Skyrim is overall the best TES game.

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 5:16 pm

It clearly is imo. the combat graphics character customisation are all way better then past TES games. We have better Archery skills, Dual wielding ,daggers with Backstab skills . Two handed weapon skills. Finishing animations with decapitations . Smithing has been improved. We have Dragon fights now the characters look better then ever same with weapons and Armor i could keep going but i think you see my point. Sure there are some things that could have been better , but overall this game is the clearly an achievement and improvement over the past titles.

The combat is an improvement yes, but graphics do not make a game.

Skyrim has a unique world that is one of the best ever right alongside Morrowinds world.

In saying that Skyrim for me is held back by its agonizing amount of bugs this is the most bugged game I have ever played its worse off than NV in my personal opinion regarding bugs. Also the magic system we have now is lackluster compared to Morrowinds and Oblivions magic system.

Morrowind for me is the best ES game to date.

Writing and story wise? I believe it is the worst Elder Scrolls game.

Graphics and world wise? It's the best imo.

I would agree except for the way character attributes and creation were stripped out of the game This is unforgiveable.

Well, I'm not going into deep into a debate of vs. Skyrim. I'd say that after all the snipping and "streamlining" that's been done over the years, the TES series has gone backwards with depth... but they have gone forward with graphics technology.

There are more RPG elements in Oblivion than in Skyrim, but Skyrim's landscape completely blows Oblivion away. Morrowind was (and still is) one of the greatest RPG's I've ever played, but Skyrim's NPC modeling easly makes me forget the pixels that covers Morrowind's inhabitants.

In all honesty, Skyrim is easy on the eyes but it give me a headache to see that a lot of the "meat and bones" of a true RPG was stripped away. This is a good Action oriented game with some RPG elements.... nothing more.

Before the trolls come in, people are entitled to their own opinions.

It's my favorite Elder Scrolls game, and I've played the previous 3.

I do Agree, I can see where someone could like Morrowind better, or even Daggerfall. But as a whole, I find Skyim is the best, I enjoy the games story despite it's simplicity, I also find the Combat and gameplay is really good, a place where Morrowind drops the ball for me.

I disagree.

Skyrim is good though, it ranks high IMO.

Maybe number three, possibly two.

The leap from Morrowind to Oblivion was much more obvious than Oblivion to Skyrim.

I will agree that Skyrim is the best TES game if you compare them, however the devs promised a lot more than they actually delivered with this game.

Oblivion hab more Attributes Skyrim has more skills . More combat skills more Sneak skills more Archery sklills and more Magic skills. More skills peroid.

I hope you're not confusing skills with perks. If that's the case, then you're right... Skyrim has a lot more perks than any of the previous ES titles because they didn't exist until now.

But if you're serious in thinking that Skyrim has more "skills" than the previous ES games, than how can you explain the absence of Hand-to-Hand, Mysticism and Athletics?

While I do miss hand-to-hand, Athletics had to be the most useless attribute in the history of gaming. Did anyone make a character that didn't run?

Spot on. Exactly what i think.

I'm not saying i dislike Skyrim, i love it. Yet, the series is heading towards a more action adventure feel. This isn't a bad thing, the sales a lone will tell you that. However, i still play Morrowind to this day and graphics and combat aside, Morrowind is far deeper and has much better writing and stories to tell... And that is saying something when you realise that Morrowind isn't exactly a very complex game.

This is just my opinion though.

I really like Skyrim, but I honestly think that if they made a remake of Morrowind with updated graphics, and a mix between Skyrim's flexibility and Morrowind's vast array of options, it'd be better. Morrowind was the first game I played through properly, and the setting was fascinating, it's just a shame the graphics didn't do it justice. :P

I found the Athletics skill quite useful, to be honest. I loved the fact that I could keep pace with M'aiq and catch up on the latest rumor

Not only that, but I was able to outrun anything in Oblivion if I didn't want to fight it.

The perks come from Fallout: NV, and not only the perks...
The best game of a series is always the first one has played - it has a fundamental impact on all future expectations on the series.
