I sincerely hope there's good werewolf stuff in Dawnguard.

Considering it won't even have been a year since Skyrim's release before this is (even counting the time for MS's testing and certification), I don't expect it to be near the size of a proper expansion.
One can hope that is what was promised, two to three add ons more like an expansion pack. I hope it is, beck it might be Skyrim was dished out in three years instead of the usual four to five years.

I think it's fair to expect Dawnguard expansion to be the size of the biggest expansions Bethesda released before, if not bigger.

I think lycanthropes are only getting a wolf perk tree maybe, unless the Dawnguard plot twist is that they are werewolves themselves.

All these reports of werewolf perk trees leads people to believe at least one Dawnguard is a werewolf. I mean how else would they apply a werewolf perk tree in an expansion, if it wasn't a questline related reward?

personally I wouldn't mind if Dawnguard are werewolves, that's actually better than just Dawnguard being normal people hunting vampires, otherwise it would just be the flipped side of Companions vs. Silver Hand questline.

At least then Dawnguard would be more significant. because as interesting as the Companions questline was, it didn't go anywhere and besides becoming a werewolf, there was no big reward for completing the questline, The Companions don't even have a leader system, so it's like another day in Skyrim.

Even though Mages Guild felt short and felt like you were just handed the leadership and there was no sense of gradual progression and promotion in that guild, the last guild reward was much better than the last 'rewards' The Companions guild gives.

The only reason I would want the Dawnguard to be werewolves, is if Bethesda throws us a curve ball and makes it so that the Dawnguard want to prevent the vampires from stealing the Elder Scroll so they can use it for themselves to help gain powers as werewolves.

I noticed that too. Also, the winged demon creature that the trailer was showing didn't really seem like a vampire to me. Okay, maybe a horribly mutated vampire. If I have to find a name for it, it looked more along the lines of a traditional gargoyle. The goblin-like face, the bat wings connected to the back and not to the arms, the upper part of the body being much wider and more muscular while the (digigrade!) legs seemed a little thin, the unpractical, huge size of the hand and claws.

These images are pretty much spot on but search 'gargoyle' on Google and you'll get a lot more.

and remember that disney cartoon gargoyles, the sun would make them turn to stone till nightfall

I had a feeling you'd catch on

Anyway, the gentleman narrating was obviously not a vampire: he lacked the standard black NPC vampire eyes, and most certainly lacked fangs...but his eyes were eerily similar to werewolf yellow. If anyone recalls, there was also a picture, before release, of an NPC in Jorrvaskr (I think it was an early build of Skjor) with yellow eyes whom many of us thought to be the signature of a werewolf.

There are other clues, for example the fact that neither is the word "vampire" uttered nor do we certainly see one. As it stands, there is no explicit evidence that this is even a vampire-centric add-on; we only infer so because of the nature of the trailer and the game jam video we all saw. While many of you may be quick to cry foul, I point this out merely to say this: Bethesda, as always, is being intentionally vague.

It may be focused on vamps, but I still think they would throw in maybe one or two things for werewolves.

Although honestly, it seems more focused on vampire lords rather than regular vampires

Um... the dude wants to destroy the sun. He talks about feeding on people. We see several vampire things, lords and feeding.

It's about vampires.

Well, destroying the sun could be a werewolf goal too, that way it is night time and that is when the moons are out.

Werewolfs time came and left with the Bloodmoon DLC for Morrowind, It is now time for the Vampires to dominate Skyrim!
If you wanna talk about that then lets bring up the fact the werewolves weren't even in oblivion and there was about as much vampire material in Oblivions DB quest line as there was werewolf material in the companions (not alot other than getting a chance to turn), so no I will not say its the vamps turn, we can share

It's totally okay to infer that. But it's still just an inference. Fact of the matter is that we have more information on Snow Elves and crossbows than vampires.

As I said, they're being deliberately vague.

Someone posted in the thread earlier that the "vampire lord" bursting through the wall was actually a gargoyle breaking out of its rock mold, and gargoyles are turned to stone during the day, so they would have a great reason to get rid of the sun

Aye; that creature certainly looked different than the other creature that we are assuming is a vampire lord. And I'm not entirely sure I got a good look at the creature who burst into bats (which, by the way, is an extremely cool thing to do).

yeah your right, because that thing had like giant horns on its head, and imo it looked like a person that transformed into the colony of bats but i could be wrong, but i REALLY want some wolf material in the game,

The main story is about vampires that does not mean it has to have everything one hundred percent vampire related, I am hoping we get other things not related to the vampires in any way variety is the spice of life.

Oh so tell me, when did they start working on the Dawnguard DLC??? because wouldn't be feasible to assume that they could have been working on some DLC before releasing the finished product skyrim? I think it would be safe to assume. Atleast if I were a game developer with the resources of beth I know I would have already been planning my DLC for my game before the game was even released that way I could give the consumers a great product (DLC) without having to make them wait close to a year to get it.

Actually, Bethesda confirmed that they did not work on or even conceive DLC before release :D In fact, they specifically stated that DLC will consist of things they want to add on to the game after they release it rather than thinking of things to toss onto it for money before so, and I'm pretty sure they also said that it'd also be in response to what the community asks for (someone correct me on that one). As it stands, we've been getting feature after feature inspired by the game jam stuff that we responded so well (read: wantingly) to, and from the looks of it, Dawnguard includes those vampire lords that looked so cool.

So no, this has not been in development since before release. In fact, it wasn't even thought of before release.

Pretty sure their are werewolves. When signing up for the beta it asks if your character is a vampire or werewolf. This could mean absolutely nothing and maybe does. But why ask both? Just something to think about I guess.

That's awesome! What else can you tell us about the beta? I'm on PS3, so I don't know anything about it.

Edit: If that doesn't confirm vampire and werewolf content in Dawnguard, I don't know what will.
