I'd like to see a revolver that let's you switch between 410. shot/slug and 45. LC. Just because a shotgun handgun seems crazy. Well that and it actually exists, although it holds five rounds.

I'm looking forward to firing a slug into some raider scumbag so much. The pump-action shotguns in the game looks pretty fun to use. The Combat Shotgun from F3 was a bit bland to me; they didn't really feel or sound powerful. It'd be cool if there were clear shells too, so we could see the huge lead buckshot pieces being loaded into the 12 gauge.

Different Chokes for the shotguns. The range of a shotgun can be increased by reducing or "choking" its bore to a smaller diameter at the muzzle. You can make the "shot" (bird/buck) go further or make it disperse as soon as it leaves he barrel. Or make it disperse at a medium range. If we can make are own ammo I am hoping we can change the choke as well.

Buck shot has bigger bullets than bird shot. The smaller the gauge the bigger the bullets. IIRC. So then a 1 gauge is a solid slug while a 100 gauge is a swarm of tiny bullets

The larger the gauge the smaller the gun so a 100 gauge would be really really small, 410 is the smallest and the name "410" is in caliber so it is actually a 67 to 68 gauge shotgun. Also a 1 gauge would be like an artillery piece.

I would love a model 1887, but they'd have to make you reload the lever Terminator style (flip it around your hand)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPi8UG3dlF4#t=5m40s I know there is 3 basic types of shot bird, slug, and buck. If there are anymore out there I would like to know, but I think that is pretty much it. I would also like to know what shotguns would you like to see in Fallout:NV? (other than the ones he have already seen of course)

For me I would like to see the Winchester Model 1897 Trench Grade.

The most lethal of the shotgun rounds (at medium/long range) are the Sabot Slugs. Not quite the same as a regular slug, and usually used with a Rifled Choke Tube - but the range over a regular slug is at least 50% farther with good accuracy. Of course modern ammunition usually makes their Sabot's in hollow-point (like the Winchester Dual Bond or XP3 Sabots). They are good up to 100 yards at least and travel at ~2,000 fps (which is getting into rifle bullet range) and can drop just about anything short of an elephant or rhino in the first shot.

Maybe too advanced for a Fallout universe, perhaps this will be something we mod into the Weapon Mod Kits once the game is out..

I personally LOVE shotguns, and take my Maxus around with me like Linus's blanket, so I can't Wait to see the new ammo types and expanded shotguns in New Vegas!

I LOVED the double-barrel shotgun from Point Lookout DLC and I'm looking forward seeing that ingame. I just love the pure power of that gun when fully repaired, shooting three raiders' heads off with one single blast in a point blank range.. Ahhh..

Wow when did that poll pop up, but getting back to the topic at hand, I'd love to have a choice in ammo for a shot gun. I probably would go with buck over slug though even though a slug would probably have the highest damage and pottentially put a beast or person down quicker, a shotgun is not a shotgun without some sort of spray of projectiles.

But I wouldn't count out bird shot, the Terrible Shotgun in F3 was my best friend for sneaking through metro tunnels or DC ruins after finishing Broken Steel to get those last few trophies. Although the enemies were quite leveled, with 100 in all skills but big guns and speech, silent running plus all the crit perks with 10 in luck and all other special attribs; all you do is creep up and point blank any creature in the head for a kill. Even walking into a room full of overlords was a walk in the park. It was the most fun I had that was made all the better with the bloody mess perk.

Every RPG needs variety. The more the merrier. The more thing you put in the game the more the player will enjoy.
