Ahh but as an Engy you are tied to your zone and do not get the damage buffs that soldiers do.

What damage buffs are you thinking that Soldiers get?

Soldiers give ammo, Engineers can buff weapons. Therefore, your Soldier might have a buffed weapon because my Heavy-Engineer had more ability-pips and buffed not only yours but one or two others who are rolling with you toward your object. :hugs: I would be happy to help you achieve your objective, and hope you would be happy to help me achieve mine as well. :P

Are you thinking of some other buff than this?

Medium Soldier. I am going to be the one leading the destruction against the Resistance, so why not choose the character specializing in grenades and resupplying.

You are in a different corner of the world than I ... I need to eat dinner soon! :foodndrink:

Sorry, I missed your question to me. Looking back through I still don't see it, unfortunately, at least in part because I see no question marks. Not trying to be rude, and I understand it is late there. Ask it again later if you are of a mind and I will do my best to answer.

A light operative, so I can sneak behind enemy lines and soften the enemy forces.

Um, I like to think that my comments to this point have been quite on topic. :foodndrink:

Thank you for pointing that question out to me, I am on XBL.

And my compliments so the topic "chef", if you will. The *combination* of size+class is what makes this game so interesting, in my opinion. I enjoy thinking about what are the "best" combos (in my mind, anyway! :D ).

Back on topic: As of right now I am still the only Heavy-Engineer vote!

Heavy Engineer. More likely though, I'll switch back and forth between medic and engineer.

As you level up, it might be quite possible to build one heavy character who specializes in neither but is at least better-than-average as both a medic and an engineer.

Light engineer

Reason #1 I want to be able to quickly place mines in chokepoints

Reason #2 - 3 steps

Step 1: Get to an unreachable spot for heavies and mediums
Step 2: Place a turrent
Step 3: :gun:

Reason #3

I also want to be able to get to the objectives that need repairing quickly and in style

I love how varied the responses are. It'll make an interesting game.

Putting it in an "unreachable spot," may have problems

1. It may too high/far to even fire at people
2. Although Mediums and Heavies can't reach it, their bullets/grenades can.

I would go light/engineer/sniper so i can go up high and snipe while i have a turret covering my back or have it rain death from above while i pop so headshots.

There are no one shot kill headshots, in case you didnt know...you would need a weapon buff to achieve those, and even then, maybe only on Light bodies.

1. As in unreachable, it was said that mediums can climbup to eye level I believe. Anything above that would be unreachable for them therefore, my turrent shall rain down on them! (Yes, there is probably a path where they could reach it from this low to the ground, but that is what mines are for... )

2. Yes, but it would last longer than it just being on the ground. Also if their bullets reach it, my turrent's bullets can reach them. (Yes, I know grenades could reach it behind cover, but a good throw would be needed)

Yes, this strategy can be beaten, but tell me a strategy that cannot be beaten by something.

I just hope you don't think turrets are going to be like they are in TF2. Yes, your turrets bullets can reach them, but in this game, a turret isn't a strong as a normal gun.

I haven't played TF2 actually so I really have nothing to compare it to. And yes, I realize that they aren't primarily killing machines and are used mostly to weaken/distract enemy forces in Brink. The "rain down on the enemy forces" was just me exagerrating.

I think I wanna try out a light soldier, for kicks. I like the idea of raining death from above: tossing grenades from the rooftops. Would also have the option, though, of playing courier and delivering ammo to the front lines.
Finally, I think this might make the 'best' sniper. Soldier gets a bonus to health (right?) and rocking a rifle and the 'Combat Intuition' perk... I think you'd be able to avoid enemy marksmen better, as well as have the increased health to take them one-on-one. Cause, hopefully as a sniper, other snipers will be your greatest enemy... unless you're actually just that good. Of course, with SMART, sniper perches probably wont be as secure as they seem.

(And please, no replies about there not being any 'real snipers,' or 'it's not one-shot sniping!' I know. It's just easier to use the term sniper. You all know what I mean, right?)

On a side note, about the rifles... anyone read anything about headshot damage bonuses?

Medium Soldier because I feel a Soldier needs to be quick on his feet but also take a bullet or two. Light Soldiers will practically be ninjas and Heavies will be like The Heavy from TF2.

In this game there are no ninja/assassins...im tired of people refering to the lights as ninjas

I'm going with Light operative...why?...because im addicted to the Metal Gear Solid games and other such "working behind the scenes" games
