Show your weapons on your Avatar in 3rd Person...WHAT HAPPEN

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 2:32 pm

 I thought you were a console player? I just assumed cause PC has the armed to the teeth mod for this, but us console players are stuck with the bugged version. Hence you starting this topic, you were a console player, but if your on PC then why not use the mod?

Because the mod causes ctd's... I have tried everything to make this work... and by the way, I am running over 150 mods and all of them work fine together. This one doesn't. I have clean installed and only tried this mod, and this is definitely the reason my game CTD'd. Also to the peen who thinks we are complaining... again, its not something you have to agree with or want. I am just making a statement on a clear short-coming.

That is all.

Don't be a jerk.

Thanks for ur time.

I remember there was a sheath for your sword in 3rd person in oblivion. Now your character just puts the sword back and it disappears into the Void.

At least they don't do this with bows :o

I really would like to know what their reasoning was for not including this. It just seemed logical to have a place for you staves and weapons and seems like a step backward. Same with not being able to do a sprinting jump. Little things like that add up and pull you out of the experience.

Even two worlds 2 had sheathed swords on both sides....whatever. I have accepted that they probably will never fix this. Because the earlier poster was right, they don't really care bc not enough people really care. ah well

Beth said that dual-wielding was a late addition to the game, so it was probably added in after the character models were all finished

I highly doubt they would ever do anything about this, which is sad.

They do take the time to implement kinect though :(

Um, the system for showing equipted weapons sheathed is just like Oblivion except for staves disappearing. The complaint is they didn't advance.

The best I could do for oblivion is the "gear belt" which basically ads a bunch of stuff to a belt and makes it look like you have a knife or something else attached to you... and that is pretty lame too. I guess we can wait for the bandolier belt guy to make something... Or maybe the guy who made Armed to the Teeth will fix the mod...

oh and the kinect thing... well, no suprise...This game was made for the 360 and wasn't even optimized for pc when it was released. I think PC players screwed themselves with the pirating and now devs are more concerned with the consoles than the pc.. Especially with games that are so popular on the consoles.

Well, not that devs are not concerned with the pc (diablo 3 * cough*), but I think they are concerned with DRM and there is a great opportunity cost with respect to the consoles...So some features are going to get watered down... at least the next gen of consoles are around the corner... that should kick the bar a notch or two in ambition....hopefully

I wonder if there is the possibility that they will fix this in the future... I would hope so, but the difficulty of making the mod tells me that it might not make it into the game officially.

I know I seem like I'm on the defense of Skyrim a lot but doesn't this seem like an ignorant complaint compared to all the other feats Bethesda has accomplished in this game?

think of everything else they've developed and how much work they must have endured to get to this point and then think of what you're complaining about: an animation with the sheathing of weapons. literally the definition of nit-picking.

This is the very definition of complete idiocy & the adoring fan routine does you no credit at all, Suggesting that people cease to raise issues to avoid upsetting Bethesda's delicate constitution....You're having a giggle right?

@OP, Yes i agree, It would be nice if it was tweaked and it's definately an issue that needs to be discussed.

First, ignorant complaint makes no sense. Ignorant how? I never said that I hated the game... I am just pointing to something that has concerned me. I acknowledge that some don't care... They should go start forum posts on subjects they care about, including talking about how many great "feats" Bethesda has made. As a consumer, I am entitled to share my idea's here, and I appreciate feedback though...

I would argue that "concerned" is a gross overstatement of the issue.

That said, I do agree with you. I think it would be rather nice to see two weapons sheathed.

As well as the dual wield problem, my wishlist would include sorting out the clipping problem, especially when characters are seated etc.

I see so many swords and daggers disappearing through the leg of a NPC while they stand there talking to me. When they sit down, the sword, bow and other weapons often go right through the back of the chair instead of hanging down behind it or beside it.The weapon and NPC armor and chairs etc are all individual entities and should have their own collision zone to prevent that.

I'm pretty sure that a dev answered in a thread re this that they simply ran out of time. I can't remember which dev it was though.

That's fine. They ran out of time to put it in the game at launch...Does it mean they can never fix it? Armed to the teeth proves the concept works. I would hope that means a fix is not that hard to implement. Or maybe it is...

Its the same with magic staves. The player character just pulls a staff out of the thing air. Oblivion did atleast have a sheath animation for your magic staff.

Oh I agree that they should patch it in, I just meant that it wasn't in the game at launch due to time constraints, I read somewhere that they were playing around with more beastly legs on the beast races but ran out of time too.

If they added this in the future, I would think that you could set the weapons you want to have shown on your character. I really want this in as well.

I think keeping a dialogue going about the changes you would like to see is the best thing we can do. These guys are professionals and I am sure they have a lot on their plate...Hopefully they will get to it... or at least the mod for will work

How about fixing it when you are using 2 identical weapons for dual wield and it constantly unfavorites one and you have to go into the menu to re-equip them? One of many things that will never get fixed while they "game jam" until their faces are blue.

Huh. I used Armed to the Teeth and haven't ran into any CTDs thus far. Then again, I use the "custom weapons" version so it might be an issue with the vanilla .esps. Either way, it's pretty damn satisfying to see my character run around with a greatsword, dagger, bow and longsword equipped. Really is a massive oversight by Bethesda not to include this in vanilla.

One-Niner, I tried what you did and still get CTD's. I know some people don't get them, but a large enough number of people are having this problem that it is unlikely it is all due to human error. I hope it's just because I don't know where a conflict is or I am not installing correctly...

Anyway, I would like to see Bethesda implement a fix for this. I would love to hear an opinion from someone at Bethesda with regards to the difficulty of fixing this problem at this point in the game. I am fine if it doesn't work though. It is still a great great game so...
