Strangest thing you've eaten

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 10:32 pm

I eat a relative amount of offal (I'm Scottish... ;)) but the weirdest thing I've had was probably tongue. It didn't taste as chewy as I thought it would and I was sort of put off...

Why should tongue be chewier than other muscles? :unsure2:

Fried grasshoppers and cooked http://www.vdkroeven.nl/meelworm.jpg-for-web-normal.jpg with vegetables. Tasty!

EDIT: forgot about the cat food, dog food and rabbit food. Rabbit food is gross but the rest was alright.

I wonder how this would feel- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gdtd5OeezK8. One of the hottest peppers in the world.

Just imagine. Your out walking and you were hungry and come across this harmless looking pepper. And you eat it.

I had a piece of a dried ghost pepper, about the size of a dime. It was the first time I cried because of spice. There is also a company called Red Hot Foods in my town that put it in salsa, best damn salsa Ive ever had.

It all depends on what you consider strange, calamari to me is delicious, Ive had chocolate covered grasshoppers and ants. Pork belly. Pickled pigs feet. a 6 LB. 3ft long burrito. Rattlesnake. Ive had more but I can't think of 'em.

Sounds like a Shwarma sandwich - those are delicious, very popular in Los Angeles

I had a mixed meat Shwarma. Chicken, lamb, and beef I think. Best sandwich I ever had.

Edit- It was actually the chicken one I had that tasted best to me. Mixed meat one was good too.

Also I want to try alligator sometime.

Yeah but it wasn't even as chewy as regular meat. It had a very odd texture...

When I had beef tongue, it was very tender. The consistency, I mean, not the moment.
