What's the strangest thing you've ever eaten? Mine was the Bacon Sundae from Denny's. It was good :D

Hmm..probably salt and pepper frog legs. For those who haven't had frog before...it's not very good. It tasted like salty, rubbery chicken

You might not have had the best frog then... I love it!

The strangest thing I've ever eaten is likely fried alligator. But it was good. Sea Urchin is also up there.

Octopus, snail and ostrich are the "weirdest" things I've eaten -- if one doesn't count all the insects I've accidentally swallowed when cycling during my whole life.

Other than that... Raw liver, raw kidney, fried cow brains, tongue and lungs, and various different seasonings.

Eek. Octopus brings back bad memories of Mexico after I ate an octopus dish and drank the tap water later that night

It was horrible. Luckily at the last part of the trip. I drank the water without thinking.

Aww, can't watch.

I can imagine. I live about twenty minutes from the border. One thing we are taught when we are young is don't ever, EVER, drink the water if we go down to Mexico.

I wonder how this would feel- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gdtd5OeezK8. One of the hottest peppers in the world.

Just imagine. Your out walking and you were hungry and come across this harmless looking pepper. And you eat it.

A chicken heart, I guess. Never been in much of a position to try anything very unusual. I've been told I had snails, but was too young to remember. I've had octopus, but don't consider it strange.

Sadly, I was too young to even contemplate trying, but one morning my grandfather kept true to his word and cooked brains and eggs -- we had always teased him for his willingness to try just about anything, even brains. It was quite unsettling to see a quarter lobe in the frying pan, sizzling away.

Well since apparently Bacon Sundae isn't the strangest thing here, I'll say that the strangest thing is octopus. It's surprisingly good :obliviongate:

I haven't eaten a Ghost Chili, but I have had a Habanero Pepper (the second hottest pepper out there, but still only comes in as one third as hot as a Ghost Chili).

It honestly felt like my brain had turned into magma and was pouring through my eyes and nose. I can't even begin to imagine what a Ghost Chili would be like. There's a risk of burning a hole in your stomach lining with them. :o

I couldn't even imagine. I usually eat jalape?os and don't have trouble.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naga_Viper_pepper as of February 25th. 1,382,118 Scoville Heat Units
The ghost pepper ranks at about 1,000,000 SHU
Habeneros are 100,000 to 350,000 SHU.
Jalepenos are only 2,500 to 8,000.
Law Enforcement pepper spray comes to 9,000,000 SHU

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MPiAMC55PQ

There is also capsaicin. Which is basically what makes peppers hot. Rated at about 15,000,000 SHU 15x the hottest pepper. Can send a person into shock with a couple drops.

Just found out that last month, a new hottest chili was found the Trinidad Scorpian Butch T chili. 1,463,000 SHU

Crazy stuff.

As for strange foods, I have also eaten one of those crickets in a lollipop. Can't say its my favorite candy. Bear Grylls might enjoy them.
