The Big Empty in Old World Blues....

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:03 pm

CAN'T YOU SEE THIS SENSELESS FIGHTING IS TEARING US APART!!!???!!!???

If there is an Area 51, all the aliens will likely be long dead.

Or not.

How old were the aliens is MSZ? I know the ship was built around 800 BCE, but the aliens probably weren't.

Area 51 would be the coolest thing ever:

1. Lots of FEV rejects and all sorts of abominations to fight.

2. A story following Area 51's biological experiments and pre-war government

3. Aliens and their nifty tech

4. Irradiated like hell, which will make me even more glad I took the rad resistance perk.

5. Possibly get to see the Enclave running the facility.

6. Honestly, the biggest criticism against New Vegas as a game has been its lack of feeling post-apacolyptic. Fallout 3 was awesome in this respect. If Old world blues gave the game that fallout/fight for your survival against mutated rejects it would make amends against that criticism in some respects.

I think the lack of a Post-Apocalypse feel of New Vegas is fine. FO1, FO2 and New Vegas have been slowly getting more and more advanced in terms of how the world is. It started off super post-apocalyptic in FO1 but its more now about the rebuilding of humanity.

Totally agree.

Also I hope it's actually a good amount of play time in this dlc unlike the other two. I'm in between if OWB and LR will be of good length or not because of the first 2 dlc's but there is a lot of content I feel needs to be covered in the 2 final dlc's.

DLC always has been and always will be around 4-6hours long. I don't know where people get this mistaken idea that DLC is going to be like 10 hours or something.

Hardly, there are plently of non-Alien invasion stories; in any even I just don't want their goal to be to hover over a planet for 600 years and occassionally abduct people to turn into - again with this Bethesda? - super-soldiers.

War of the Worlds arguable the most kick-ass twist in any sci-fi story ever.

War of the worlds is a good movie, and I was wondering, of the small bit of footage we have seen of OWB did the surrounding area look like there were mountains nearby? Or maybe they just decided that they were gonna bring back the whole "Lobotomites ambush you then you are saved by a renegade BoS soldier later once the Lobotomites take you back to Big Mt." Idk really.

Please use http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1194331-old-world-blues-faq/ for anything related to Old World Blues DLC

I read your thread and this thread. There is a lot of information and speculation on this thread and NOTHING interesting on your thread.

Furthermore your behavior is deplorable . This was a successfull thread functioning 2 days before you decided you wanted to be the boss of all OWB.

There's nothing more annoying then a power crazed nerd.

Of course if you are an admin then I have read things completely wrong. You can prove me a noob by deleting this post. If you just reply then I am right and you are just some power crazed, grey souled, comittee addicted, socialist nerd nuggie magnet.

 Touche! A perfect responce!

I just tried to make "Not The Official Old World Blues Thread" in which people were NOT to submit information about OWB. But the Admins shut it down immediatly because there were already threads about OWB. Was that Ironic or was it Kafkaesque?

There might be a possibility that "Old World Blues" "Big Mountain Complex" could be within the Area 51 zone because the airfield is surrounded by large mountains.

My guess is that it's not located on a big mountain but maybe on a big mesa?....u know those mountains with the flat tops...which would explain the emptiness???

I'm still hoping Obsidian holds true to it's claim of 'Area 51 won't be in New Vegas'. :shakehead:

One thing I hope to see is the cloud. We have no idea what it is, even after dead money Its possible and I think it would fit what they did if it turns out the cloud was a pre war weapon, the US tested and teh sierra madre we visit now is the result. It wouldnt be too hard to imagine, they already have other big empty tech in the Madre (hazmat suits, saturnite) and the cloud had weapon capailities like Elijah planned to use, it to kill pople whil preserving technology. So yeah I wouldnt put it past the US government to have made it like they made fev and molerats to ruin other countries.

They haven't let us down yet. In fact I'm positively sure there won't be any Area 51.

But let kids have fun.

I don't get why people want it to be Area 51, I want to see somewhere new.

I was gonna say this myself, they already said they would not be using area 51 and/or aliens in anything planned, I personally would like to see Canada in the next fallout game, or maybe Chicago or New York city, where does every1 else think the next Fallout will take place? Not DLC but Fallout4.

Suppose so if it is not area 51, then it could be Area 8 that right next to it. In fact Area 8 is a major weapons testing site in Nevada.

They could place F4 in Chicago with the Midwestern BoS. They have territory going all the way to Alaska if I recall correctly.
