Really wish they'd give us first person view on horseback...personally can't stand fighting in third person!

They just need to fix the 3rd person combat, that's all. People usually want to see their characters that they spend a lot of time creating, and Bethesda fixed 3rd person a bit, but it's still pretty far off from most action games (which is what TES has become, more or less). This is particularly true for any ranged combat, and since that's roughly 2/3 of the archetype characters, it makes switching back and forth a necessity for many players. :(

Omitting first person view for horses was a 'design decision' (just like not adding a toggle option for killcams, no armor/weapon degradation) so I wouldn't count on Bethesda suddenly reversing their policy. They've elaborated on these things way back before the game was even released. I don't necessarily agree with their reasoning, but it's almost certain we'll never see these things officially in Skyrim. Mods, or console commands will be needed.

With the way Bethesda is pandering the fanbase by adding much-requested stuff.. I think spears will be next :P

Crossbows. Considering assets for them already exist in Update.bsa from 1.5.

Personally, I'm hoping to see that seasonal weather stuff next. That would be the absolute best thing I could ask for now that the navmesh bug is fixed.

Spears, Crossbows, Throwing weapons, Seasonal Weather, Mounted Enemies, Combinable Spells.... I mean if all that stuff gets released even in the next year or two I won't mind paying for pretty much all the DLC Bethesda throws at us as long as it's high quality.

I'll wait till OBSE updated to support before upgrading though since I have a few mods that I really don't want to give up...

Flails would be a pretty kick-ass thing to mod the Vigilants with.

My own limited testing also indicates that the navmesh bug is finally dead!

Hmm... they need to offer much more for magic than they currently do. I'll take that before seasonal weather, especially since Realistic Lighting, Better Snow, and Natural Rain already bring weather to life quite nicely. :P Combo spells, but really just having far better staff availability would be fine... and offer wands if you are going to do anything with weapons, Bethesda, long before worrying about spears, crossbows, or any other typical physical weaponry! :swear:

I think mounted combat fitted more with Oblivion's chivalric themes, but I'm definitely not going to complain about adding more features. Very nice.

Arthmoor, open cities that change with the seasons would be absolutely amazing. Theoretically, could the whole weather system could be dynamic and change according to seasons? Far more blizzards in the winter, fair weather in the summers? The thought of a combination of those gives me goosebumps.

Not sure why they didnt add spells to mounted combat. If it had to deal with the master spells charging and being unable to move then i would have been fine with them being disabled while mounted. Just let me shoot flames and heal myself on my pony and i'll be fine.

I'm really hoping for the following in the patches to come - Seasonal weather, directional water flow, non rigid objects (flails, cloth physics, fat giants!) and spears. I'm also excited about crossbows but thats a known given being we already have assets to them in our BSA's right now.

Has anyone tried unpacking the update BSA to see if they've snuck in any more stuff?

You mean 'design decision' just like how they said they weren't doing mounted combat prior to Skyrim's release? The lack of first person horse riding, as well as the lack of first person perspective for werewolves, are common complaints about Skyrim, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if these things get added eventually.
My own limited testing also indicates that the navmesh bug is finally dead!
Now let's hope it doesn't cause any other problems and gets to stay, unlike last time.

I actually want to use flails. They are in Daggerfall, but I've never used one in that game.

We don't talk about... those mods... around here ;)

If they added legit physics for usable items though (clothing, weapons, etc.)... that would be awesome.

So anyone working on more detailed list of changes? It's hard to say what exactly they did with all the rare issues fixed. And mounted combat, yeah great. What about a hardcoe mode, that would spare me a plugin.

However, it's always great to get frequent updates, that's one thing I love about Bethesda.

I'm guessing that we'll be seeing verlet physics next - There's a stubbed console command that indicates as much.
