Size/Class and why! All in one.

In this game there are no ninja/assassins...im tired of people refering to the lights as ninjas

I'm going with Light operative...why?...because im addicted to the Metal Gear Solid games and other such "working behind the scenes" games

Soooo... You'll be playing a ninja.

Heavy Soldier: Medic!!!
Heavy Medic: I'm Coming!!
*HS takes more damage*
HS: MEDIC!!!
HM: I'M COMING!
*HM makes it just in time to watch HS Die*
HM: Dang it.
----------------

That's how I picture a heavy medic being useful if Medics can't revive. Sorry, just sayin'

but they can revive....

I know they can, but even then they come when its almost too late. Reviving a teammate on the battle field is helpful but if you're being overwhelmed there's no way the two of them will be able to make it out alive.

Soooo... You'll be playing a ninja.

The anti-Operative backlash is a little tiresome. I think it's okay for someone to want to help the team in a way that doesn't involve being near any teammates. It won't be my class, but I think people who play operative because they want to be like Sam Fisher or Solid Snake aren't automatically deserving of ridicule. It's those who think they get to be the TF2 Spy and focus on backstabbing people that will be problematic.

I mean to be a medium Engineer. Essentially, I see the role and the body type as separate things, where body type is primarily about the way your character will fight, and role about the way you think of yourself in relation to your team. For combat, I like using an assault rifle, and I also like being mobile, so Medium is a good compromise. For teamwork, I like placing mines and sentries to control (to an extent) where the enemy goes, and I'll also like to be able to buff teammates' weapon damage.

I'll often switch to Medic, but seldom to Soldier or Operative unless necessary.

The backlash is kind of annoying, but of course so is the misconception about the purpose of Operatives and the abilities of Light body types. I say that if you can pull it off then more power to you (unless you're on the enemy team, in which case you can expect a face full of lead). Of course, I predict that a lot of people are going to be unpleasantly suprised when their 1337 ninja assassinations fail miserably.

I never said anything about bein a ninja, so Shisnopi...not only to my post but to Wyatt Waste Ranger's(and any other persons choice of character) u just need to keep ur :swear: trap :swear: shut...we have all discussed time and again what the pros and cons of each class/size and how each should not be used.

Not only was it you pointing the finger but the way you did it that ticks me off.

My primary is going to be a Light Operative for the reason that I enjoy scouting out trails, feeding information to my team and doing it as quickly as possible. I'm not being the Light Operative so I can ninja around.

I'm sure Wyatt's reason for wanting to be a Heavy Medic is because he plans on being in the thick of action and plans on staying alive long enough for his team mates to be healed fully when they get to each objective. Doing so is probably easier as a Heavy then a Light or Medium because as a Heavy you can stand in the middle of the battlefield and not have to worry about being picked off after being shot 3-4 times.

so again, keep such comments to yourself....if u cant then post them in a more pollite manner.

Heavy - As it suits my style of play (Big guns and plenty of rounds fired) :gun: .

Soldier - Lead from the front. Who the hell wants to climb on roof tops anyway? :P

Seeing how you turn my joke into a troll ( I was wholeheartedly kidding) I guess you don't need to take every post you see as an insult. I know that people think operatives are going to be ninjas. I don't agree with that, but the fact so many people want to play as lightweights is more amusing.

Its been said time and time again, each class has their ups and downs. I just hope people will realize that when the game comes out.

The Heavy Medic was just a joke by the way... I think its cool people want to choose classes that probably wouldn't be the norm in other games ( Heavy Operative anyone?) but it seems that my sense of humor is taken as trolling hear.

I would like to apologize but honestly, I don't feel like I should.

I have a feeling that the heavy operative will be the ace up a teams sleeve. It could be a deadly combination. Emphasis on the could.

I voted light soldier because Im fond of run and gun; mainly for the run bit - after all that's what has drawn me to the game to begin with.

That said I am still very much undecided with everything and I shall only make some sort of a more solid decision once I have a few hours
of gameplay under my sleeve.

Also depends on what the group I regularly LAN with does; because I see myself as a real "team player"
- Its not always about getting the kill; Im happy to put a few tags on a baddie or draw fire while a buddy finishes that objective. As such
I see myself chopping and changing an awful lot until a balance is struck within my clan :D

Heavy - I like big guys and big guns (Juggernaut, Hulk, I use Zangief in Street Fighter) and my primary role in class based games is always Medic.

First off

On topic: Light operative/soldier/engineer. I believe strategy beats might, I won't be camping though, this isn't modern killstreaks 2. Hacking objectives will be my main priority....then killing any the angers on sight. :gun:

I'm jumpin' on a bandwagon guys!!

In all seriousness, Light Operative, I know its what all the 10 year olds play, but what differentiates me from the 10 year olds is that i'm using an Operative, as an Operative, not a Ninja Warrior Assassin. The Operative's job isn't to be an Assassin, its to be the Saboteur, the Scout, the guy who provides tactical information about the battlefield, describes flanking routes, and spots enemies for his team. The Operative isn't one of the guys out on the frontline, he's one of the guys behind the enemy lines providing useful information, and that's how I plan to play it.

Ironic that the guy named Assassins actually knows how to play the Operative class.
Hey, I wonder if my teammates will be mad at me if I put mines next to them as they lay there bleeding out. If I can't revive them, I can at least use them as Operative bait right? Not directed at you, Assassin, just sort of talking for the sake of talking. :frog:

lol that's actually a good idea. And I reiterate from past posts, Assassin is a Pseudonym I adopted 6 years ago in middle school.

I'm just wondering, but how did that come to be your nickname?

And should I be worried? :unsure2:

He killed roaches for money. Low time contract killing.

Srsly though, the class I'd be least scared of is operative, especially a light one. I'll just send a hail of bullets every which way and when everybody is on the floor bleeding, I'll be a happy man.

Well hello sailor!

Ahem...

I dunno reptaR, it might end up being quite a niche role. Seeing as most people (who want to play Operative) still believe they're meant to be light. Still, more glory for you eh?
