Okay first off this about the consoles, NOT PC. This is about textures and more specifically the X360's textures since 1.4

My main question and the reasoning behind this topic is simply: Does Skyrim on consoles NOT have HighRes Textures?

Because it seems like from what I've heard, and seen from other peoples games that they look the same as mine. Crappy, lowres, and looking like Oblivion. But EVERYONE keeps saying "My gfx look fine!", "Skyrim looks amazing!", and all this other jazz..

So it seems like to me the console community is just taking what is given. We shouldn't be like this, AT ALL. We should rise up and grab BGS attention no matter what we have to do. They NEED to know about this issue facing the XBOX360. And seeing as most of there market COMES from consoles.. it baffles me as to why they keep shoving aside the issue. Or are you just planning on leaving the game lowres forever? If that's the case you can never see me buy a game on console from your studio ever again. Period.

Because IMHO, my game looking like it's SUPPOSED to look is far more important then new killcams.. get your [censored] together PLEASE!

All I know is every time I'm inside of a snow-covered cave (snow all over the walls, rocks, floor) I get dizzy and want to throw up. It seriously looks so bad.

PC's > Consoles. End of discussion surely? Even when the new PS and Xbox come out there's definitely going to be more powerful PC's available simply because i doubt either console will be able to warrant a £500+ GPU in them while still being affordable, let alone everything else required. Consoles get pick-up-and-playability, more accessible multiplayer and games made specifically for them (rather than fecking ports) so why shouldnt our much much more powerful rigs (and a lot more expensive) be able to smash console gfx? Plus the amount of kids playing online is minimal on PC's

For the forseeable future, graphics on games PC is greater than console.

Eventually they should draw closer. I don't think it's even that far away.

I think alot of people are misunderstanding the original post.... regardless of what your used to on your pc.... I've seen better GRAPHICS on my 360 Skyrim game before 1.4.... now I walk into towns and see alot of textures have changed to that of oblivion... exactly as he said. I repeat.... I have literally watched them change, sometimes right in front of my eyes... I can sometimes stand for 10 minutes, and watch a few of the textures go from oblivion texture to skyrim texture.

THANK YOU!

Someone has a brain. +20 points for you my friend for finally discovering the folly behind my post..

I'm TRYING to tell all of you that this game AT ONE POINT actually was HighRes for me. ONLY AFTER GETTING 1.4 did I start seeing things hella degrade. And I know I'm not the only person getting this issue.

And before 1.4.. I'm sure my Dragons didn't look like Mud Bats at a distance and only get there textures back when they lad DIRECTLY in front of me. Trust me as I've stated before when I got my new TV I could REALLY tell the huge difference.

So when that difference degrades in value and starts getting blobby... trust me I notice. 20/20 vision folks I'm not blind.

This time the PC gets better gfx? How does that seem fair to everyone who can't afford $600+?

How is it fair that I have to be limited to the graphics of a machine that was outdated 7 years ago? Why should I have to limit myself to that horrible level of graphical quality? Because it'll upset you if my Skyrim looks better?

My computer cost me 3 times the amount of my xbox.... it is newer by far than the X360... but it could come nowhere close to playing skyrim. PC's out-date at an incredible speed. I still have the first 360 I ever bought... a little worse for wear and of course I've upgraded to an elite... but, I could hook it up right now, and play skyrim... while I like the idea of mods, and true 1080p.. I'll take my Xbox investment over my PC investment any day of the week.

With the incredibly low amount of memory the 360 have, I wouldn't be surprised if the textures were scaled down even more compared to pc and ps3.

Sounds like you guys might be having an LOD problem or the normal res textures just aren't showing up. Check your disc if it's scratched. lol I don't remember the last time I had to worry about scratched discs.

Whatever reason would they have of decreasing the texture of the 360? that makes no sense... as they were able to fix the textures with patch 1.2 and it never presented a bit of lag or frame-rate drop. The problems that plague the system are bugs that are not caused by texture. Patch 1.4 brought the texture problems back that 1.2 had just fixed. Trying to understand where your logic is coming from.

You can run Skyrim on Ultra easily for not that much money at all. Whatever you spent on your computer and console combined could've probably built a killer system, completely disregarding the fact that your computer is probably a prebuilt with an integrated GPU (and that's why it can't play games).

The disk is perfect. If it was the disk, 1.2 would not have fixed my textures. If it was the disk, downloading 1.4 would have had no effect on my textures whatsoever.

The sub-dermal neurophone. It's hooked up to the exterior rotators drive and sometimes it causes the inner flux engine to overheat.

Oh I see. Have you tried routing the flux capacitor to the giga-membrane of the sparkle rotator? That might fix the problem with the dilithium capacitors overloading.

Again, THANK YOU. See this is what I was honestly TRYING to get across. Skyrim for me DID have way better graphics then what I'm currently looking at BEFORE 1.4.

Once 1.4 hit something happened. And honestly I think I know the culprit: 10MB patch.

Hear me out first before you go "New Vegas had patches BIGGER then that, and never had problems even if saved in the Games Folder.".

Because Skyrim is much much more complex with the way it layers textures for the game compared to F3 and TES4. And like I said this had only happened AFTER getting the patch. Theres also some textures missing and "lines" in the ground that are transparent. (That WERE NOT there before!)

Also, my disc isn't scratched trust me. And PLEASE don't say it's my TV, Harddrive, OR Console. Because it's not.. it's the game.. and it's Patch 1.4.

Thinking just now..

Why is it that Oblivion, Fallout 3/New Vegas all have the same graphics. PC and Console.. there's really NO difference that is major.

Skyrim on the other hand.. looks like crap on consoles. But looks LIFELIKE on PC...

Why did they do this? To quell there lil pc [censored]? I don't get it.. why not make the graphics THE SAME like you did with previous games?

This time the PC gets better gfx? How does that seem fair to everyone who can't afford $600+?
Probably as Skyrim is pushing the limits hard also it probably uses more textures all the time than Oblivion, see how more realistic places in Skyrim look compared to Oblivion.
This is probably also related to your problem, my old grapic card did behave strange then I installed some better texture mods.

As for running the high resolution texture pack, not all pc car run it, think it demand 1GB video ram and 4GB system ram, and an decent graphic card.
Xbox360 and PS3 has 0.5GB ram total.

I think it's safe to say it's official that 1.4 clearly is the culprit behind the newly arisen texture problem on the 360. Because I have heard not ONE case of texture problem mishaps for the PS3 ever since 1.4.

So in a sense they tried there hardest to fix PS3 skyrim and in the process messed up X360 Skyrim Textures. GREAT! -.O

I'd also like to note that I can visibly see the lines on each side of the "paths" in Whiterun. The game should be using better textures to sharpen and smoothen it out so you CAN'T see the lines.

It's like my games running 720p graphics under 1080p resolution on my TV.

See I went from 720p to 1080p because I got a new TV. That's why I am bickering because I noticed how great Skyrim did look. But I swear after 1.4 something happened in the game to mess with the textures.. I'm positive.

Same thing happened to me with GTA IV. I couldn't see the outlines of the islands on the map - just the roads. I had my 360 set to display 1080p by mistake. The problem was solved when I set the 360 to display 720p.

Go to > SYSTEM > CONSOLE SETTINGS > HDTV SETTINGS > DISPLAY > then select 720p. Let me know if that works for you.

Are you talking about the DLC the released? No that was PC only. Everyone playing on console looks just like your game does.

Also Skyrim is at the max that consoles can support. Sadly consoles are not computers, they will never be able to handle the graphics computers can handle. Skyrim was built to the limitation of what consoles can handle. It CAN'T get any better. Its impossible.
Even the high-res textures pack for PC fixes only the clothes but only a minority of the environment textures in the game. The sheer number of textures used in Skyrim is incredible. Not to mention that each surface has at least two textures (one for color, one for dot3 bump mapping).

Uhh.. no. I tried it and it did nothing. What would that do with anything anyway? My tv goes to 1080p FULL HD. (and I have a Monster HDMI Cable)

It's not my TV that's the problem it's the game itself and it's textures. Bethesda better hurry up with this 1.5 changelog or I swear..
