Steam, etc Deals

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:52 am

Welcome to the 3rd thread about Steam and other stores' Deals.
Since people have been posting about other stores, such as Amazon, we decided we would make this more of a multi-purpose thread. So if you find any new hot deals, come and post them here!

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1084057-steam-deals/

http://www.steamgamesales.com/stores.php - Information about Steam / Impulse / D2D deals.

At the moment, Max Payne 2 is on sale on Steam for $2.50, which is a steal in my opinion.

Sorry guys, it just finished.

I had Guild wars on my 'to buy in a sale'-list, but I'm actually more tempted to buy X3 at the moment, seems like a lot of effort went into that game (just look at that huge manual).

It's going to take an equal amount of effort for us to understand it I'm sure. :P

I'm buying it as soon as my money transfer to Paypal is complete, which should be before the deal is off.

GTA San Andreas is $4.99 right now, even though it was in a $7.50 bundle of itself and all previous GTAs just last night. Very sneaky, Valve...

Steam is really going crazy with these GTA-related sales recently...

Say, did you ever buy that bundle?

I'm aware, but they must have 5 deals a day. They should just have a couple of permanent deals for the whole week instead of random deals during the day.

Nah, I wanted to but, as silly as it sounds, I didn't really have $7.50 to spare, even though the deal was great. Plus I didn't really need more games added to my backlog.

Hm. Would you recommend that to someone who has never played a GTA game ever? Or should I get San Andreas?

Vice city was definitely fun, but nothing beats SA.

So San Andreas then? I mean both of them are 75% off right now, so either or works.

Yes, I'd have to say San Andreas is a much better, more fun, more humorous game. Lots more to do, and I prefer the setting.

I haven't played Vice City, but I can attest to the awesomeness that is SA. There's a huge amount to do in game, and it can be very funny sometimes. I'd go for it.

Vice City is fun. I haven't played SA though. Its alot like GTA3 just set in Miami. Some of the 80s stuff is quite humorous.

Do you guys think SA is worth the $5 or should I just ick up Vice City for the $2.50?

I think so. It's worth a good sum of time, especially if you like PvP, but I liked the PvE too as it has a very nice narrative style rather than do x number of quests for y questgiver until level 80. The level cap is 20, so that means after you hit 20 (and you will very soon) it's all based on the skills and abilites you combine and use in instances and how well you work with your party, because monsters can be much higher levels than 20 and they come in packs.

Graphics still look beautiful even today.

Think I'll pass on that, not too keen on racing games.

Vice City was better than SA, in my opinion. The characters and story were better too.

I found it an excellent game; at three for $20 you cannot be dissapointed.

I just bought X3-Gold and am installing Terran Conflict at the moment. I'm aware of the long learning curve but I wanted to try it for a while now and figured for $15 it wasn't that big of a deal if I couldn't get into, although it seems like the type of game once you get into you could lose yourself in.

Looks like a good deal, but I don't know whether to get them, since I'm not a huge fan of racing games. I don't want to get the games for sake of the deal.

Unless you have a wheel then don't. I tried out a couple of demos of racing games and a keyboard and mouse svcks hard for them.
