Re: headphones: I love them. It makes a huge difference having a nice pair. My current headset are Sennheisers my brother got for half price ($150 instead of $300) a couple years ago. They sound phenomenal. They also shed the skin of their "leather" pads all the time. Leaves my hair full of black crud.

Be carful about native resolutions and TVs, most console games are displayed in 1280x720 resolutions. If your TV is larger the image will become distorted and stretched, reducing visual quality. Not sure what Skyrim's native setting is though, but i've never heard of a console game being 1920x1080.
That very much depends on the TV in question though. Some TVs are very good at upscaling the 720p input signal to the 1080p display, and some TVs are quite horrible. And of course, it also depends on the vision of the user if they notice it or not. So there's no universial truth about this, every situation is unique.

But yeah, there are very few console games that run natively at 1080p, mostly just smaller XBLA/PSN games that don't have advanced graphical effects.
