Show your weapons on your Avatar in 3rd Person...WHAT HAPPEN

Even two worlds 2 had sheathed swords on both sides....whatever.

Your point? Saying "Game X has [blank] feature! So game Y should have it too!" is not an argument.

Actually, it isn't an attempt to argue anything. It's a figure of speech. Because I used the word "even", I was implying that a game like Two Worlds has said feature, you would hope that this title would have it as well.

For Example,

Even Gheart could get that girls number.

Just Kidding man, it was tongue and cheek anyway. It's hard to get tone across a message board though.

It is also not a feature. A sword sheath animation for your second sword just seems logical to me. Not like a game feature like say, mounted combat, or mounts, or any other number of things. This is just a matter of what the aim of this game was for Todd Howard and company. The game is going for immersion, and you would agree, that many of us love this game because it does immersion SO damn well in so many ways. I love this game. I am here as a fan first. We all love to see our favorite game's improve.

That is all.

I think it could be a nice improvement.

Bows disappearing when sheated, 2h weapons disappearing while using other melee weapons and, last, the clipping. Every single sword has its hilt clipping through the left arm of the character when seated in the scabbard.

People complained in Morrowind that equipped weapons were not visible, since Oblivion we've this system that allows one quiver and one melee weapon to be showed. It isn't exactly the best but, at least, npcs aren't now oulling their weapons out of thin air.

I still hope they can fix the Dark Brotherhood cowl model before the DLC. Maybe they can fix the sheaths as well?

Being able to carry 500 pounds of equipment in your pocket is somehow anoying, there is a mod however called "Bandoliers, bags and pouches" which adds carrying equipment to your 3rd person avatar which also increases carrying capacity.

I'll gladly add this to my wishlist for either the next patch or the expansion.
It would be a nice feature to have all equiped weapons on you when sheated.
I'd also be nice to have something thats been asked after since times Morrowind,Shield on Back.
Yeah, thats exactly what I want for the next patch if thats possible. I have been thinking the same about how awesome it would be to have shield on back when I'm using tourch, or just simply when there is no use like traveling/talking to someone.

Maybe we should start a petition for weapon slots!

I would sign that petition, but I am suprised at the number of players that don't care about this. Which is fine, but I feel like more people would see that second weapon appearing from thin air into your hand when you unsheath, and pops away when you sheath...

I don't know.

I care, definitely. Petitions aren't allowed here though I think. Make it a poll though. The question should be "Should characters be able to see their off hand / staff sheathed in third person?" or something like that, and the answers should be "Yes, characters should be able to see their off hand / staff weapons in third person" or "No, characters should never be able to see their off hand / staff weapons in third person"

That is a very good idea. I think there wouldn't be that much negative votes on that neither, because I think there are people either care or don't care. Simply there would be yes, for those who cares, but those who don't care won't say no neither, unless they don't want it.

OP
I think I have found a solution..... if you want your dagger to show on your hip along with your sword you need to have 2 of the same dagger in your inventory. I tested it last night, it wouldn't work with just a steel dagger and a steel sword and after a little thought I decided to put another steel dagger in my inventory, fav list. You then equip a dagger in your left hand and sword in the right, unsheathe, and then re-sheathe, remove armor / clothing and then re-equip armor / clothing and wa la you have a dagger on the same hip as your sword, which will remain there even if you switch out weapons( swap a bow for a sword ). The only time it stopped to work was when I change clothes / armor but all I had to do was repeat the process and the dagger showed on my hip again
Kinda svcks that you need to take up room with an extra dagger, but vanity has a price.

I guess you missed my post
As long as you have 2 identical axes, daggers( what ever type you want ) in your inventory and fav. list the extra dagger / axe will be displayed on your hip. All you need to do is equip one of those extra daggers / axes in your off hand along with what ever in the right hand, un-sheathe your weapons, re-sheathe your weapons, un-equip your armor / clothing, re-equip your armor / clothing and wala the extra dagger / axe is displayed on your hip and will stay there until you change an article of clothing / armor ( this includes rings and necklaces ). If you do change your style all you need to do is repeat the process and the extra weapon will be displayed on top of your new look

Wow, I had no idea you could do such a thing. Can you do this with bows?? I unfortunately don't double whelding. I want to know if you could do this with sword and shield on primery hands and have a bow on the back at sametime.

Cause that worked so well for the Kill Cam Toggle. :D

No, I cannot get the trick to work for bows, the shield counts as armor so the minute you equip it the extra weapon is unequipped and you need to repeat the process without the shield. It was a late addition to the game along with dual wield, but it wasn't refined so now it behaves like a bug instead of the way it was intended to and what I'm doing is forcing the bug to work.

Thanks Carrots. I prefer this trick to any of the available mods, because I can use any dagger (even a dagger from a mod) and sword combo... and the dagger stays when I switch to the bow.

Thanks.

Glad I could help  As a console player I some times have to get creative to get the game to do what I want

I still would rather have bethesda fix this problem, and then maybe I could see my bow and two swords at the same time.

I forgot to tell you that sometimes you need to repeat the process after loading your game after a short break or after entering a new cell while playing.

Yea, that's easy to do. Wish there was a way to copy that process of that bug to all the other weapon slots...
