DCDeacon updated on Twitter about the possible problems with the CK, Steam Workshop, Mods, Wiki. https://twitter.com/#!/DCDeacon/status/166976178593345536

Oh my god, that's so funny!

No, you need 1GB of video ram, you only have 512MB.

The Hi-Res pack is not working out so well for me and I exceed the recommended requirements. If I disable it the game runs smooth like normal. But with it on it looks like this. http://imgur.com/AwUAo

It will not even load past that screen. I was so excited to see the new textures. :( - To call my luck even worse. The Creation Kit just keeps crashing as soon as it launches.

It may not be as simple as just reverifying your data cahce via Steam. I had similar texture issues when I installed to many texture mods that went over my max vram amount. I have 1280MB of video memory (GTX470) and would get those issues when my video memory usage was at and over 1280MB. I deleted some of the mods and used lower resolution versions of the same mods to get my vdieo memory usage down.

@Ashemanu

Yeah but I guess there being overrided by Beth's pack, you can easily turn it off via Skyrim's Launcher in the Data files button.

Hmm, yes, but I would like to use those new textures. But I also want to keep my girl′s now pretty face. Any way to achieve this?

Use a north american server. Chose Seattle, it works flawlessly.

The biggest improvements if you did know are the clothes, armour, NPC skin textures. Basically all the textures that looked bad have been improved a lot.

Where is the option to DL the packs or have them turned on? I see nothing in the launcher.

Click "Data Files" on the launch screen and you can select files in there, once you have downloaded the DLC.

Go into Skyrim in the Steam store and there is a Free DLC option. http://store.steampowered.com/app/202485/

It's not worth comparing because the modded textures are different and come in much bigger sizes for people with more than 1GB of VRAM. The texture upgrade is a conservative update for people with 1Gb of VRAM.

Some people think the Nexus HD textures look out of place and "too modded" whereas these new ones retain the Skyrim feel better.

I agree. I don't like Skyrim HD because some things seems plastics and/or also too defined. The only enhancer mods that I like, are the Chris2012(unfortunately it's only for Whiterun) and XCE.

I'll be surprised if isoku's awesome mods for water and fire will be invalidated.

There will be a bunch of other texture mods that must remain...night sky, skill screen, etc.

Yeah, I have to agree. Especially mountains, looks like they didn't do anything for that.

Here's a repost of some comparison shots I took:

People were asking for shots of NPC clothing and blocky faces:

Low Res: http://www.imgplace.com/viewimg513/9545/20adriannelores.png

High Res: http://www.imgplace.com/viewimg189/5/49adriannehires.png

Screenshots really don't do the hi-res pack justice, you have to see ingame.

One more comparison on an animal:

Low Res Horse: http://www.imgplace.com/viewimg717/2725/97horselores.png

High Res Horse: http://www.imgplace.com/viewimg13/8441/49horsehires.png

Edit: pay attention to the finer detail around the head, particularly the nostrils area.

Will it just overwrite any texture packs I may have installed, or do I need to delete the texture packs I've downloaded?

Are they even better than the packs from the Nexus?
