I'm assuming the people that put the work into it counted all the landmass. Face it, you guys will ave to find something new to complain about.
Time to start the lack of ability to play the game on Dosbox complaint up. Who wants to see if it works in dos?

I dont want random generated land, although i do think that Skyrims gameworld is too small.

The forests are not very dense or lush, and they dont really cover a big area. Its just trees dotted around the land. You cant really get lost in a forest. Locations are too close to eachother. You cant really walk in the wild without seing caves, ruins, groves too close to eachother. Sometimes I actually avoid these locations when I see them on the compass. When you walk in the wilderness, it doesnt really feel like you are travelling. A walk from Whiterun to Solitude doesnt really take that long.

So for the next game, I want it to be just 2x the size of Skyrim.

No. I am a critic of MANY things about this game, but its size is not one of them. I've had 4 characters so far, each doing about 100 hours. I've rarely been to the same dungeons twice save for the main ones attached to major quests.

"The forests are not very dense or lush, and they dont really cover a big area. Its just trees dotted around the land. You cant really get lost in a forest."

This I agree with 100%. I wish there had been REAL forests in this game. What Falkreath has is pretty lame.

I know this is very off topic but for me does Skyrim feel kinda dumb down or something like for me Morrowind seems like a way better rpg than Skyrim heck Skyrim seems like fable 3 compared to Morrowind

Have you ever played games with randomly generated land? Bleah. I'll take the smaller (But still huge...) hand crafted world over a giant generated world anyday.

Idk, Minecraft did it pretty well.

yeah theat would be epic if they could say make it 2X bigger that would mean that it would be 28.6 miles. i would love to be able to go into a forest and get lost. or say walk into a city that actually feels like i'm in a real sized city. like say there are 5 parts to each city.

first part would be the outskerts of the city walls. there would be a say a bunch of stalls and busineses like the stables and maybe some other buildings to. then the 2nd part would be where you come into the front gate which could say be the market place. and that would say be the size of white run it self. then the 3rd part would be the home section of the city. the 4th part would be the chaple area.

so say in white run where the big ass tree is and and the healing place and the hall of the dead and the companions hall. and maybe a few more home like where the richest people of the city live. again that would all be the same size as the whole of whiterun. and then

and then the 5th and finall area would be the palace. which again would be as big or some where close to as big as the whole of Whiterun.

what do you think ?????

Size only matters if the role is fun to play. No dirty thoughts!

Lol...well then....I'll just leave this comment alone. :whistling: But you do have a point, I'm just throwing out apoint to the OP. A bigger game with the same or better graphics. Roleplaying can be done, regardless of these things.

First, quality over quantity.
When Oblivion was out you saw plenty of threads bwaaing over how empty and homogeneous certain areas felt and how people would gladly have a smaller game world if it was more detailed and richer etc etc.

Secondly, I reckon it's about to get a decent boost in size when Dawnguard hits... decent I said, I'm not talking about adding Akavir to the game... but I bet there'll be a good chunk of new turf to explore.

That's because Morrowind is MORE of an RPG, you see when they made Morrowind It was more about making games more like DnD, and putting more RP elements into the game. Morrowind was made to appease hardcoe RPers who knew what they were doing.

Have you played the intro to Morrowind? almost NO Tutorial, they drop you off in a little town and they expect you to KNOW what you're doing, if you're playing blind you ARE BLIND.

First time i played i had NO idea what i was doing, and i was a DnD player.

Skyrim on the other hand has less RPG, and more Action/Adventure elements, of course, it still has plenty of RPG stuff in it, more then enough to qualify for the genre.

I personally like the two game about the same.

Yeah, the randomly generated terrain of Daggerfall was the best.

I mean, all the empty landscape, all the completely bleak fields, all the mountains you can see in the background but never reach because the game cannot render mountains...

This game world is to small?
The vertical make up of much of the map also is a great part of this land and creates great ways to explore.
Oblivion was a random generated game, the world suffered greatly from that but it was a little bigger.
The mostly hand crafted world of Skyrim and Morrowind is vastly superior to the design of Oblivion.
This game might be the worst bugged title to date but the game world is great.

As far as I remember, every cave in Morrowind was hand drawn.

I get the feeling world size is suffering due to better looking graphics with every new game that comes out.
However in my current playthrough (with Skyrim Redone mod, wich is kinda essential as not only fixes alot of the games flaws - but also stretches progression and makes every fight something I need to be focused on) I only use carrige's for fast treveling. And it makes the experience somewhat closer to that of Morrowind and thanks the the SkyRE mod I actually feel weak in the erlie stages.

I agree, it would be nice to add some almost empty fields between cities. Like in FO NV you had some serious empty wasteland parts where there were only a few enemies. Although some people don't like that it would be nice for roleplaying purposes so I actually makes sense to rest in an inn when travelling from Whiterun to Riften.

To the best of my knowledge, this is completely untrue. All of Oblivion's landscape is hand-crafted. And IMO, the Oblivion gameworld is beautiful and a pleasure to play in.

Making it bigger doesn't mean sacrificing the amount of content. I agree that Skyrim is too small. They should just add more space in between places. There shouldn't be a cave/town/village/hideout/bandit camp/vampires/monsters/giants/dragon/skeletons/draugr tomb/castle/waterfall every 100 meters.
