed to FO3 where it boiled down to:"either you have a lock picking skill high enough or you're not getting in". It's one of the reasons my stats always had to lean toward a lock/hack compensating build in 3. Not that that was diffiult to do in that game, of course.

If you find yourself with alot of shotgun ammo you don't like take it to a work bench and replace the shot with cigarettes. Still kills people if they are up close. No real reason for this other then fun.

The lever action shotgun seemed like it had a really high rate of fire. It's a shame 10 shells to the face doesn't kill though. Hopefully slugs will be enough to get past those flimsy metal helmets.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPi8UG3dlF4#t=5m40s I know there is 3 basic types of shot bird, slug, and buck. If there are anymore out there I would like to know, but I think that is pretty much it. I would also like to know what shotguns would you like to see in Fallout:NV? (other than the ones he have already seen of course)

For me I would like to see the Winchester Model 1897 Trench Grade.

You forgot sabot "Slugs"
I would like to see the shotgun pistol from halo the Mauler Or The one from battlefield bad company 1& 2 Neostead 2000 Like a Double barrel but wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Cooler :cold:

I would like to have a shotgun/shotgun ammo that shoots explosive bullets. Would love to have 20 gauge explosive shell and shoot group of molerats with it. :celebration:

And maybe some Epic 10 gauge nuclear shell, that shoots 10 mini nukes at the target, ofcourse you could shoot as normal shells with quite high rate of attack speed. :)

Shotguns seem a little weak from the demos. It took at least 6 shells to the face to kill someone with a flimsy little helmet. That just svcks. Hopefully slugs will be a lot more effective.

Yeah whatever happened to the EMP shells? Personally, although I felt they were a little ridiculous, I used the crap out of them in Tactics. Maybe it was because you were largely fighting a robot army of doom, and instead of rendering shotguns ineffective (as they really would be against a robot army of doom) the developers added a little flavor to the game by simply changing the name, color, and damage of an already existing ammunition.

I would like to see this implemented in New Vegas in the form of buckshot or birdshot. Better save a little of both cause you never know when you need stopping power.
