Shotguns

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 9:46 pm

I want tighter choke patterns, bird and buckshot, rifled slugs, and FRAG 12. Even the Terrible Shotgun in FO3 was horribly random and unreliable. I remember the riot shotgun in FO1 and 2 looked an awful lot like the Jackhammer prototype and had full-auto burst fire. Bring that mother back or do something like an M3, M4, or an Atchison AA12.

I'd love to see the Pancor Jackhammer, that thing is a beaut.

The http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Pancor_Jackhammer#Pancor_Jackhammer "Jackhammer," was in Fallout Two as well as Tactics. So I would like to see it in Fallout New Vegas. At least a gun alot like it (given a fallout name), I would love to have a full auto shotgun shooting slugs.

So was the H&K CAWS.

Oh yeah, I know. The Vault is where I first learned of the Jackhammer. :hehe:

I just plain want to see a gun that looks like it and goes full auto. If it's called the Jackhammer, even better. It's a great design, especially with the bullpup magazine (bullpup means that the magazine is behind the trigger/grip).

Anything more powerful than the two shotguns we got in Fallout 3 would be welcome. Since they said there are going to be over twice as many weapons, I'm looking forward to seeing 4+ shotguns in the game. Ammo types are a welcome addition too even though I'm still skeptical as to how this is all going to work out and if it's going to to be a glitchy buggy mess.

I really dislike the sawed off shotgun.
Shotguns are usually my favorite weapon types though, but the feel of them could have been improved in this game.

Rounds I would like to see. A water based supression round. To knock down and irradiate enemys. And blow up explosives safely.

But I love the sawn off always find it early on. As it does leathal damage is light. Counts as a back up in my eyes. Has a good rpg effect in my mind.
If you are a smallguns character and you get one at springvale high school it makes the next inclosed areas alot easier.

Also the combat shotgun in Fallout 3 was just a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PPSh-41 that for some reason shot shotgun shells semi-auto.

I loved the sawed off, espicially for role playing, the only thing bad about it is the low, unrealistic damage :(

I would like it more if it didn't look like it was thrown in a wood chipper and glued and taped together when a lot of other guns in the game don't look so bad for being 200 years old. Same thing with the hunting rifle. What I think they should do is still have the beat up ones, but special ones look new and well kept.

Edit: I also agree with you about the damage, but since the barrel is shorter and no stock I would see poor accuracy.
I take that back about it being thrown in to the wood chipper and so on. I must of made a image of what is looked like in the game. I was not sure so I got on Fallout 3 to see if I was right, but I wasn't it is just rusted a good bit. I am right about the hunting rifle though. :P

When it comes to shotguns I would like to be able to take them to a work bench and make my own sawed off shotgun.

Yeah and not just double-barrels either lever actions and pump actions would be awesome sawed off.

I concur, sawn-off's shouldn't be a different weapon, they should considered one of the weapon modifications of a full length shotgun.

But isn't sawing off the barrel irreversible?

Shotgun Grenade Shells. Just google that and see it's real.

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.

I'd love that. I've seen them shown on military shows (Futureweapons)

If Black Isle is going out of the box here, I'd like to suggest Taser shotgun rounds, which also exist. In-game effect might have enemies shake a bit, then fall to the ground for around 5 seconds, then get up slowly. :flamethrower:

Yeah. But so are the modifications for all the other weapons, if I've understood it correctly :)

And I like the idea of being able to saw off some of the barrel of my shotgun to increase close range damage, and decrease accuracy. And for weapons like a lever-action rifle, you saw the barrel of to make it lighter and easier to have holstered? I know that Zo? in Firefly used a sawed-off lever-action rifle, and it looks badass :)

If that's true, fine, but I understood it the opposite way. :P

Then again, there shouldn't be a problem with a system of permanent and temporal mods, should it?

Yes ladies and Gentlemen there is a 1887 Winchester in Fallout new vegas!! You can see it in action in the New Vegas trailer.
Yeah we said 1897 pump-action not 1887 lever-action but where's that 1887 at I didn't see it.

It's listed as the Trail carbine on the Wiki and is shown killing a Cazador in the video.
