Looks good. However I don't think I could get these cause after doing some research haven't found anything on local stores  I'll still check at the tech store where I buy all my stuff though :)

Why are you interested in a USB based headset.. Do you not have a good sound card?

Not at the moment :P I'm planning on it though in which case I've been looking at Corsair's HS1A while I was checking their SP2500 speakers (the ones I'll buy unless something better comes out in the near future).

I wouldn't get a USB headset even with an integrated card... they are such a pain.

I use http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-HS-980-Fatal1ty-Professional/dp/B002BH3JDA/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1303611972&sr=8-5, they have great sound quality and a flexible/removable mic. And very comfortable, like a puffy cloud on each ear.

Seriously? I always thought it was the other way around for some reason

I have also checked those a while ago. Also a good option

With a USB headset you can't adjust as many features in the Windows control panel, and plus you can't plug them into other devices.

I'm having problems with my graphics, when I try to play a game the texture is blurry. In fallout 3 the textures on all of the rock and on the Pip-boys is very low quality and just plain bad. In WoW some bushes and plants are stretched. It just happen suddenly, I was making a simple house mod with GECK, I didn't like what I did and just closed it out, when I opened it back up a few minutes later the stuff was bad. I later noticed it on Fallout 3 and WoW. But its only on my user, on my brother and on the Admin, everything works fine. I didn't install anything new, it was just sudden. I've downloaded the Windows update and everything, but nothing :/
Any hep would be really appreciated.

and if it helps any it's a HP with Windows 7 and a ATI Radeon HD 4350 Graphic card.

Does stable overclocking cause file corruption? I want to raise my Phenom 965C3 to 3.8ghz through the multiplier at stock voltage.

No it doesnt. Make sure you know what you're doing when you overclock though, like monitor the temps and run something like prime95 to stress test its stability.

I have a little mystery for the techies! It has to do with starting up my PC before the OS loads, my USB keyboard and a USB external DVD drive.

When my dvd drive is turned on my keyboard is detected and works (so I can choose to select starting windows XP instead of default win 7).
When my dvd drive is turned off my keyboard is not detected and I have to wait 30 seconds for the timeout on selecting an OS to start (default win7)

Now how does this work? It doesnt matter if the dvd drive is plugged in via usb or not, my keyboard is simply never detected if my dvd drive is not turned on. Also I dont have any internal disk drives, if that matters. This has been happening for years and i never bothered to ask why, but it is annoying.

Well I spoke too soon about the ABS FX-7, they finally broke yesterday after over a year of good use. I ordered a http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001RB24SW since its a great deal on Amazon. (On Newegg, they are still $135) They should be here tomorrow or Wednesday. I finally will put my soundcard to good use.

(Also USB headsets come with their own drivers, so there is no need to go through the control panel. In fact, my USB ABS headset had all of the same features as my HT Omega Striker soundcard.)

Must only be the expensive ones.

My cousin had a USB headset he got from some retail store, and it echoed his games through voice chat louder than his actual voice. I tried to fix it using Windows Remote Assistance but there were no separate drivers, and no "echo cancellation" that you can enable (which even my integrated sound card can enable on any device).

How do you properly save a webpage onto your computer? Why do all the webpages I save take over 2 minutes to open?

I have a question regarding about http://www.buxr.com/deal/compaq-cq50-209wm-laptop-15-6in-screen-refurbished_24491. The graphics card and processor svck and it struggles to play morrowind. Now speaking theoretically could I replace them with better components or would I have to replace everything in the system since everything pretty much svcks? For instance could I get a more powerful processor as long as the socket type is the same or would I have to replace the mobo as well? Same question for the graphics card, could I put a Radeon HD card in it without having to replace the mobo?

In general you cant upgrade laptops besides hard drives and RAM. The motherboard is proprietary, as well is the chipset. Its not an actual card, its just a chip on the system board. While you may be able to place a new CPU in there (same CPU but possibly higher clock speed), it really isnt worth it. Laptops are designed by the manufacturer to be un-upgradeable and disposable within a couple years. There is no way to "replace" the GPU since its actually just a chip attached. The Celeron series CPUs were not a really powerful CPU as it is. You really can only upgrade the RAM and maybe a faster 2.5 inch hard drive in there if you want. I personally dont even think that is worth it.

nah, its not worth it.

*sighs* this is what happens when you let your mom go buy the whole family laptops because they were on sale for $200

Wish I could build a desktop, but the one I want to build is like $1400 which is all the money I need for car insurance :(

Hey, my bro is on a $400 budget wanting a ridiculous amount of memory(640-1000gb) and a fast processor(about 3.0ghz). He wants it to last a while. The best I could find was http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6892118&csid=ITD&recordsPerPage=10&body=REVIEWS#tabs Anybody got any other suggestions? The faster the processor the better.

You only need half that budget to run most games on max.

To do what? Game? If so, then my suggestion is to tell him to save up more money. It's a very tough find for an already built PC (new) to be $400 and game well. Plus that machine would need a video card and better power supply to be respectable. Here's something that may be of interest:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227320&cm_re=x2_250-_-83-227-320-_-Product

If he can build a PC, he can get away with something better, but the operating system disc alone is $100 if he needs one. An extra $100-$200 can go a long way. Here's a nice combo, but need HDD and video card:

Not to game, just to simply have a long-lasting fast home computer. Integrated Graphics is fine, he hasn't played a PC game since the original Doom.

Well, today I came home to a dead computer. I didn't even realize I left it on, but I noticed the monitor blinking and sure enough it won't POST.

So I started troubleshooting, I reset the CMOS with no luck, checked all the power cables, removed each stick of RAM and tried both separately, tried them in different slots, removed the videocard and tried the onboard video, removed all of my HDDs/usb/sata cords, took the CMOS battery out, and still nothing. Hit the power switch, a blue led on the mobo by the CPU flashes once, my case fans attempt to spin, but nothing else. No beeps, no nothing.

The thermal paste on the CPU was a bit lacking in coverage but it was running fine with great temps, still I'm going to go get some and reapply tomorrow.

At this point I have no new ideas, other than the obvious start switching out parts, which will be hard for me considering I have no spare ones laying around. Anyways, anything I've missed or overlooked in my frustration?
