That furry thread

Post » Wed May 02, 2012 8:32 pm

But there are no dogs in the game that look like his hat. NCR/Fiend dogs are bald and scabby, Legions dogs are covered in thick brown fur and then theirs the random huskey dogs. It might be a coyote. But I'm sure it's mentioned in game that it is a fox.

But there are no foxes at all in the game.

That you can see :ninja:
So what, because there are no foxes visible it can't be one of them, yet it can be a dog though no breed matches the hood - Nope, not a dog. :)

Aren't bronies furries?

Some of them are but they are very much distinct fandoms through not mutually exclusive either. There are many [hypocritical] bronies who despises furries and vice versa. The idea carried by some however that enjoying a show/movie with anthropomorphic characters is a furry by definition is absurd. By that logic people who enjoy such movies as the lion king are therefore furries.

For the record however I'm okay with furries; I got nothing really against them and would consider myself indifferent to them as a group. The bandwagon hatedom directed against them on the other paw is rather moronic in my opinion.http://xkcd.com/471/

No.

Why not?

As far i'm concerned people can do or like anything they like, as long as it doesn't hurt other people. Unless those other people want it :hehe:

And no, getting people upset doesn't count as hurting :hehe:

Oh. That guy. You don't want to know what I did to that guy when I met him in New Vegas.
You were distracted by his war hounds.

Probably. :P

Ooohhh... I kind of sort of thought that was what a furry was. Someone on my Facebook mentioned it and when I said I'd have to google the term, I got a resounding "NO!" from everyone... so I could only assume.

But now I know. Don't understand it at all... (I've tried to play an Argonian and Khajiit but just couldn't get into it as well as their human/elf counterparts) but I don't think anyone who doesn't share a fetish/fringe hobby would.

Of course, simply liking one particular show that features anthropomorphism certainly doesn't make someone a furry, but by definition furries are fans of anthropomorphism, no two ways about that.

Was PapaFern less of a person for not knowing who Davey Crocket was? No.... Is the answer to your question no?

That American guy who wore the round fur hat with the tail, some-kind of woodland critter.

Does anyone actually buy those, because that is on hell of a steep price....

Ever made of "made on request" old sport

OT: From personal recolections I've always felt people have their "proclivities" from birth, I reserve the right to raise an eyebrow but I'd be a hypocrit to say anything more.

Nope it's a fox, it would make sense for someone called Desert Fox to wear a dog, especially since there are no ingame dogs with similar textures.
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Vexillarius_helmet (In-Game)

Reminds me of this fighter from the gladiator who wore a hollowed-out, rotting bull skull as a helmet and the hide of the bull (also rotting) was attached to the skull and covered his back.

I don't really know what the...appeal is? I'd like to think of myself as tolerant kind of guy, but the sixual side to furryism is quite disturbing.

Not quite the same as I was looking for, and $3,800+ for it as well  :bonk:

Never really understood the whole "furry" thing. I don't mind if someone does, as long as they don't care about my unholy love for digimon.

The six side of it is a little strange, but I'm not judging. We all have our quirks.

I do enjoy Jay Naylor's comics though (not the porm ones, just Better Days and Original Life)

So is the sixual side to anime and the like. The sixual side to pretty much all things is disturbing. (Not a furry btw).

Well, if we keep things like that to ourselves then noone gets hurt!
Anyhow, might want to stop turning this into a thread about a hat in Fallout...

The furries I've met in real life have all been normal guys for the most part. As normal as anyone else, at least  I'll see a couple at anime cons in their fur suits walking around and while I may not be a furry myself, I've seen some really well drawn and tasteful furry art at cons. And of course there's the anthropomorphic anime character but that's the extent of my furry knowledge

Anyway, I definitely don't judge furries and the ones I've met I generally get along well with. As a person from a different subculture that gets a lot of flak by most "normal" people, I do my best not to judge other people based on their tastes. I wish you well in this thread and hope the trolls don't bother you.

I like to think of myself as very open-minded and accepting of other people's differences. And while that holds true for furries, I still retain my feeling that furries are weird. Weird in a kind of specific-but-hard-to-pinpoint socially awkward way. I've never met a furry who wasn't.

I don't mean that to be a bad thing per se. All interesting people are weird in their own way, that's just my observation. I had a couple of friends that were furries.

I don't think I've ever met a furry IRL, at least not one that openly identified as such.

Eh, furries. I think it's a little strange to let a fetish become a way of life, but I guess I can't really talk.

I let a http://www.hongfire.com/cg/data/25/caramelldansen.swf become a way of life.

Well I misspelled it, it's Davy Crockett, he's an American folk hero, politician, frontiersman and soldier.

Often potrayed with a coonskin cap, and the answer is no, be was not considered a furry.

I realised soon after who he was/might have been.

Would an attraction to girls whos features make her look somewhat like a cat - naturally not using masks etc.
I really doubt I'm a furry :P
